Chapter 143

Just as the lightning struck him in his mindscape, the sky above the family's mansion suddenly turned dark like a bolt of lightning that constantly changes color struck down, sending a wave of sound through the city. It struck through the roof of the mansion, going through floors and sticking down on Cassis.

A strong wave of air shot out, which caused Citlalmina to slid back as she tripped on a book on the ground. As she fell, everything slowed down as she saw a pink sting of lightning coming straight at her. Just as it was about to hit her, Esteban appeared behind her, pulled her closed to himself then placed his right hand in front of them.

"Gradation Air." He uttered, a blue aura appearing in front of him and forming a blue shield, blocking the incoming pink lightning string.

The lightning finally stopped striking, and when the shield disappeared, they saw Cassis sitting on the ground, unhurt. The surroundings were destroyed by rouge bolts of lightning, with books and paper burning and walls turned to lava due to the heat from the lightning. Cassis stood up, looking at his arm before turning to both of them.

Citlalmina pushed Esteban away, staring at Cassis with shakey eyes. She stumbled towards Cassis, a shakey smile appearing on her face. Walking through the quickly drying lava ground, she stopped in front of him. Placing both her plans on his cheeks, he mumbled, "I can't believe it. A Rainbow-ranked Mystic Eyes appeared in our family."

'The fuck? Why is she looking at me like that.' Cassis thought, looking at Citlalmina grinning crazily. 'And Mystic Eyes? What is that?'

Her grin grew, and she went to hug him. But something unimaginable happened. Cassis's eyes glinted as he moved out of her hug before grabbing her head and slamming it against the wall. Esteban saw that his eyes widening in shock. Angered, two daggers appeared in his hands, throwing them both at Cassis. He dodged both daggers, his eyes living a trail, as he created his own two daggers before launching them at Esteban.

Esteban stood still, stunned. How could his son, who is always playing around able to use Gradation Air? Snaping back to reality, he created another dagger, deflecting the daggers Cassis threw. 'What happened? What possessed my son?' He thought, blue Circuit appearing on his right arm, a mini tornado forming around his feet.

"Stop!" Citlalmina shouted, cleaning the blood from her nose. "Esteban, stand down." She said, glaring at Ebastin.

Esteban looked at her then back at Cassis, who was starring at his palm with a confused look on his face. He calmed down, remembering that it is his son in front of him. The blue Circuit disappeared from his arm, the wind returning to normal.

"Cassis, were you in control of yourself?" Citlalmina asked, walking towards him.

"No..." Cassis answered truthfully. When Citlalmina tried to hug him, his body suddenly left his control, and he attacked her. When Esteban attacked, his body once more entered autopilot, retaliating with the same moves Esteban attacked with. 'What was that?' Cassis thought. It was as if someone took control of his body, allowing him to use magic.

"Fascinating." Citlalmina muttered, her eyes widening. She bent down, picked up a rock, and threw it at Cassis. Once more, he lost control of his body and dodged the stone, creating a stone in his palm and throwing it at Noa, who caught it. "Haha." She laughed, stumbling back. "Mystic Eyes of Lord. Our family mystic eyes aren't lost."

Esteban was going to ask more about this Mystic Eyes of Lord, but he suddenly looked up, his eyes squinting. "It appears we have a visitor." He said before turning to Cassis. "Go to your room and don't come out. Let's welcome our guests."

Esteban walked past Cassis and Citlalmina and walking up the stairs. Citlalmina looked over to Cassis, smiling at him for the first time. "Don't let anyone see your eyes."

As they walked away, Cassis grabbed a glass shard, looking at his reflection. He stared into his eyes before closing them, sighing. "I need to do is learn Mages Zouken Matou soul magic to transfer body. I don't know what this eye is, but I am sure it won't strengthen my main body in any way." He threw the books away, walking towards the door. "This world is weak. No one I have met can rival Superman. But... is it because I haven't seen much of the world? I can't be too reckless with my acquisition before I get too overconfident. Overconfidence has always been my downfall.

"But, should I win the Holy grail war? Naa. That would be a waste of my time."

Esteban and Citlalmina sat beside each other in their living room across from a beautiful woman. She has chestnut brown hair, tied into a ponytail behind her head. It ran down her back and stopped just below her upper back. Her brown eyes that seemed to take in everything around her gave the impression that she wanted nothing more than to get this over with and end it quickly.

She has a white coat that made her look aristocratic, with the large red frilly tie in hanging around her neck. Red pants tucked inside her brown boots giving her she was dressed to fight at any moment. Her right hand had a silver gauntlet attached to it, whilst she left had nothing but her bare hand. Laying on the table in front of her, was a black whip, her chosen weapon.

"Barthomeloi Lorelei. It is a pleasure to meet you." Esteban greeted, smiling at the woman before him.

"Your display of magic hasn't gone unnoticed by Mage Association. What have you to say for yourself." Lorelei said, getting straight down to business.

"It was a mistake on my part. The magic I was practicing went haywire and caused such a scene." Esteban blurted out with a smile on his face before Citlalmina could say anything.

"Oh really? Tell me what magic it was." Lorelei commanded, sitting back and folding her arm. "Go on. Tell me."

Esteban's smile froze, not knowing what to say. Any magic he said, this woman in front of him would test it out to see if it will yield the same effect. He has been pushed into a corner and this might cause him and his family their lives.

Citlalmina threw something at Lorelei who caught it. "That is a token given to me by you. I will use it now. The Mage Association would cover this event and you won't investigate any further."

Lorelei stared at the token before looking up at Citlalmina. "If I find out this is another of your tricks to betrayal the Barthomeloi family, I will personally come and hunt you and your family down." She stood up, grabbing her whip and walking towards the door. "And trust me, no one has ever survived one day after I start hunting them." Before she reached the door, she disappeared like a gust of wind, living Citlalmina and Esteban alone in the room.

"We need to cover up Cassis as much as we can." Citlalmina said, clenching her fist. "His eyes would be our chance to win the Holy Grail and our wish would come true."
