Friendzone

I was so tired and slept as soon as Trent left. By 5 in the morning, I woke up on hearing someone opening the door. I thought it would be Ben. I couldn't wait to see him and so I tried getting down from my bed to go to him.

Immediately a hand holded me, stopped me from moving further and just heard a voice saying me to go to bed. It was so dark in the room. I don't like lights to be on while I sleep. So it was complete darkness in the room but I knew it was not Ben from the voice.

I was little scared and tried to reach the switch but he told me, 'Don't be scared. Its me, Trent. I got a call from your brother that he can't make it due to exam and asked me to look after you till your parents come back.'

I felt relief but I still went ahead and turned on the night light. I was able to feel completely at ease only when I could see him. I thanked him for coming over to look after me. I told him that I am sleepy and would go to bed now anyway. So, he need not to stay awake. He said to call him if I need something and went to sleep. I also slept.

When I woke up, I saw him still sleeping. I took my phone and went out to call my parents. Still there is no answer. I called my dad's sectary to know where they are. But he also didn't pick up the phone. I called Ben. He answered immediately. 'How are you now? I am really sorry for not able to make it there. If I miss the exam, I need to redo it. So, I will come as soon as I am done with the exams. I tried calling our parents but I couldn't reach them. I know you might feel alone and might think that your family is not by your side when you are in this situation, I am sorry for letting you be alone. I will come home in a week. If there is any emergency, call me immediately. I asked your friend to look after you. I know you would not prefer that. But take help from your friends till I or our parents come home.' I told him to chill and assured that I am doing good. We talked for sometime. I just sat down on a chair and I just felt so lonely. Though I told Ben that I am fine, I just felt so sad that my family is not with me at this time. Tears started to fill my eyes. At that time, someone gave me a hanky. I grabbed it, wiped my face, said 'thank you' and looked up to see who it was. It was Trent. Before I react, he just told me, 'Maybe it's time to brush your teeth and freshen up'. I was embarrassed and went to freshen up.

I went back to the room and saw him setting up my breakfast. He made me sit comfortably on the bed and moved the table near me so that I could eat. I told him to eat something as well. He grabbed a burger which he bought from the cafeteria and ate with me.

Doctor visited while I was eating and checked me. He said, 'You are good to get discharged. Your legs will take time to heal. Follow up with the physiotherapy. Take medicine properly.' Before I respond, Trent thanked the doctor and went to complete the discharge process.

He carefully helped me get in a cab and we went home. He stopped me from going to my home and insisted that I go to his home, stay there till my parents come. But I told him that I will feel comfortable to stay at my home in this situation. So, he just took me to my home. He helped me to my room and then he said that he will move in here to look after me. I honestly needed someone with me so I agreed and showed him the guest room.
