"Andrew! Get your fucking ass right here, right now, and fight me like a man!"
'Twas the first time that my heart had tremble out of fear and excitement. The person whom I've been looking for was right before my eyes. However, similar from my precedent chances, he had managed to latch himself from his personal chopper.
Moreover, my friends had been completely annihilated and was brought captive unto the enemy's arms. Such escape will prove to be difficult, hence…I was left yet again with zero possibilities in hand.
"You fool! If you want to save them so badly, then meet me at the heart of Tokyo. I'll be waiting for you there, Yuki Fleur."
His voice echoed from afar, as his copter flew farther above, away from my sight. I hurriedly draw my magnum, hidden from my waist, and aimed vaguely towards the flying automobile. However, the bullet had never escaped its barrel.
I lowered my weapon and regretfully gazed in a distant, where the autogiro smoothly fled and left a dusty trail behind. I was too hesitant to pull the trigger, knowing that the distance and the velocity of the wind could've altered the trajectory of my bullet. I knew that I wasn't confident enough to hit him from this view.
I clicked my tongue out from frustration.
The situation was too perfect to begin with, and seeing him right now was neither a blessing nor my demise.
Despite Andrew's grand exit, a figure of a woman could be seen being tossed out from the flying vehicle, at approximately 800 feet high, falling with a speed of 10 miles per hour, heading towards the great wavy sea.
"No no no no. VENICE"
I abruptly dashed and lept forward from the edge of the deck, and swam my way across Venice's crashing body from above. Fortunately, the distance between the two of us was fairly short compared from Andrew, whose sky high beneath the clouds.
My body propelled itself like a dolphin, as I move swiftly underwater in attempt to save my dearest friend.
Eventually, her body came into a cannon-ball crash, and produced a small bumpy wave for me to bathe upon. However, her frame continued to sink; Like a bird unable to fly, her limbs were clasps unto each other, immobilised, and sophisticatedly tied with a black tactical tape.
Her static figure was now producing bubbles, due to the deprivation of oxygen underwater, which also indicated her current sunken location.
"Here goes nothing" Utilising all of the swimming lessons I've been taught about in class, I boldly submerge myself and followed the gurgling path produced by Venice.
The world below was engulfed with massive amounts of kelp either floating or entangled farther underground. The corals underneath could not be perceived by the naked eye due to the evening stars enveloped beyond. The moon and other celestial bodies were quite visible, yet clustered, despite our position in the fathomless ocean.
I would love to stop by and goggle for more, but my dearest companion, Venice, needs me today.
Squinting my eyes, I could finally see the floating figure of Venice sinking like a nail. I didn't mind the burning sensation brought by the pinch of salty water invading my eye. Being able to discern my drowning partner was enough to burn the embers of hope, from what was left deep inside.
I soon hurdled my legs and treaded like a mermaid, as I close the gap between the emerging seaweeds and I. In due course of time, I've finally reached her side, which was awkwardly tangled by the wildest swaying vines.
"Mmgh" Well, I guess that was a foolish decision for me to make, attempting to talk whilst diving underwater.
Pushing my thoughts aside, I took out my knife and cut both of the vines and tape wrapped around her body. The keen edge of the blade went through easily like paper, thus setting her free in moment's time.
Her body was lifeless, despite being unchained.
I was worried for a second that she had might have given up and resigned herself deep in slumber with the waves. Luckily, by placing both of my left index and middle finger on the surface of her neck, I started to feel the faint pulsation coming from her carotid artery. It was weak, but surely enough to announce that she was surely alive.
Soon after, I began grabbing her from behind, and on to her slim waist, and gently rested her on the surface of my right shoulder.
I start paddling upwards, while pushing myself with the use of my freehand, and the other carefully holding her intact within my reach.
'Just a few swim away and we'll be able to get out of here in no time'
I repeatedly cheered myself up and vigorously fluttered across the nearest shore, which was the broad ship stationed at approximately 30 metres apart.
"Come on, Fleur! Come on! I'll be treating you with sweet pastries if—"
To be honest, today's the day that I have pushed my body to its utmost limits. I've never been so tired, so drained, and so freaking miserable in my entire youthful life. But this is all for Venice's sake, and I would gladly—
Let me catch my breath…*phew*
And I would gladly risk my life, my everything, for her. That is why, you…need…to…mooove, young lady. AND DON'T YOU DARE DIE ON ME…LIKE DIONE! I think.
After my sincere conversation, or monologue, with my body, I have now obtain the greatest ascension that man-kind could ever offere upon reaching the deities above; it's a joke, don't take me seriously.
At long last I've never felt so overjoyed upon seeing the dried land…or metal floors of the barbaric cruise. I cautiously placed Venice aside on the warm tanning ledge on the nearby pool, while slamming myself flat on the floor.
Then again, my worrisome demeanour had begun crying for help, wanting to check on the silent, sleeping arms of Venice. I start palpating her pulse once again but…
"Eh?!"
Oddly enough, her pulse could not be felt unlike last time undersea. I soon tried it once more, but this this time, slapping myself in hope to be further WIDE AWAKE, not wanting to produce any thoughtless mistakes. I maybe touching her arteries with the use my thumb… who knows?
"CPR….CPR…Hey hey are you okay?" I fuzzily forced my wobbling legs and crawl on top of Venice, who seemed to be calmly sleeping on this peaceful night. Surely, if we're doing something 'inappropriate' I probably would've been commended by my 'exhibition' efforts of lewding her on the wide open. In spite of which, she is currently in the brink of death, thus…there's only one thing left for me to do.
Recalling a video I had stumbled upon and watched…five years ago, I began placing my hand on the surface of her breastbone and interlocked it with the use of my other hand. Using my own body weight, I started pressing straight down on to her chest and released the compression, allowing the chest to return back to its original position.
"27…28…29…30… then I kiss her, right? I mean, rescue breaths, rescue breaths. Got it."
I gently lifted her chin, pinched her nose, and steadily blew her some air firmly to her mouth.
"GAAA!" My efforts was rewarded after the first try of resuscitation, as she began showing signs of choking wildly, and afterwards sprouting sprinkles of water showering my mouth.
"Andrew?! ANDREW?! W-Where am I? Fleur? Wha-what happened?! Where's Andrew?"
"He's gone"
"DEAD?!"
"NO, IDIOT! I mean, sorry—he escaped. Rode a chopper and…"
"I see"
Her face turned pale after hearing my report.
I gave her some time and stood up from her side and leisurely approached the isolated bar, and grabbed us some cold drinks to spare.
I was reminded from the scene that each and every person…survivors in the ship was brutally slaughtered by Andrew's lackeys, and hurriedly take flight…
Ultimately, stealing Pura's pendant.
They have come and claimed the necklace, but why?
Why did they even killed those innocent lives, and spare us few, even kidnapping them towards their lab?
These were all of the questions left unanswered, as we both sipped our drinks from the little cup and formulate a plan.
"They must've knew who we are and to whom we are working for." I said, satisfied from the idea itself.
"Or…there must've been a third party protecting us?" Venice replied, still deep in thought while blankly staring at the hot chocolate she had requested me for.
"But who?"
A rhetorical question indeed have escaped my mouth. The bitter sweet of wine soon burns my throat, as we both gaze upon the early dawn of morning light.
________Third person point of view_____
Who would've thought that the two women was never left alone in the vast sea of tide? A girl akin from a scientist breached her way inside the cruise, and took the wounded lass and tended her bruise.
But alas, her time was short hence her arrival, so she had no choice but to snuck a note near the comfy berth, which it was written with the girl's own scarlet blood.
: S A V E :
She couldn't afford to waste more time, thus she had the carried the sailor girl away, far from the dangerous arms of Andrew Turner.
Her white gown flutters through the chilling night, and what seems to be resting on the palm of her hands
Was the snow white necklace glimmering in spite?
