Chapter 22- Boss Monster (Part 4)

Chapter 22- Boss Monster (Part 4)

The fight continued as Reo and Cassia completely overpowered the monster and made it unable to even make them stop its rampage for even a second. The discovery of the Uurv king's weak point made the fight way more manageable than before because they now had a specific target to attack.

"Graaaa!!!" The Uruv screeched as it was sent flying again for the fourth or fifth time and smashed into the ground. If anyone looks closely, they can see a blue spot on the monster's side that was the result of the continuous barrage of hits they unleashed on that part. It even became slightly swollen.

"We totally made it lick the grass!" Reo said as he jumped excitedly.

"It is still not over, don't celebrate now," Cassia said coldly and then eyed the monster that was struggling to stand up. Her eyes then shifted to look at the monster's health bar, which was now colored from the low HP.

[Uruv King.]

[Level 8.]

[12/100]

'It's going to start.' She thought to herself and then turned to Reo.

"The monster is about to enter rampage mode. It's going to be hard to get close to it so I will deal with whatever this boss will do when it goes on a rampage while you continue attacking that spot. A few more hits and it should be dead."

"Rampage mode, huh? That doesn't sound like something I would like to be the target of. Are you sure you will be fine?"

"No, I am not sure. That's why you must end it quickly."

Reo squinted his eyes at her with a weird expression.

"I kinda like how you trust me with your life… I mean, account." He commented with a small smile.

"Shut up and focus," Cassia replied and charged toward the monster.

"Whatever you say, princess." He rolled his eyes and ran after her.

After standing up, the monster spat out a massive amount of blood along with small bits of its organs. It had been severely damaged internally from the continuous hits, and so this made it considerably weaker and slower.

"Graaaaa!!!!!"

That was the final straw; the monster had enough of these humans and started preparing to use its one and only skill.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
[Ding!]
[The Uruv king has activated its main skill: Army Generation (Level 3)]
[Monster entered rampage mode!]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Reo skimmed the notifications before he focused again on the monster. It had opened its arms wide and looked up madly. Then, in a disgusting phenomenon, the boss's skin started swelling up like a balloon. Its limbs, torso, and even its head started increasing in size as if they were getting filled with air.

After reaching a certain size, the monster stopped increasing any further and instead did something completely expected yet also very bloody.

*Booommm*

Its body exploded violently and shook the whole place along with it. The bloody mess that happened after that made Reo and Cassia frown greatly.

Bits and pieces of skin fell down on them like meteors. Now, getting dirty was not a problem in a fight like this; the problem was that because of the sheer size of the monster, the heat inside its body was obviously way higher than that of a human. In other words, those skin parts were basically steaming hot.

"Fuck! Is this even fair?" Reo cursed and jumped to the side to avoid the hot organic blankets coming his way.

He kept jumping left and right like a bunny, and each time a skin part grazed him, it left a small burn mark on his skin that made him clench his teeth with pain.

After almost thirty seconds of burning-hot rain, it was finally over. The monster had completely obliterated its skin and was left with only muscles and bones that made it look even more terrifying.

Reo could only shake his head and ignore the burning pain coming from multiple parts of his body.

"Are you ok, Cassia?" He asked loudly.

"Yes." She nodded her head.

As he was about to get ready for the fight, a particularly weird thing made him turn around. The skin parts started wiggling for some reason. The movement was faint at first but increased in intensity over time. After that, the skin immediately started taking a distinct shape that eerily resembled that of a small Uruv.

"Don't tell me…." Reo muttered as everything finally clicked together.

This was the Boss's skill that the system notified him of.

"Don't stop; I will deal with them, so target the boss."

"Understood."

"Graaaa!!!!" The monster screeched again at the top of its lungs and looked at the two of them with its hollow and empty eye.

Then…

*Swish*

It charged toward Reo as fast as it could. Its speed was somehow even faster than before. Reo went on full-alert mode and jumped to the side.

*Bang*

"This is horrible!" He shouted as he was thrown a few dozen meters away before landing on his feet and hands.

*Swish*

Without waiting for a second, the boss charged at him again with the same intensity.

"I am not your target, chunky Uruv." He muttered with a sigh before he ran towards it and jumped in the air.

*Swish*

The boss swung its arms and tried to slice Reo into two pieces mid-air, but the latter used its hands as a support and jumped even higher in the air.

"Go to sleep."

*Bang*

He punched it in the jaw, making it fall down again, and then he landed on its stomach. He knew that hit didn't really knock the monster or do any damage.

He then went on to attack the weak point he knew all too well.

"GRAAAAAAA!!!!!" Another inhuman scream of pain echoed from the boss. That hit alone had reduced its health bar to merely 7 HP.

"One more hit, and it will be over," Reo muttered as he tried to punch it again. But, the Uruv woke up again and shook him off.

"Graaa!!! Graaa!!!!" It grabbed whatever it found and started throwing it at him.

One after the other, a series of explosions occurred as Reo kept avoiding the boulders getting thrown at him.

*Swish*

"This enough," Reo said as he avoided the last stone and kicked the ground to jump higher in the air.

*Bang*

"Graaaaa!!!!!"

The last hit finally came, and the monster fell down for one last time; its body wiggled for a few moments before it finally stopped moving.

"Fuuuh… That was really intense." Reo said and wiped the blood and sweat from his face.

Cassia also ended her fight as she crushed the last Uruv and threw it away. The exhaustion could be seen on her mesmerizing face.

Reo looked at her and smiled slightly before saying.

"Good job, partner." He said.

Cassia looked at him silently and then replied.

"Weren't you against making a team with me?"

"Oh… Well, you know…." He scratched his head awkwardly.

Cassia saw his troubled expression and smiled very faintly. Then, she walked closer to him and lifted her hand up in the air.

"Good work." She said with a calm tone.

"Mmm, you too."

Then, he high-fived her.

"Anway, I think I will be leaving the game to take a shower and sleep. Are you going to keep playing?" Reo stretched as he asked her.

"No, I am leaving too. I am busy tomorrow."

"Ok, good night, then… or good morning if you are from another country on the other side of the world."

After that, he logged out of Paradise Online, leaving Cassia alone in the massive plains. She looked at the spot where Reo was standing and muttered.

"Don't worry; I am closer than you think."
