Basic Courtesy

A person scouted before entering university and given permission to be exempted from both university and college. "Haven't I gone through your memories while you were in that other world?" said the system. Hearing this yuki was surprised and felt a little bit insecure as if this existence knew all about him.

"By the way, what's your name? Since you're not a thing but a person, I'd like to know" asked yuki trying to dissolve his insecurity and divert from the subject. "My name is your name" said the system smirking. "Are you kidding me? I was trying to show some basic courtesy to you as we're both humans" replied yuki furrowing his eyebrows but dissipated it as soon as it formed. "Haha, what can I do if you don't believe me? Nothing right?" replied the consciousness while laughing.

Surprisingly, yuki was immersed in thoughts instead of retorting to the consciousness words. He was a careful and cautious person even though he acted as if he was a carless person, he never doubted the consciousness even for once as he had a gut-feeling he would never harm him. Seeing yuki in thought, the consciousness just deepened is smirk and interrupted his thoughts. "See, I said too much, you say you possess little intelligence but you've already started deciphering my identity and goal even with the little information I gave" said the consciousness.

"Although, you may have been strong when you were still alive but now you're nothing but a consciousness. Don't you think I could just destroy you?" said yuki while also smirking. "Haha, since you know I was strong in my life, did you think you'll be able to be able to destroy me completely. Besides, I'll just destroy your soul before you could have any thoughts of doing anything to me." The consciousness said thinking little of his words.

"From what you've said, I can deduce that you can peek into my thoughts, you are also intelligent, heck it's possible you could rival my intelligence. That's something to be proud of. Also, I deduced that you were someone very important, a true immortal and with strength comes great responsibilities and you being here probably means you failed to perform well in your responsibilities which led to the destruction of a part of your soul." said yuki with his smile getting wider. "You're pretty good but aren't you too conceited, you think I can only rival you in intelligence and not surpass you?" said the consciousness laughing.

"I've not even finished talking yet, I forgot to mention that I also figured that with your overbearing attitude and the way you talk, I believe you were someone who commanded thousands of people or possibly millions too. You also mentioned that you could surpass me in intelligence, do you know how smart I am? Not to brag ok, but if I entered an academy in this world I could easily attain the first place. Have you forgotten, I was the best result in my other world before transmigrating here" said yuki laughing.

Considering the words from yuki, the consciousness knew he had underestimated him. He shortly mentioned the part of coming from the other world but he immediately figured it out and his behaviors and words gave out a lot of his information about his identity, even the part if his soul being affected. "Interesting truly interesting, it's just…a pity, really a pity" the consciousness thought in his head.

"Let's exchange information alright, besides we're alone so we can talk for a long time" said yuki while laughing. The consciousness obviously agreed as he was interested in playing this mind game of his. "Hahaha…" both of them kept laughing to the void or perhaps in relation to each other's thoughts.
