"I wonder what kind of element he'll awaken."
"I guess fire or maybe ice. It won't be some weak element like water or light."
Whispers echoed through the classroom as they awaited their classmate's elemental awakening.
"Why is it taking so long?"
Seconds passed, and Xue Musheng frowned as it seemed Damon was taking longer than usual.
He was about to intervene when the next events left him stunned.
A massive surge of lightning energy burst from Damon's body. The awakening crystal, previously colorless, glowed a bright purple, illuminating the room. Thick arcs of purple lightning coiled around Damon, shooting out erratically and casting a vibrant glow throughout the room.
Boom!
Lightning shot out, striking the walls and leaving black marks, causing the students to step back in fear.
"I-it's lightning! The Lightning Element!"
The students gasped in shock, witnessing the violent display. The commotion even drew the attention of other classes.
"What? Lightning element appeared? Fuck!"
"Holy cow! It's really the lightning element!"
"Damn, Xue Musheng lucked out this time."
Students and teachers alike exclaimed in awe at the dazzling purple phenomenon, which overshadowed any awakening they had ever seen.
"But isn't this too violent? What a high talent."
Everyone watched Damon with envy and amazement. The lightning arcs continued to dance wildly, covering half the classroom and forcing everyone to retreat in fear.
Damon slowly opened his eyes, bathed in the brilliant purple light with countless arcs of lightning flowing around him. He looked like the embodiment of lightning itself.
"Good heavens..."
Gasps escaped from the teachers as they looked at Damon. His black hair danced wildly in the purple brilliance, with lightning swirling around him. The image was etched deeply into the minds of everyone present as Damon gently removed his hand from the stone, causing the glow to dim slightly.
His blue eyes glowed with purple radiance as the lightning subsided leaving the black spots everywhere as an aftermath of the awakening.

"Good, very good. To awaken such a strong lightning element, cultivate hard and make it grow stronger. Remember, having good talent isn't everything," Xue Musheng said with a bright smile as he addressed Damon, already planning a family vacation with the bonus he would receive.
The lightning element is rare, with only one in a thousand mages awakening it. It's undoubtedly the element with the most firepower and best for attack, making it highly valuable. To have a lightning element mage in his class, especially as the first student, left Xue Musheng wondering what good deeds he had done in his past life to earn such a reward.
Damon nodded slightly as Xue Musheng moved on to the next student, Mu Bai. Knowing the future, Damon had no curiosity about Mu Bai's awakening. He closed his eyes again, entering his spiritual world.
Standing alone in the void, Damon observed the small, bright purple cluster of stars—the lightning Stardust—that occupied a small space in the vast emptiness. The Stardust wasn't alone; beside it were three more clusters: a fiery red Stardust, a beautiful silver cluster, and an inconspicuous black Stardust that was not easily visible.
The brilliant radiance of the Stardusts illuminated the void.
'Beautiful,' Damon thought, looking at the colorful Stardusts before him.
With the help of the system, Damon successfully awakened the four elements he desired most: lightning, fire, space, and shadow. He only revealed the lightning element, causing a commotion, while hiding the other three.
Why did he choose only to showcase the lightning element? It was the perfect choice among his other elements. Lightning is a strong and destructive element that Damon would frequently use in combat. Its rarity and desirability would increase Damon's value in the future and in the records of the magic association.
As for the space element, awakening it at the primary level would draw too much attention, possibly making Damon a target for dark organizations. While the lightning element is special, it falls under the seven main elements, unlike space and shadow, which are advanced elements.
And for the fire element? Damon could have followed Mo Fan's path, but he preferred lightning for its value.
The lightning mage is a title with status far above any other elemental mage and can be said a noble branch of mages, this status would be very beneficiary for Damon in the future if he wants to gain a recognition and status without revealing his other cards.
As an apprentice mage, he chose the four strongest elements known to humanity. These elements would be his main focus, and their versatility and abilities would create the strongest foundation possible for him.
"It will be hard to manage all four... but I can handle it."
Although advanced and challenging to manage, these elements were the best choice if used properly. The elements were independent of each other, so he wouldn't need to level them up equally to grow stronger. However, he wouldn't neglect training any of them.
As Damon exited the spiritual world, he noticed a light element awakener rushing to the roof—to fly, perhaps. An amused smile formed on Damon's lips as he watched the water element awakener follow the light user.
One by one more students awakened their elements and Damon watched the ceremony silently under the gazes of his classmates who all looked more focus towards him than ceremony especially the girls.
'Ah being too handsome is a sin'
Damon chuckled with narcissistic thoughts while ignoring the gazes and focusing only on ongoing ceremony.
It was soon time for the 47th student in line, prompting Damon to leave the classroom with permission to go to the restroom. He wanted to avoid attracting Mo Fan's attention when he awakened dual elements. His plan worked; when he returned, the students were celebrating Mo Fan's fire element.
The awakening ceremony was officially over and finally Xue Musheng started to give his first lecture on the magic guiding the students on more about practical magic.
Damon, Mo Fan, and Mu Bai—the three most talented awakeners of Class 8. Seeing them, all the boys in the classroom finally understood one thing:
'Heaven only favors the handsome men'
