Saving the Damsel in distress

" You won't be able to run anymore! I'm sure you have also used all of your MP. Just get killed and give me the class already!" The leader of the group of players, Damien, who survived said, as he swung a Halberd that he brought out from his inventory.

The weapon was a divine class weapon and each attack can deal heavy amount of damage, and Ulbert being a mage would take more damage from physical attacks. His HP stat is not the best, that can deal with multiple full powered attacks from a level 100, who has invested a lot in physical attack.

Ulbert saw the swinging motion of the Halberd and immediately casted the spell [Absolute Barrier] and a Blue barrier surrounded him, blocking the continues attacks that rained on him.

Not only the Halberd that continuesly attacked him, but also magical attacks that started pouring from afar.

This magic is a barrier magic that can only last for a while and it gives absolute protection towards spells that are 10th tier and bellow and any and all normal physical attacks. However, it leeches on players mana just like before. As long as you have mana, you'll be able to maintain the barrier, but the barrier uses mana at a staggering rate. The more attacks the more mana it'll take. Ulbert had mostly learned attack spells and the passive magical spells are his only saving grace, as his mana pool was above average.

At this rate, Ulbert calculated that his barrier would be destroyed in 2 minutes at most, and then he'll be truly helpless.

Immediately he opened up his chatbox and texted Noah, however, he got no reply.

" I'll be getting the [World Disaster] class today no matter what!!" Damien shouted, as he once again swung the Halberd. Every time an attack hit, the mana from Ulberts MP bar vanished little by little.

Seeing that his mana was almost gone, Ulbert immediately took out a high mana potion and consumed it. As soon as he pressed the consume option, his mana was restored. But recently, Ulbert has cleaned his inventory and sorted things out, mostly leaving all of his assets including mana potions in Nazaricks treasury and he didn't had many mana potion on him.

He looked into his inventory and saw, only two more mana potions available. At this rate, he'll only be able to last 10 minutes at most and if they decided to cast a super-tier spell, then he is a goner.

Ulbert felt that there was no hope anymore. He'll lose his World Disaster class, that he was so proud of. He thought, he was a little special in the game because of his World Disaster class but once it's gone, he'll go back to being a normal player, even in the game. Just like in his real life. He'll go back to being a mediocre loser, even in the game.

Even though it was a game, Ulbert has put a lot of time in Yggdrasil. It was not a game for him anymore, it was almost like a second life more like a second home, where he can have fun. In the real life, Ulbert didn't had a family but here, he even had family, in the name of his guild. He even had a bestfriend here called Noah, who, he wanted to beat one day and catch up to in the game.

Although, he fought with Touch Me from time to time and their ideals clashed. Honestly, he didn't hated him and liked everyone in his guild.

Instead, he hated society for how unfair it was towards people like him, who are born poor. His resentment for society culminated into this charachter of his. An evil demon, that wants destruction. But that doesn't mean, he doesn't care about people. He does, but he feels inferior towards people like Touch Me. He can't help it after all. They are successful in real life.. unlike him, who probably will die from overwork, having a fate similar to his parents, or even worse.

Him playing the game of Yggdrasil was another way to forget about the real world. And he thought, he is special. With the class of World Disaster. He can do many things that other players can't do. Everyone needed him here. They wanted him. His guild members and even other players would give a lot to get Ulbert in their guilds and clans.

But now.. Now that he is losing his most valuable asset. His World Disaster class, he can't help but feel like his life is ending. As if this moment was meant to end his good days in Yggdrasil.

Despair filled Ulberts vision and mind, as time passed with each attack raining on him, like a rainstorm.

Now Ulbert was left with his last mana potion. As he drank it, he saw that the barrier was about to break. Before he can even consume the Mana potion, the barrier broke and the Demon player with the Halberd swung his weapon at Ulbert, at a blazing fast speed. Not being able to react, Ulbert flew 20 meters away, as the Halberd hit him.

The mana potion was dropped, thanks to that critical attack.

[You Lost –30HP]

Ulbert saw his HP plummeting at a staggering rate, due to the critical hit and bludgeoning damage.

"Shit! Where the fuck is Noah!" Ulbert shouted, once again. Even though he was in a critical situation, and his eyes filled with despair. He still thought of Noah, because he knew that if Noah was here, no player would be able to hurt him.

Ulbert had known Noah for a long time now.. almost years. Even though he can't say it out loud, but he trusted him a lot. Despite knowing that Noah was also someone like Touch Me who was winning in life. Unlike a loser like him.

But Ulbert didn't had a resentment towards him. After all, Noah treated him like a friend. No he even gave a loser like him respect. Everyone in his guild did too. Despite that he acted like an asshole sometimes.

When he and his guildmates were conquering the great tomb of Nazarick. Ulbert had a very heart to heart conversation with Momonga. Learning that Momonga also had similar situation as him, made Ulbert made him feel a little good about himself. But that only made him feel guilt. Guilt that he is feeling relief in learning the grief of his friend.

Ulbert promised momonga to not have more tantrums with Touch Me. After all, one of their friends left the guild just because of that. Ulbert honestly felt very bad about it. And he blamed himself. But his persona didn't allowed him to take the fault. So he used his resentment towards Touch Me to vent it.

But after having the conversation with Momonga he felt good. He felt that it was fine for him to be there. And fine to be honest.

Yet.. yet.. here he was going to lose all of it. His guildmates will probably wouldn't treat him like they used to once he lost his World Disaster class. It was eating him from inside.

What Ulbert cared about was not his World Disaster class righ now. But how his friends would treat him. That just showed that despite his evil persona. Ulbert was still a human. Albeit a bit broken, due to the world and society.

Once again he got up and tried to run but players started once again raining magic spells on him, making the grim reality even more clear. There was no way of escape now. There was no Noah. There was nothing he could do but succumb to his fate. And accept the reality.

" Now, I can finally have the class of World Disaster. " Damien muttered, as he moved closer to Ulbert, charging up his skill wanting to take down Ulbert all at once with a single attack. He was now feeling and acting like a villain. And for Ulbert, at this moment, he was a villain.

Ulbert looked around and found no one, but surviving players surrounding him. With a glee on their face. Even though their face can't show any emotions and were pretty much stoic, to Ulbert right now, they looked demonic. Though they actually were really demonic, after all, they were demons.

The player charged the skill, as he lifted his Halberd. Ulbert at this moment had already given up on saving his class. He would have to think of new ways to become as Powerful as before, or atleast try to get close to it with some other build. He wondered if Noah would even be friends with him or not. After all, without his World Disaster class, he'll just be another mage player. Maybe even his guild members would kick him out immediately ?

Damien swung down his Halberd and a light of crimson streak shot towards Ulbert. Ulbert had no will at this point to save himself, as he already gave up and accepted the darkness of this world.

But as if the darkness was not all encompassing, a light shone and tore through the barrier, that was placed by the group of players.

The player that has just used his skill looked up, only to see the barrier that they had placed breaking into pieces and disintegrating.

And as if the breaking of barrier was not enough. A familiar, yet at this moment for Ulbert very reassuring voice entered his ears.

" What are you doing Ulbert San" the soft and enchanting voice echoed behind Ulbert, as the strike of crimson light that was destroying the ground shooting towards Ulbert was instantly neutralised by a golden hand of light that materialized out of nowhere. The hand took the strike of light like a papper and crumbled it as if it's a physical object and got inside, back to the ground. The scene was shocking to not only Ulberts eyes, but also the players that were watching it.

As the light of attack and the hand faded into the ground. Everyone looked at the back of Ulbert, where the newcomer had shown his hands from.

There was a figure floating there with two pairs of heavenly wings flapping behind his back. The amethyst robe fluttered, even though there was no wind. The flowing silver hair and a mask that downed that face.

Who could it be, it was none other then..

" Noah!" It took Ulbert a second to register it, but he soon realized who it was, as he shouted his name, almost in a Joyous tone.

The earlier distress, worry, anger, frustration and resentment towards this world and this predicament was gone, it was replaced by gratefulness. As well as the feeling of safety and reassurance.

The negative emotions flooding Ulbert were gone. Even though he was a demon in face, he was a human inside after all. To Ulbert Noah looked like his prince in shining armour right now. He can even see a halo floating above Noah's head, as if he is an real angel. Even though his halo is hidden.

Noah gave Ulbert a light smirk with his avatars face moving.

The players that were surrounding Ulbert looked at the new player that arrived. The barrier that they had placed was not something that could've been broken without the use of a specific super-tier spell. And there were players outside the barrier, that would've informed the Damien, if anyone casted a super-tier spell. For a moment Damien was shocked but it soon faded as another charge attack in his hand was created and he shot it down at Ulbert, who now was jumping towards the player that has arrived.

The leader swung the halberd and a bright streak of crimson strike was shot towards Ulbert. It broke everything including the terrain as it shot towards Ulbert intent on hitting him. Ulbert realized the attack was coming and looked towards Noah instinctively. All this happened in a second. No one was able to process the information fast except their instinctual response. Except Noah ofcourse.

Noah looked at the bright strike incoming. It was a high level skill and if Ulbert took it he would probably die here. Not to mention the strike was backed by a divine grade weapon increasing the damage and Ulbert was a mage with very little hp. Even if he took it and survive from the nature of the attack, it would give him bludgeoning damage enough to kill him.

Noah gave a light smirk, as he swung his arms upward and like a puppeteer commanding a puppet, another hand similar to the one used earlier appeared and took the damage of the strike without as much as a single scratch.

The attack hit the arm straight on as a bright flare of red light shot upwards signifying the animation of the attack. The cloud of dust that had formed was another proof that attack hit him.

Though the players looked surprised that the newcomer had taken the attack, it didn't did anything to worsen it. After all it was only a new player and they can kill him before dealing with with the player with World Disaster class.

Ulbert seeing Noah use his skills to take the damage head on didn't looked surprised. No! He was not surprised and not worried at all right now. After all, he knows the Noah best among all the guild members of the ainz oal gown. He knows how Powerful Noah is. And how he loves toying with players before pking them.

"Sigh~ i thought you could do better." The silky and enchanting voice once again reverberated, as the players once again took stance with their weapon. The leader of the clan, Damien, however, was a little shocked. Although the attack can't one hit ko a person seeing someone being so nonchalant after taking huge damage, he felt a small chill running down his spine. The weird hand type skill didn't help easing his worry.

And... And he felt as if he has heard this voice before. It reminded him of something. Something that he wants to remember, but his mind him wants to forget it.

As the dust settled, Noah's figure was once again visible. His two majestic wings were gone now, as he was now standing on the ground. His feat firmly placed upon the soil.

" Let me show how much better i can do!" Damien shouted, lunging towards Noah, once again. Noah didn't did anything, as he just stood there. However, as soon as Damien got near him and tried attacking with his Halberd a barrier materialized blocking his attack. Just now, he had stacked damage and his weapon was at it's full capacity. Even if the players would've used the 10th tier physical barrier spell, he would've been able to break it. Yet.. he wasn't which made Damien gasp in shock.

It didn't end there, as other players also started attacking Noah. With spells and other physical attacks. Dagger swung down by a mamono with a beast head and the barrier blocked it.. another mermaid swung a spear but the barrier looked it.

Noah looked at the farce, as the players almost comically attacked him but weren't able to do anything.

Ulbert looking at this laughing. The clan leader, Damien was already having a stomach churning feeling, that he is not going to have fun now. He had stopped attacking because the barrier was not breaking.

"You should stop now. It won't do any good." Noah once again opened his mouth, shaking his head as if he is disappointed by them. It made Damien feel irritated at the cocky young master attitude of this newcomer.

Nonexistent nerves bulged on his forehead, as he gave a gesture for his clan members to get back. He then pulled back his weapon and ran back a little away from Noah.

" Let's see how you deal with this." Damien hissed, as he pumped all his powers into the two handed sword that he brought out. It was a guild weapon.

Noah can tell it at a glance that it's a guild weapon. As for how he got a guild weapon on his hand, Noah wasn't interested in, nor was he willing to listen to his rantings.

The color around the player changed, as he readied the huge sword to attack Noah and also hit Ulbert behind him. This was his only opportunity, because he didn't understood what world item Noah was using to block his attacks, but if he can attack before he can activate the item, he'll be able to kill them right ?

Or so he thought, as Noah has already made his move by then.

" I don't want to waste much time with mob Charachters. So I'll deal with you now." Noah's voice reverberated through the ears of the players, as they felt they almost heard it in their brain.

"[Sanctified Shackles]" Noah chanted in a low voice.

Immediately golden chains appeared out of thin air, binding all the players, including the leader of the clan. He dropped his guild weapon, as he felt the chains binding him. Although, he should be able to break the chains with his strength he wasnt able to.

Damien thought it's the 9th tier spell [Divine Chain]. It was only a 9th tier magic and his physical strength should be able to break anything below tier 10 with ease. But he wasn't able to, as he felt his hands and feets binding and was lifted into air forcefully.

The same was done to his clanmates, as they were also binded by the chain and left in the air. The golden chain was shining like a ray of light, almost blinding. And the HP of some of the players had already started depleting because the of the affects the 'spell' have. Even though it should be impossible to hurt a level 100 player with tier 9 binding spell.

" What the fuck is going on!"

" Why the hell am i losing HP ?"

" Fuck! Am i going to lose my divine grade item at this fucking dungeon ?"

" I just finished completing my quest for the new items and it's very valuable, why!"

The shouts of the players started coming from everywhere, as all of the 12 suvriving players looked distress at the thought of losing their items and levels, not to mention losing the access to this Dungeon.

The clan leader, Damien was no exception, as he was sweating behind his avatar right now..

He remembered it now. Finally...

The memory he was trying to suppress.

" Ulbert San, what happened ?" Noah after stopping the players movement looked at Ulbert, who was sitting on the ground because of the tension that left his body.

He really thought, he'll lose the job class that made him the one of the strongest guild members in ainz oal gown today. He was so sad and was almost going to give up on playing as a mage, if it happened but fortunately, Noah saved him. He was really grateful to him for that. And it just reminded him of that time when he first met him. It was also a pretty similar situation.

After Ulbert explained everything to Noah.. Noah heaved a small sigh, as he looked at the players that were trying to break the chain. It's impossible. it's not normal chains. Those are one of his skills. And he has trapped boss monsters with those skills before. Right now, even if they were a world champion they wouldn't be able to break through the skill.

Noah knows how sought out World Disaster class was. After all, he was also planning to get the class sooner or later. Not from Ulbert obviously. He has found a guild called 'Mercenary Magicians' where half of the magicians had World Disaster class. So, he was planning to kill one of them to get it eventually.

It was a prerequisite after all, to being able to caste one of the most powerful spells [Grand Catastrophe]. The most heavy damage dealing spell, one can caste. It goes far beyond super-tier spells and can be said that it's on a tier of it's own. But it takes a lot of mp to cast it. Noah can only imagine what this spell will be like if he used it.

With his monstrous magic attack stat and MP stat. If he starts bombarding [Grand Catastrophe], it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that he can destroy the entirety of the Yggdrasil players.

" Thanks for the Save Noah. I really thought i was a a goner for a while" Ulbert thanked Noah with his voice tinged with gratefulness.

And it was genuine all the way. He really did felt thankful to Noah. After all, he knew that he wouldn't be able to beat the players with just him alone and he knew, Noah had some special class that made him very hard to kill.

" You don't have to thank me. Isn't that what friends do ?" Noah said with a Smile on his avatars face. The Charming smile was almost blinding to Ulbert. He was sure, if he was a women, he would've threw himself on Noah, smooching him. But unfortunately, he wasn't a women, and he didn't swing that way.

Noah meanwhile, He wanted to make Ulbert understand that he was his friend. If he made Ulbert believe that, atleast he would be able to leave some.good impressions on Ulberts NPC demiurge too.

If not, then he is sure that Ulbert will write something like him being his enemy. And Noah wouldn't be shocked, if going to the new world demiurge started chasing him to avange his creators disappearance. And Noah wasn't very keen on Killing any npc of ainz oal gown guild. Wether, it's here or in the new world. Although, they can be revived it still will leave a bad taste in his mouth.

Hearing Noah's answers, Ulbert was really moved. Although, he has always called Noah his arch enemy, Noah has always treated him as a friend. Even going as far as helping him out in many of his endeavours. And right now yet once again, he has helped him. Although Ulbert wasn't good at socializing and didn't have any friends in real, he was really grateful for the guild of ainz oal gown where has friends. And Noah is probably his only friend that despite not being in the guild, is still in his heart holding the first place.

" You are right. We are friends after all!" Ulbert muttered in a daze, as If he forgot about Noah being his arch enemy for a second. He realized that wether it's Noah or his guildmates, they treat him as a friend. Not an object, that can be used and thrown, like his boss in the company he works at. They don't treat him the way they do because he is a powerful mage or because he is useful to them. They treat him like a friend because they genuinely think of him as a friend.

" Huh... so is Ulbert San saying that I'm not your arch enemy anymore ? Have you finally given up on becoming the strongest mage ?" Noah showed a cheeky smirk on his avatars face, as he looked at Ulbert.

Ulbert immediately realized that he had made a blunder and said something embarrassing. And he immediately corrected it. He needed to be in his evil persona.

" I mean! We are obviously rivals! Yeah! We are rivals! Who will always try to surpass each other! " Ulbert coughed and tried to make it seem like he didn't just said something very embarrassing, breaking out of his charachter. Noah laughed and teased Ulbert even more and Ulbert tried defending it.

From the perspective of an outsider, they looked like two vey good friends having fun.

The players that were trapped by Noah in his

'Divine Chain' were fuming with anger, but they can't do anything. They tried doing everything but nothing is working. They tried using spells but it's not working. The spell is being activated and their mana is being used but the spell is not being conjured and instead it seems as if the chains is sucking all that mana..

The clan leader, Damien has really given up and can only wait for his demise.

" Well let's not argue any further. We should deal with those players. " After having a good laugh from Ulbert, Noah finally got to the bussiness.

" We have to explore the dungeon too. So, I think we should pk them first." Ulbert said, as he looked at the players trapped with a Sinister smile..

"Indeed.. indeed.. So, you can do exactly that."

With a flap of his wings that appeared instantly out of nowhere. Noah flew upwards and glanced at Ulbert.

" I'll give you some mana potions in your inventory. Those chains will vanish when you kill them. I'll see you near the next city. See ya. " With a wink and a swipe of his finger, Noah said his good-byes and flew away.. Ulbert recived a notification in his game screen, he saw Noah sent him a few high grade mana potions. But Ulbert was cursing Noah. On outside atleast it looked like that but inside he can't help but smile.

Although, Noah was acting like this, he knew that Ulbert always had a grudge in his heart to players who PK. So that's why, he gave him the opportunity to vent some anger on them.

" Thank you. " Ulbert softy said, as he looked around and a grin that was not shown on his goat face formed.

Right now he really looked like the incarnation of Satan to the players who were trapped by the 'Divine Chain'.

" Let's see if you guy's can survive another Grand Catastrophe." A menacing laughter erupted from his very demonic face, as he started the preparation to send the players to touch some grass.

AN: I rewrote some scenes and the chapter turned out to be 4000 words. i could've cut this into 2 chapters and uploaded two different days. but i didn't. why ? because i love my readers. be grateful (i mean I'm grateful that you read.).

Also! tell me about the Charachters you would like to see as NPCs. some confirmed ones would be: Esdeath, Maple, Asuna (maybe), Uka( from Inari Kon kon), Arcueid, Elaina, Ai Enma(hell girl) Kurumi. you can comment any charachter as long as it has an extensive wiki. I can analyse their charachter and history to create them as close to their originals as possible.
