Chapter 4

After a hefty meal with his clone (in a different form) who was also starting to feel hungry and buying a few average looking clothes for himself, he finally went to the place where he would be able to seek even more information about the city, cultivation and other topics that normal people might not be able to tell him about.

He looked at the entrance of the large building which was the main and largest public Library of the City.

He walked up to the stairs of the Library and frowned when the two guards waiting outside stopped him from stepping any further.

"Commoners are not allowed inside the Library kid. Don't you know this?" the strict guard asked, making him frown.

"But isn't it a Public library?" he asked.

"Hah!" the other younger guard barked in laughter "Public meaning that families of consequences. Do you expect us to all the sons of farmers, laborers and other such people to enter it just because they felt like they dirtying the place for other people."

"But I just want to study. Can't the commoners register themselves or something?"

"No means no kid." The older guard said, losing some of his patience "No Buzz off and bother someone else."

He looked at the two again before he sighed and left the place.

It seems like his caution to wear average commoner clothes so that he won't stand out came to bite him in the ass.

He could have always tried to bribe those two guards but he didn't knew their nature. For all he knew, they might beat him up and try to rob him of all the money he might have.

Plus, there's also the Dark Guild members who had infiltrated the city thanks to the Sacred Family. He needed to be cautious in his steps and try not to gain the attention of some expert so early.

For the next half an hour, he sat in a public bench and looked at the various people walking around. Especially young people who wore high class clothes and looked like they belonged to the Noble families.

He then went to an alley and changed his features to look like an amalgamation of three handsome and noble looking young men. Then he shapeshifted his clothes until they looked like a proper noble's cloth. Expensive but not too eye catching.

He went out of the alley and then walked up the stairs of the Library and was surprised when instead of stopping him, the two guards completely ignored his presence and allowed him to waltz through without any identification check.

He decided to not get frustrated over the whole encounter and walked up to the receptionist.

The receptionist was a bored looking young woman. He coughed to gain her attention and she jerked in her seat before she looked at him and gave him a warm smile.

"How may I help you young master?" she asked.

Young Master? Really?

"This is the first time I've come to this public library. Can you tell me where I can find books on cultivation, demon beasts and the Culture & History of Glory City."

The woman nodded and quickly told him in which section he could find his books.

Then he asked something that he'd been curious about for a while.

"How do you stop someone from stealing your books?" he asked "Like, what's stopping some thief from putting the books inside a spatial ring and leaving."

The receptionist pointed out the second gate inside the Library which acted like a security check up system. It was filled with inscriptions and checked for the presence of any spatial items which the people had to deposit in the deposit box when they enter the library. It also checks the inscription in the inscription tag attached to all the books inside the library and beeps when someone is taking a book with them.

The whole setup was far more advanced than anything he'd expect from people living in a cultivation world and was not something that he'd read about in the novel.

This taught him to not underestimate the people in this world even if they might not have the technological advances of the people from his world.

He touched the girl's hand and mind influenced her so that she'll tell him the truth and not be suspicious of him for the next few minutes.

"And are there any other hidden security measures that might know of?" he asked softly.

The girl shook her head "No. That's all the security measures. Frankly, the people coming here already have libraries of their own in their families so no one really expects people to steal anything from here."

He nodded and felt the urge to change her mind a little bit more so that she won't mind having a secret meeting with him in the nearby alley to have some fun.

He shook his head, controlling the lust he had been feeling ever since he walked out of the Orphanage and simply thanked her before he walked toward the second inscription filled gate being guarded by an old man who looked like he might keel over at any moment.

For a second, he was worried if the Inscription gate would sense the Pocket Dimension attached to him but then he passed through and nothing happened.

He thought about his growing lust and realized that it must have been due to the Libido in the Drawbacks which essentially meant that he won't feel satisfied until he fucks someone twice a day. And his lust would only continue to grow until he does something about it.

He sighed, wondering why he had thought that taking such a drawback would be good for him before he looked at the large shelves to distract himself.

And yes, the shelves were large. In fact, the whole library was much larger than he had first expected.

He tried to ignore the heavy feeling in his balls and walked toward the Cultivation section in the Library.

He saw a few young men and some teenagers doing their own studies and walked and walked until he reached the end of the library which was hidden from the other people and was occupied by a single young man studying quietly.

He walked up to the man and touched his shoulder to gain his attention but also to change his mind so that he would be more open to helping him.

"Hey friend. Can you tell me a few things about cultivation and help me find a Cultivation technique that would be best suited for me."

The man opened his mouth to speak before he closed it and then looked at his books in regret. Then he sighed and closed the books before turning to give him his full attention. "Well, might as well."
