At five o'clock the next morning, before Meng Xiao could rise, Yang Yi was already up.
The housekeeper and driver were also up early. The housekeeper, who had been with the family for ten years, was aware Yang Yi would prepare breakfast for his girlfriend and had exerted much effort to make several dishes that the girl loved: delicious but not fattening. When the driver, Uncle Liu, brought it over, there were two large bags.
Yang Yi arranged the breakfast neatly on a plate, knocked on Meng Xiao's door, and told her that it was a breakfast he had prepared.
"Xiaoxiao, I've prepared breakfast for you, don't forget to eat when you wake up," said Yang Yi as he gently knocked on the door, fearing to disturb her rest. He spoke in a low voice, "I'll leave now and come back later to see you."
There was no reply from within. He didn't know if Meng Xiao was awake and ignoring him or asleep and didn't hear him.
Yang Yi didn't find it strange and he left after changing his clothes.
