As they walked into the recovery room, Paige's eyes landed on Kayden, who was lying in the bed, her eyes closed. Kelvin was sitting beside her, holding her hand, his eyes fixed on her face.
Paige felt a lump form in her throat as she saw her friend, her eyes welling up with tears. She slowly walked towards the bed, Clinton by her side.
"Kayden," Paige whispered, her voice trembling. "I'm so sorry. This is all my fault." She said, her conscious telling her this had something to do with Itzel or their mother.
Kayden's eyes flickered open, and she smiled weakly at Paige. "It's not your fault, Paige," she whispered. "Accidents happen."
Paige shook her head, tears streaming down her face. "I should have been more careful. If only I have heard you when you were calling."
Kayden's gaze drifted to Kelvin, who was watching Paige with concern. "Kelvin, tell her it's not her fault," Kayden whispered.
