Flying in the general direction of Konoha was making me bored. It was at least 5 days of travel at the speed I was going, so I decided to think about some techniques for myself.
When I was thinking of how the Otsutsuki in Boruto used chakra, I quickly came up with the idea to imitate them and create weapons made of chakra. I held the sword I had stolen in my hands and looked at it for a bit. While it didn't have any designs, the shape would still be hard to mimic for the first time.
I stopped midair, came to the ground and let my chakra flow into my hand. I closed my eyes and and tried molding the volatile chakra the way I wanted it to be.
Imagining and visualising what I wanted it to look like wasn't a problem and after intending the chakra to do my bidding, I opened my eyes to the sight of a red chakra sword. It didn't look special at all, save from the red colour, but it was still quite the accomplishment.
I slashed it against a tree, but it wasn't as durable as I thought and broke into chakra upon impact and then dispersed.
'Huh, this has a lot of potential, I should keep looking into this.'
I felt like the Otsutsuki's were using chakra in a completely different way compared to shinobi. It felt more intuitive, as if I just had to impose my will upon the chakra and it would do my bidding. However, since I didn't have an Otsutsuki to ask about this, I let this train of thought go as quickly as it came.
Thinking about it, I simply left my sword there, and getting back on my way to Konoha. I couldn't take it into the village anyway and I could practice making chakra swords while flying.
And that's just what I did, I flew even slower and just started making chakra swords every few minutes. It wasn't draining that much and every 1 or 2 hours or so I came down and slashed a tree.
After 4 days of traveling my sword had the durability any normal one would have, and once I formed it, I just had to be in physical contact for it to not disperse, luckily there was no need to concentrate on it's shape when it was already formed.
During my travel I noticed caravans of merchants down below, some even accompanied by ninja, however I was able to sense them early enough and just went out of their way.
Suppressing my chakra so that not even a sensor could pick up on how much I had was easy enough and there were no upsides of being discovered so I left them alone.
I flew until I thought that I was about a half day's journey away.
From that point on I walked, flying there and accidentally being spotted wasn't in my plans so while it definitely would raise some questions as to how a little kid walked through the forest to the village, it was better than being seen flying.
Walking on a big path through the forest, I could finally see a big gate in the distance. I had already made up excuses for any possible questions that I could be asked so I was giddy with excitement for my time in Konoha.
Standing in front of the gate I couldn't help but be quite impressed, not because of its size or looks or anything, but because of the thin film of chakra barrier that was surrounding the whole village. If I remember correctly, it was a fuinjutsu gifted to the village by their 'allies' of Uzushiogakure.
'Heh what idiots, the Uzumakis were so overpowered but they just let their strongest allies die..'
Once the line cleared and it was me in front, two lazy looking men came into view. One of them glanced at me and asked lazily: "Hello there kid, what's your name and where do you come from?"
Having already thought of a name I answered: "Hello, my name is Akio and I came here from a small village near the Land of Waters, I was traveling with merchants most of the time but then I split off and walked here the rest of the way."
"Hmm alright, quite peculiar aren't you. What did you come here for and do you even have money?"
"I came here because I heard that it's safe here compared to other towns and villages, and my late parents told me to be safe when they died. I also inherited some money from them so I can start looking for work in the near future."
"That is quite the story you have there.. but alright, if you have any trouble in the village I bet you could also look for an orphanage seeing as though you're still a child, but make sure to cause no trouble inside. Now for entry it would cost you 150 ryo."
I pulled out some coins that I had stolen from the guy I got my clothes from and handed them over and was thus allowed entry.
Walking through the village I couldn't help but admire everything. The memories from the anime truly didn't do it justice and seeing it in person was quite the experience.
People generally had a happy vibe to them and everybody seemed content with what they had. I walked around for a while, looking at the different stores, houses and taking everything in.
When it got darker outside I went into the poorer looking part of town to see if I can steal some money. There were fewer shops but it'd be easier to steal some money since I didn't have more than 100 ryo left.
As I was walking I noticed a food stand on the street and the vendor was talking with two customers, so I walked by, making sure that I didn't bring any attention to myself and when I was behind the two customers I activated my Dōjutsu for a brief moment and pulled some notes that were laying to the side of the vendor for my taking.
He wasn't paying attention to his stand and didn't even notice a stack of his money flying away.
I caught the small stash and stealthily walked away back into the better looking part of town. Counting the money, I had made a profit of 1500 ryo and was quite happy with my earnings.
Asking a random person on a street for directions to a hotel, I soon arrived at my destination and got myself a room for the next few days.
I sat on the bed and started meditating. Tomorrow I'd start scouting the village for ninja that were training somewhere to observe, and also look for any Uchiha patrolling the village from the police force to get myself a Sharingan.
I couldn't help but be excited for the days to come.
