Wake of the Forest

Five years have passed.

The roots of Spirit Oak extend throughout Niwen, as if the roots are hands holding up the land of Niwen. Unlike any other spirit trees, the Spirit Oak's roots can be seen in every part of the land; in the pristine water of Luma Pool, within the deep shadows of Mouldwood Depths, upon the freezing top of Baur's Reach, inside the burning sand of Windswept Wastes, and through the deathly mists of Silent Woods....

Despite the extensive reach of its roots, the stature of Spirit Oak remained diminutive in comparison. During these five years, Gumon and Naru took care of the slumbering Spirit Oak and built houses in the surrounding. They knew of the sacrifice Ori made for the land and chose to stay with the Spirit Oak until the very end. Both Gumon and Naru knew that they would not be able to stay with the Spirit Oak forever; nevertheless, the last few decades of their life were their happiest.

When the forest opened its eyes from the slumber, an ancient voice had spoken in its mind:

"The spirit trees all have one duty--to protect and preserve life by establishing rules of nature. You will do the same.....and much more. The time will come and soon you will see the END. But for now, you must choose a word. The Elder Tree chose 'Balance' as the source of his power. The Spirit Willow chose 'Remembrance.' And you, the Spirit Oak. Whatever you choose will determine the fate of Niwen, so choose wisely....."

Forethought

"That is what I have chosen. As the Spirit Oak of Niwen, the source of my power is 'Forethought.' After witnessing how the Spirit Tree was blinded and how the Spirit Willow aged. I want to be prepared for the things that are coming. Preparing for the inevitable would at least allow the little ones some time to escape the darkness that is to come"

When the Spirit Oak spoke his first word, the echoing voice becomes a power that strengthened the roots throughout Niwen.

The ancient voice was surprised by such a choice but quickly regained composure.

"The power you have chosen entails a responsibility greater than you can imagine. The power of foresight is strong yet very difficult to wield. Your path will be a difficult one and will require you to seek the truth washed away by the river of time. Let your guardian collect the memories of civilizations and you need to connect with your kind. That's two pieces of the puzzle for you. The wish you made is too great, so your remaining power can only grant one spirit guardian. Be prepared."

Sorry for the late update. I didn't know there are people who liked it. More interesting plots are coming....
