I'm the Dad

The whole family visited me today' Mom, Dad and Drake. Jerry came too he arrived first with lots of gifts for my incoming baby. Everybody is excited for the new member of the family. Mom and Dad prepared food for me to try. I,m like a queen today, I never imagined I will enjoy being pregnant. They want me to try the sinigang, so bad I just ate before they came. I am not really into sinigang right now.

"Ma, just give me the mango's. I want the sweet mango." I reached out to the magoes. Mom tap my hand and prepare the mango for me.

"Let me serve you' my grandchild is craving for mango. I feel so good to do this for my first grandchild." Mom is indeed ecstatic as she chop the mangoes for me.

"You should had told me that you want grand kids already, I could have made one myself." Drake took the spotlight away from me and my baby.

"Oh no!! Not from you. Fix your life first Drake, you're not ready for this responsibility. What do you know about taking care of babies and raising kids? None. So, shut up!"

"That hurts, as if this baby will have a father." Drake stated.

"I can be the father!" Jerry volunteered.

"This baby will have plenty of Dads. And get plenty of love. I don't need a husband to raise a child. I can do it myself." I explained to the people inside the room.

"Let's not talk about that right now. Let's just enjoy the moment. Tara should not be stressed over that matter." Mom shush Drake and Jerry.

"We can be the Daddy." Said Jerry and Drake together. That is how we are joking aroud when Andrei came. He brought food too, pizza in a box. One by one the visitors leave. Andrei stayed, he probably wanted to talk about something.

"Thank you for coming Andrei. It was a blast seeing everybody including Jerry. Did you all guys talked about this?" I asked curiously.

" No we did not, it just happened. But Tara I want to clear things out to you..."

"What is it. Just tel me."

"I'm the only Dad of this kid. Not Jerry not Drake. Only me. THe rest be uncles not Daddy. I don't want you teaching my kid in the future to call somebody else daddy coz I will be the only Dad of this kid. Do you understand that, coz i will be upset hearing that. I hate it!" Andrei pointed out the incident earlier when he heard Drake and Jerry calling themselves Daddy of the baby on her belly.

"Ok! I understand. They we're just joking, you know? I explained. But Andrei seems so serious about this topic even though for me it's just a silly matter. It's not a big deal.

"I didn't insisted myself on you, coz I'm scared if our relationship gets worst it will destroy my friendship to Drake. It can also destroy our working relationship, even your family that I already learned to cherish, I don't want to lose their respect and their acceptance towards me. But between me and my kid, I'm the only daddy. I will not let Jerry take that credit. I will be jealous even to his own uncle to hear my kid calling anybody except me Daddy." He is definitely serious. He is teary eyed and his voice is loud almost shouting at me.

"You are probably tired Andrei. Just go home." I cut him short, I don't want to have that conversation with him.

"I'm not tired and I'm not leaving until I'm done explaining my point." I regret letting everybody go I should have kept atleast Drake. This shouldn't be happening if another person is here. "Between you and me, you always win. Do you imagine how strong your position is, coz I think its unfair. Because of my fear of losing, my friend, and my position at the company I'm scared to go against you. And I hate it so much!!! I want to keep you with me but you are pushing me away. So much more now that we are having a child. I want my child to have a complete family but you decided things here and you want to be indipendent woman instead. Do you imagine how selfish you are." Hearing all this words from him make me even more disappointed on his actions. We are not in love, our relationship is one sided, we can't go back to this again.

"I'm sorry. But this how we are going to be. If you want to see your kids in the future. Make sure we won't fight." I explained him shortly.

"See, see what you are saying right now. I don't even have the right to be mad." His eyes are tearing but again he easily back down. "You will regret this Tara. I'm telling you.!" When he realized he have nothing more to say, he finally left.
