8.The Trip to Fulfilment 3

Nevertheless, Denise, who was off work, drove into the compound. He expressed worry the moment he sighted Freya's car. Subsequently, he parked and got out of his car. Then, he looked at the security hoping to get any clue as to what awaited him in the house, but could not get any.

“Welcome back boss,” the security guard, who had taken correction from Freya, and manned the gate, greeted.

“Thank you, John. I hope there is no problem?”

“No problem, boss.”

Denise looked at Freya's car again and walked into the house. Then, he saw Freya coming out of the Kitchen, and she gave him a stern look. Then, he greeted joyously, “Good morning, big Sister. Good to see you.”

Nevertheless, she ignored him, and he mistook it for annoyance because of what brought her. Then, he continued, “How is Daniel? I expected you yesterday, but…”

At that point, she interrupted him, and inquired, “What is the meaning of this, Denise?”

Denise, who was astounded, asked, “What are you talking about, big sister?”

“I am disappointed, Denise. How can you be so secretive, to the point that you would not allow any member of your family to know what you are doing? What if she had died in your house, and you knew her condition. Wouldn’t you have brought her over to my house, so I can take proper care of her?”

Denise sat on the couch, smiled and corrected, “Big sister, it's not what you think.”

Freya ignored his claim, and continued with her sermon, “Think of our family reputation, your position in the society…”

Instantly, she was infested by Denise's smile, and smiled too, before she continued, “You are smiling. Anyway, since you don’t want me to know, there is no problem. Don’t bother telling me her name, for I have given her a name.”

Denise, who was still smiling, requested, “And what name did you give to her?”

“Angel. Angel Denise.”

In the meantime, Denise laughed to cover up the tension in him, and said, “Wow! That’s lovely.”

Thereafter, Freya picked her purse to leave before she advised, “Take good care of her, I have taken her to see my doctor, and he said there is no cause for alarm…”

“Another Doctor? When?” Denise asked anxiously.

“Yes. This morning. She was unconscious when I came in. Those are her drugs and her hospital card, I will be on my way. I have to be at the church by 8.00 am,” she informed while pointing towards the drugs. Meanwhile, she picked the card and gave it to him. Denise collected it and scanned through it before he asked, “What about the thing we wanted us to discuss?”

“Oh! Other events had overtaken that, and one of them had been sorted out naturally. We will do that some other time.”

“It's okay.”

“Ahem! Denise,” she called out, when she remembered something,

“Yes, big sister.”

“Kindly make haste, so we can pay her parents a visit and start the marriage process before people get to hear about it. I will inform mom as soon as possible. Take good care of her.”

She advised before she took her purse to leave. Currently, Denise, whose head was filled with many assumptions from her, could not say anything about her advice. Rather, he just greeted, “Have a nice day.”

At Sevenoaks - Louis's Apartment.

Louis's staff members could not believe the scene they saw when they got into his bedroom after pulling down the door. He blacked out at the thought of Olivia being in the camp of rapists and being gang rapped. They found him lifeless on the floor, and lifted him up without questions while they hurried him to the company hospital. He recovered after a short while, and the doctor, Dr. Kadon Quain, noticed that his face color was looking brighter than usual, which could be caused by the absence of food or shock.

“Mr. Bailey, what happened? I didn't expect this from you. You are one of the individuals that hardly visit the hospital,” The doctor inquired.

Now, Louis had put his guard down. He was not the young Chief Executive Officer who was always at alert and careful when dealing with others.

“Doctor, I am losing my mind,” he made clear.

“Before we talk, take your tea, it will go a long way. Do you mind if I order for food for you from the company canteen?”

“Yes, doctor,” he accepted without hesitation. The doctor was surprised that a fastidious Louis would agree to have a meal from the canteen. He ordered for the food via a call and the canteen staff delivered it to the doctor's office, who took it personally to him.

“Here we are. You need it,” the doctor, a thirty-five-year-old family man who joined the company ten years ago. He knew Louis when he was in school before he graduated to head the Sevenoaks Branch of the Bailey International Conglomerate, which had its Headquarters at Dover. He watched him eat his food while he observed his countenance.

“He looked helpless,” he thought as the distraught Louis eagerly ate his food. The doctor, who maintained a face void of expression, took the tray away from him and dropped it on the locker beside his bed. Then he put up a friendly and an encouraging smile before he called out, “Mr. Bailey.”

“Yes, doctor.”

“Can you talk to me as your friend and doctor?”

“Yes. I can.”

To Louis's consternation, he poured his heart before the doctor. After his story, Dr. Quain had to maintain a positive look to give him hope because, his case was hopeless. At last, he spoke as they maintained eye contact, “Mr. Bailey, if I am right, your greatest and immediate need is to have the information on the whereabouts of your fiancée.”

At that point, Louis, was sitting on the bed in the ward, and facing the doctor. Likewise, the doctor was sitting opposite him on a single silver stainless-steel chair, and he began to sob again.

“I was heartless, doctor. I failed her.”

“We may not make any headway if you continue like this,” The doctor cautioned, and requested, “Can I have her contact?”

The naturally cautious Mr. Bailey cast a quizzical look at him before he inquired anxiously, “What do you want to do with my fiancée's contact?”

“I thought I'm your friend and doctor?”

“I apologize for doubting you, doctor. This is her contact.”

Then, Dr. Quain collected her contact and made a call in Louis presence while he watched him with keen attention

“Hello Doc. Good to hear from you.”

“Yes. Good to hear from you, Kiran. I will forward a number to you. Kindly, furnish me with the owner's whereabouts. Thank you.”

“All right doctor. Let me have the number.”

The doctor cut and looked at Louis for a go ahead. He nodded in acceptance. Then, the doctor sent Olivia's contact to Kiran, and they began to wait for his response.

“Let me leave you, and attend to other patients. I will be back,” the doctor announced, and excused himself after he dropped his phone on the bed. Louis was surprised as he watched him walk away without his phone. The doctor did that to avoid any suspicion from him. Louis laid back on the bed after the doctor walked out.

Before the doctor returned, his phone had beeped with a message alert and rang for a few seconds. Louis did not bother checking the message, as he believed it was rude to check other peoples' phone. Subsequently, the doctor walked in and picked his phone, read the message and returned Kiran's call before talking to Mr. Louis.

“This is the response from Kiran. You can read it by yourself.”

He said, while handing his phone over to Louis. He got up from his bed and sat down before reading through the message.
