One Punch Man: Half Asleep Hero

A young woman is attacked by a monster after having given up on her dreams to be a hero. She tries to fight off the monster but is eventually overpowered, after being rescued at the last second, she becomes determined to be the strongest damn hero this world has ever seen. I made the cover, I drew that shit, took me 2 and a half hours. I am gonna be real. I don’t want to edit this or even write season 2, so it’s just gonna be my first public fanfic. I might if it somehow gains traction which I highly doubt. Anyway, this is pretty much completed.

A Cyborg

As I was eating, I heard a large explosion off in the distance, looking over I saw what seemed to be a pillar of flames.

"Oh, did he hit a gas line?" I asked myself out loud after swallowing. Usually that would need fire to blow up, but he might be able to ignite the air if he punched hard enough.

Thermal energy was pretty easy to produce from kinetic energy, so I wouldn't be surprised.

Though I feel like more buildings should have been destroyed if that were the case, but from what I could see there wasn't really anything destroyed.

I'll just ask him when he gets back.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I threw away the bones of the ribs that I ate. I screwed up the sauce a little since I tried to make my own, but I put too much brown sugar in. It made it a little too sweet, but it wasn't too bad.
I heard Saitama walking up the stairs slowly, he was treading lightly though, like he didn't want to be seen.
I peeked my head out the door, "Hey Saitama, what was with the explosion?" I asked casually.
I saw it.
I didn't bother to mention it however.
"Some cyborg guy was fighting a mosquito of his own and burned away the whole block." He said calmly.
'And your clothes.' I thought.
"He did all that for a little mosquito?"
I had turned my head back into my house. I didn't want to stare at him naked.
"It was a pretty big mosquito." At this point Saitama was already up the next set of stairs, and he rushed back into his room.
I am honestly surprised he was so casual about it, but at least it wasn't all that awkward of an interaction.
Might have been for the better.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

A week later, I heard heavy metallic clanging come up the stairs. Well, it didn't actually sound all that heavy, more like light armour clangs.

So not Saitama. He barely wears anything other than his spandex. Saitama hasn't left at all today actually now that I think about it.

Out of curiosity on the sound, I opened the door and saw a cyborg walking toward the staircase to the next floor. He seemed to be on a beeline toward Saitama.

I am curious about this cyborg. According to Drive Knight I should report this, but he hasn't done anything yet, so I think I'll just watch him.

I heard his footsteps come to a stop as he seemed to ready himself.

"Master!" He called out toward the door.

'Master? Since when did Saitama care about teaching anyone? Or about anything other than sales?'

I heard Saitama slowly open the door with a slow creak.

"You really showed up..."

From that I could tell he didn't want this at all. He must have done something stupid.

Wait, was that the cyborg that he said he saved a week ago? That makes a little sense, I guess.

"Uh..."

"My name is Genos, Master." I heard him introduce himself.

I started to feel weird about eavesdropping so I went back into my house and relaxed. I have been doing a lot of that lately.

I have been training, don't get me wrong, but I haven't really fought any monsters as of late, which I honestly should do for a better experience in the future.

For now though I am just gonna rel-

"Enough you idiot! Shorten it to 20 words or less!" I heard Saitama scream suddenly.

"Christmas Christ!" I jumped at the sudden scream.

It seems like that Genos guy probably talked a lot.

Following that I heard a crash upstairs, it was loud enough that I am pretty sure a wall or something like that broke.

I left my room and went upstairs to see what happened. I was half-prepared to the cyborg floored, but when I got there all I saw was Saitama angrily staring at a now headless body.

"There are two more outside." I saw Genos crouched down in the small hallway before the door.

Saitama jumped out as soon as he said that, followed by Genos who said he'd take care of it.

I jumped down as well just to see what everything was about. I feel like Genos ignored me this whole time, but maybe he was the type to tunnel-vision on something.

When I landed a little behind him, he suddenly turned toward me on high alert.

"Who are you!?" He asked, with a deep threatening voice.

I wasn't threatened by it, but he had the voice.

"I live here cyborg, who are you?"

"Likely story."

Genos was way too hostile toward me for some reason. Maybe he was on edge because of what I assume was a monster attack based on the two bodies that were buried by Saitama.

"Genos, she lives here." Saitama said after he complained about his ceiling, which was honestly fair enough.

"Ah, my apologies." His arm that had heated the air around his hand slowly dissipated.

Suddenly Saitama was pulled into the ground by a small pair of hands.

"Oh!" He was slightly surprised.

"M-Master!" Genos rushed to help Saitama.

He didn't need help of course, but Genos didn't seem to know that.

"Oh don't worry, I'm fine. I kind of feel like... a bamboo shoot." Saitama hummed to himself which calmed Genos down.

"Elevated energy levels detected." A robotic voice sounded.

'Another cyborg? How many of these am I gonna see?' I complained inwardly.

In a flash of electricity and a little flames a large cyborg in heavy armour appeared behind me and Genos.

I kind of wanted to try fighting it, and I wasn't going to let Genos' reaction to it being a cyborg distract me.

"You are not the target." He looked at both me and Genos.

They were probably here for Saitama for whatever reason considering they had trapped him in the ground, or at least tried to.

"What's going on? I can't see!" Saitama tried to move his head around.

"Then get out of the ground!" I berated.

Before he could respond, however, the armoured cyborg started it's offense.

"You're in the way!"

It's rather large arms tried to smash Genos, which it probably deemed the more significant threat.

"Don't count me out!" I jumped toward the cyborg.

I wanted to get some practice in and this just so happened to present me with an opportunity.

A/N: Feeling good lately so here is a chapter for another day in a row.

Smile :)

Don't exactly know when to incorporate the dream abilities again, but maybe I'll get to do something with it against Kabuto.
