The battlefield at Marineford was chaos incarnate. Warships surrounded the battlefield, cannons roared, and explosions rocked the icy terrain. Pirates clashed with Marines, but Blake remained calm and collected amidst it all, leaning against a chunk of frozen debris. His sharp eyes were focused on Luffy, who recklessly charged ahead toward Ace with single-minded determination.
Reckless as ever, Blake thought, watching Luffy dodge around the battlefield, fighting off Rear Admirals and Marine officers. Luffy was powerful, but his approach lacked strategy. Blake could already see the weaknesses in his rush—it wouldn't take much for one of the Admirals or stronger Marines to overwhelm him.
Blake scanned the area. The elemental powers of the Admirals were becoming more prevalent, and Blake quickly realized they weren't just strong—they were intangible. Aokiji's ice, Kizaru's light, and Akainu's magma made them practically untouchable.
Blake frowned. How do you counter someone you can't hit?
Blake's mind turned to how he could neutralize those powers. As he mulled over his options, Buggy's shrill voice interrupted his thoughts.
"This is insane! We're all going to die!" Buggy yelled, crouching behind a block of ice, peeking out only to assess the battlefield's chaos.
Blake walked over to him, his expression as calm as ever.
"Red Nose," he called out, keeping his voice steady. Buggy flinched at the nickname but turned toward Blake.
"What is it now?" Buggy grumbled.
Blake didn't mince words. "These guys—Aokiji and Kizaru—they're turning into elements. Ice, light, magma. How do you deal with them?"
Buggy's eyes widened, and he gulped nervously. "Ah, well... they're Logia users, with Devil Fruit powers that let them turn into elements. You can't hit 'em with normal attacks unless—"
"Unless what?" Blake pressed.
"Unless you have Haki or sea-prism stone," Buggy muttered, his voice shaking slightly. "Haki is a rare ability that lets people hit Devil Fruit users, but it's not something I've ever been able to use."
Blake raised an eyebrow. Haki? Devil Fruits?
"Oh my, so that's how people gain all these weird powers; they ingest a fruit that will give them a supernatural power."
Buggy quickly dismissed it, waving his hand. "Bah, Haki is too complicated! It's hard to learn, so your best bet is to find some sea prism stone! That stuff weakens Devil Fruit users, makes them vulnerable."
Blake remained silent for a moment, processing the information. Sea-prism stone being a means of weakening was a bit weird, maybe because devil fruit users have a weakness towards water, but the mention of Haki intrigued him. "Tell me more about this, Haki."
Buggy groaned. "I just told you, I don't know much about it! All I know is it's a mysterious power that some people can use to fight Logia users, but it's not common, and I can't do it!"
Blake nodded, filing away that information for later. Haki sounded like something he needed to learn more about. He wasn't satisfied with just sea-prism stone—if Haki could give him an edge, it was worth investigating.
Blake's attention shifted back to Luffy, who was now fighting his way through a group of Rear Admirals with the help of the Whitebeard Pirates. Massive figures like Marco the Phoenix and Jozu were throwing their strength behind Luffy's reckless charge, creating a path through the battlefield. Further back, the towering presence of Whitebeard himself sent shockwaves with each swing of his massive weapon, causing the very air around him to tremble.
Blake remained in the shadows, watching as Ivankov also lent support to Luffy, boosting his strength with his strange hormone powers. Luffy had more help than Blake had anticipated, which meant Blake could focus on more tactical support.
While keeping an eye on Luffy, Blake continued to experiment with the Mikoto Misaka card, refining his control over the electromagnetic forces around him. He'd already used it to manipulate metal objects on the battlefield.
As Kizaru unleashed a barrage of light-speed beams at the pirates, Blake saw his chance to test his ability to refract light. Using his Mirror Knight card abilities, he conjured a mirror at just the right angle. When Kizaru's light beams struck the mirror, they reflected off, redirecting back into the sky, missing their intended targets entirely.
Blake smirked. Looks like I can deflect the light just fine.
As the light beams veered off course, Kizaru's attention snapped toward the area, his calm and lazy expression shifting slightly as he scanned for the source of the interference. Blake remained hidden, using his long distance and his mirror's medium-level stealth to avoid detection, but he knew Kizaru was now aware that someone had deflected his attack. With his enhanced vision and his eyes, these abilities seem too convenient, allowing him to interfere in situations against high powers even though he transmigrated only recently. This makes him wonder what would be his peak when he trains himself to a great extent.
His style is not in attaining the peak strength of the world, just the necessary power to be free and to protect cherished people. In this world, and according to what Jinbei has told him, he's still a great distance from the needed strength.
It may not even suffice, maybe with much stronger cards drawn with luck.
Blake's attention remained on Luffy, who was now making his way toward the heart of the battlefield, edging closer to the Three Admirals. But just as Luffy neared them, Blake noticed another threat, a man with a unique gaze and a massive sword on his back—Dracule Mihawk, the world's greatest swordsman. Jinbei described this man to Blake, and his strength seems to be immense.
Mihawk's sword glinted in the light as he prepared to cut down Luffy in a single strike. Blake acted quickly, knowing that his mirrors couldn't stop Mihawk's blade, but his control over electromagnetic powers could still be useful.
As Mihawk swung his sword, Blake summoned a precise burst of electromagnetic energy, targeting the metallic components of Mihawk's weapon. The blade veered slightly off course, slicing into the ground mere inches away from Luffy.
Mihawk's sharp eyes narrowed as he examined his sword, sensing that something had altered the attack. His gaze swept across the battlefield, but Blake remained hidden, using his mirrors to mask his presence. He kept swinging his sword, launching devastating sword slashes, but every time, just before the attack launched from his sword, he felt a slight pull on his sword, making it miss Luffy by a hair's breadth each time. Marco, seeing this, calls over Whitebeard's Fifth Division Commander, Vista, to interfere and hold Mihawk back.
Completely unaware of the danger he had just escaped, Luffy continued his reckless charge toward the Three Admirals.
As Luffy approached the Admirals, Blake's fingers sparked with electricity. He watched as Aokiji raised his hand, sending a wave of freezing ice toward Luffy. Blake narrowed his eyes, his future sight showing him the attack's trajectory.
Blake summoned another mirror in a calm, controlled motion and timed it perfectly. The mirror caught the light from Kizaru's next attack and refracted it back, causing the beam to scatter. At the same time, Blake unleashed a magnetic pulse to slow Aokiji's ice, giving Luffy just enough time to break free.
Blake remained in the shadows, his presence subtle but critical in shifting the battle's tide.
"I can keep them distracted, but this won't last forever."
Luffy shattered the ice and charged ahead, undeterred, while Blake continued to manipulate the battlefield, using his mirrors and electromagnetic control to disrupt enemy attacks.
For now, though, he needed to find a way to seek some sea prism stone—it was the only tangible way he could ensure victory against the elemental foes on the battlefield.
Suddenly, he caught a glimpse of something that piqued his interest. A group of Marines fired special bullets toward one of the Whitebeard Pirates. The bullets, which were coated with some stone, pierced the air with a distinct shimmer.
Blake's eyes sharpened. Sea-prism stone?
Without drawing attention to himself, Blake moved swiftly, deflecting one of the bullets with a precise magnetic pulse. The bullet fell to the ground, and Blake reached down to retrieve it. He studied the bullet in his hand, feeling the energy-draining properties of the sea-prism stone. So, this is it.
This small discovery gave Blake a practical way to counter Logia users. He didn't have the luxury of Haki—not yet, anyway—but the sea-prism stone bullet could be a temporary solution. He pocketed the bullet, mentally noting its potential use in future battles. In the same manner, he continuously helps Luffy get through and pockets some sea prism stone bullets, adding them to the stash of little coins he found in the marine's warship.
Blake's attention soon shifted as a new player entered the battlefield near Luffy—Boa Hancock, the pirate empress and one of the Shichibukai. Despite being aligned with the Marines, she had her own agenda, and it seemed to align with helping Luffy reach Ace.
Blake watched from the shadows as Hancock confronted Smoker, who had Luffy pinned down with his sea prism stone-tipped jitte. Smoker was relentless, his Logia ability making it nearly impossible for him to hit without sea-prism stone or Haki.
Just as Smoker prepared to land a decisive blow, Hancock intervened, launching an attack that forced Smoker back. She stood gracefully between Luffy and Smoker, her beauty as dangerous as her power.
"Pirate Empress," Smoker grunted, backing off as Hancock's power became known.
Blake raised an eyebrow, intrigued. This woman is dangerous. He had heard from Jinbei of Hancock's ability to charm and petrify men with her beauty, but he wasn't about to fall for it.
Blake's relaxed demeanor remained unchanged, even as Hancock turned to Luffy with an unusually soft expression. She reached into her chest and pulled out a key, handing it to Luffy discreetly.
"Use this to free your brother," she whispered, her voice sultry and sweet.
Blake's eyebrow lifted slightly at the sight of Hancock retrieving the key from her chest, but he remained unfazed. While others might have been caught off guard by her beauty or the way she pulled the key from such a ... unique location, Blake wasn't one to be swayed by mere appearance.
"This vixen ..." Blake whispered.
He watched as Luffy, utterly oblivious to Hancock's advances, thanked her and rushed to continue his mission to save Ace. Hancock glanced at Blake, her charm radiating even more powerfully now that Luffy had left. She noticed that someone was aiding him from afar, skillfully and timely; she was in awe of the timing of the help given to her, Luffy.
Blake gave her a simple nod, his expression calm and indifferent. Hancock's charm washed over him, but his mind was too sharp, too focused on the battlefield to be distracted.
As time passes, Blake realizes that the chances that Luffy will attain his objective are very dim. Remember now, just before falling from the frozen wave with the marine's ship, the one in charge from the marine's side communicated, explaining that Ace's execution might be earlier than told. He needs to think of a way to shorten Ace's rescue for Bluffy's sake. It seemed that this kid was growing on him.
