“Vincent.” I looked at Jane.

“Ooooh,” she said at the same time as Harrison barked, “What?”

I nodded.

“I told that fucker to fuck off. How did he find you?”

“Good question. Jane. How did he find me?” I winked at her and her ears turned bright red. She grabbed my cup and slinked away to the coffee maker and poured more for both of us, ignoring that the pot wasn’t done yet.

“How would Jane know?”

She straightened her back, strode back to us, and slammed down the cups so hard coffee splashed over the rim. “Because I told him,” she said, chin raised in defiance.

Harrison groaned. “Oh no, you didn’t.”

“Of course she did,” I said.

“Of course I did,” she said, and the three of us burst out laughing.

Harrison flung his arm around her waist and pulled her close, pushing his nose into her temple. “You’re hopeless,” he mumbled and didn’t sound like he meant it. But I agreed anyway. Hopelessly difficult to be mad at.

“Did you talk to him?” she asked.
