Chapter 28: Guessing

After Marcus drove off, another black sport car speedily stopped infront of me while I was talking to Fennie. She was worried about me and asked what had happened earlier. I told her everything about me and Marcus. "He's a massive jerk." Fennie said and I smiles. "Fennie.. Thank you!"

"I don't want to judge him, but it's obvious that he's a jerk and full of himself. Luckily, you're not a fool." All the memories of the past came back so clear, and I hated it. "I'm fine Fennie, really." I said. "I just have to get over him fast."

The next seconds, like teleporting, Lucas was beside me. I was surprised to see him there and my first instinct was to hug him, but I controlled my emotion as we're still in the college compound.

Immediately he asked. "Are you alright now? Feeling ok, sunshine?" I nodded my head. "Are you crying..." He asked me as his hands made their way to my waist.

His worry was eminent and I appreciated it. It made me feel as though someone cared about me. Lucas was pissed of with Marcus.

Fennie asked who's he and I introduced him as "Mr Lucas Yii" to Fennie and Jasper. After having chats for awhile with them, they leave us alone.

...~...~...

Lucas's POV...

While busy having a meeting back with all the department managers, I felt my phone vibrate and buzz in my pocket, I fished it out with one of my hands. I looked at the caller ID and immediately knew who it was.

"Honey, Marcus's right infront of school gate. What should I do?" A text message came through.

"I am on my way, I will be there in 15 to 20 minutes. Stay away from him." I text back and reschedule the meeting. Rush out of the office, drove as fast as I could to the college. Upon reaching the school, I saw Marcus driving off.

Rushing over like a flash of lights, I stood beside her. "Are you alright? Feeling ok?" I asked. "Are you crying?" I asked her as my hands captured her waist. "Sorry, I'm just a little worn out." She gives me a tired smile for reassurance. I leans over and kisses her on the cheek at the school's gate.

Fennie, Jasper and the others were stunned with his attitude toward me. Curious of who he is too.

"Well, who is he. Are you not going to introduce him?" Fennie asked. "He's look familiar. I think I saw him somewhere." She voiced. "Mr. Lucas Yii, my boyfriend." Ruby introduced Fennie and her boyfriend, Jasper to me.

"So she must be your best friend?" I asked. She nodded. "Yup. We were best friends since our first year together." Everyone were watching them.

I turned to look at her clearly, I knew from her eyes she cried. She was beautiful, she had long brown hair that ended mid way from her waist. Her eyes were her best feature other than her high cheekbones and plump lips, her orbs were a gorgeous dark green that shone with happiness.

Except that glow wasn't there at this moment instead there was sadness. I wished I could kick his ass or punch his face. "Don't let me see him again. I will not take it easily this time if he's gonna hurt you again." I said, kissing her forehead.

Then not far away, a guy A suddenly shouted. "That's President Lucas Yii, the CEO of Spark International Corporation, the owner of this college." C said. "Wow!!! he's so damned handsome." A said. "Why's he here? What's their relation?" B said. "I saw him kissing her just now." Not many students known about their relationships, so they continued staring and gossiping about us, with their little guessing in between.

After Fennie and Jasper leave them alone. "I'm sorry I didn't protect you well from him." His voice was breaking but managed to utter this. "This is the last time you with shed your tears for him, Ruby." I whispered and buries my face in her hair inhaling her sweet scent as I silently comforts her.

"Don't be sorry Lucas. Its not your fault." She snapped at me and as she closed her eyes, hot tears started filling them, soon streaking down her cheek. Ruby was crying and she fell into me. I wrapped my arm around her as she pressed her face to my chest. Her tears soaked the front of my shirt as she clung to me, aching inside. Infront of everyone, she felt ashamed that she did not push me away. My priority is her, I don't even bother if everyone were eyeing on us.

"This will be last time I let you cried because of that bastard." He whispered into her ear. "I promise you. I will make you the happiest person. Don't worry! I protect and love you." And softly peck her lips.

I knew he had hurt her badly in the past, but she deserved someone better than him. Someone who can love her the way she was appropriate of, the way she needed it. 'He didn't know how to love her back then. Now he wanted her back. He have to step over my dead body to take her away from me.'

Still hugging her, I suggested to drive her back. No way, I'm going let her drive alone. I called Sam, our driver to get here in a cab soon. Within 17 minutes he arrived, Ruby passed him the car key and we drove back home together with Sam tailing behind us.
