A few hours had passed, and James was still fast asleep in Scarlett's bed. Then, there was a sudden knock at the door.
"James? You in here?" the voice spoke.
James suddenly woke up. To his surprise, the room was empty, Scarlett's make-up table cleaned, the goth decor and posters were gone. He turned his head to find Scarlett's closet had been rummaged through, old clothes and shoes on the floor. It looked like a hurricane had blown through Scarlett's bedroom.
"Scarlett?" James said in a sleepy voice.
"James, it's me, Cadence. Can I come in?" Cadence asked.
"Uh, yeah, sure. Come on in," James yelled.
Cadence walked in and slowly closed the door. She clutched the letter in her hand and went over to sit on the bed.
"What's wrong, Cadence?" James asked,
"It's Scarlett; she left in a hurry. She packed suitcases, took Matias with her and left." Cadence sighed.
James stared at her in complete shock.
