You'll cry when he's older

A few days have past since the departure of the High Mage and her aide, Avel is currently in a baby crib pretending to be asleep while the two parents stood over him, observing their baby.

"Doesn't he sleep way too much? It's as if he's tired of us."

"Don't say that, he's a baby. Of course he's gonna sleep more. You'll cry later when he's active and constantly crying at nights while we're trying to sleep."

"Gugh, I hope that doesn't happen too soon."

"Hmpf", she scoffed at her husband as she happily continues to look over her child.

'Haaah, when are they going to stop looking at me. Go away! Shoo! Shoo!'

The past few days hasn't been easy for Avel. Often times, Gareth is seen playing with the child rowdily as if he was the child himself having a fantasy-filled toy.

There are times where he played 'fly' and threw Avel too high up such that his head hit the ceiling. After a proper scolding, the times when he played 'fly' with Avel were much more hidden from the sights of his wife, though he made sure not to throw the baby too high up as he once did previously.

Then came Elizabeth who continued to keep feeding Avel more times than necessary even when he was too full to continue. This led to the first time for Avel to have had to cry. Nonetheless, both parents were shocked and glad seeing their child whine for the first time.

[As his eyes remained closed, he began to ponder over the discoveries that he made since the past few days.]

'Although they have been kind and doting parents, I need some alone time for myself. It's understandable that parents only wants what's best for their child's growth, so I've more or less 'allowed' to spend time with them with how they would want it. Other times I would pretend to fall asleep like I would now.'

'Ironically, most of the times where I pretend to fall asleep are times where I feel the need to sleep as well, it's just that I pretend to do so a few minutes earlier than I would do so.'

'Over the past few days I've realised that mana is everywhere and so far, I've guessed that my mum can see mana in the surrounding area as well since she 'recharged' the embedded gems in the walls.'

'It's kinda like how the images of the ozone layer on Earth are. Except it's inside objects, people (mum, dad and I) or just moving in thin air, occupying the room or surroundings. I wonder if it's because of the additional moon that is orbiting the planet?'

'It's something like seeing the aurora borealis in a smaller scale version, while happens to be in the room I'm in. That's the 'mana' I'm referring to. I call it mana because it's mentioned by my dad asking my mother to 'recharge' the gems every now and then so I assume it's so.'

'From my point of view, whenever she recharges the gems, she focuses the mana channeled in her body towards her hand attracting the mana in the surrounding area and converging both the mana in the surrounding and some of her own into the gem.'

'Every time I see this process I get amazed at how it works.'

'The way they turn the 'light' off is just by covering each one of the gems in the room. Personally I find it inefficient, but I guess it's times like this that you begin to reminisce and be glad that the modern life that I've lived was taken for granted.'

'However, what's from stopping me to invent such things in my future? I've thought about it for awhile and there are many things I could do in the future. Should my goal be to be the most powerful mage?

To conquer the lands by finding Uranium and threatening countries with nuclear weapons? Or advance technology with nuclear technology?

I do have prior knowledge in doing so. Despite that, the number one thing I need in life before proceeding to do those plans right now is a computer.'

'How am I going to do that? I'm not sure myself. However, I know that using magic I can somehow replicate the procedures of making a small processor filled with transmitters.'

'This plan was made after the fact that I'm able to somewhat view objects as if it were in a magnified state when I focus hard enough. Oddly enough, when I do this, the colour of my eyes turns red on my right and blue on my left'

'It creeped me out at first when I did it to view water in a microscopic level. Then I saw the colours red and blue, realising that it was the colour of my eyes coming from reflection of myself.'

'Hence, I was able to 'somewhat' controls eyes to not appear in those colours when I exhaust myself enough or lose focus on whatever I was concentrating on.'

'A processor will be my secret goal for the time being, I would need something that is able to compute things efficiently for me. My main goal is to study magic since that's the only interest I have maintaining my will to live.'

[To help my main goal I first studied my two parents who were looking away from me right now.]

'My mother seems to have a light blue 'aura' or amount of mana both surrounding and inside her body. It kinda looks like how 'N*ruto' displays 'chakra' in the body. Well, if someone doesn't watch that then imagine the central nervous system and overfill that with a light blue colour. That and add the glow of ozone layer of the earth surrounding her body. That's what I'm looking at right now.'

'However, it seems that for my dad, there isn't any mana surrounding him and that his central nervous system(CNS) is filled with red. Noticed how I said overfill for my mom earlier? His appears to be thin like any other CNS while my mother's appears to have been expanded and bigger.'

'Anyways, when I look upon myself, mine is also red. Perhaps this is the difference between a mage? Being able to store mana in their body? In the novels I've read, they're usually stored in a core or they have a mana heart..'

'Well I've got time to study the language that my parents speak of and magic itself, for now I sleep.'
