Confrontation

The stairwell door burst open, and Eric, Arin, and Eric's mother sprinted onto the rooftop, pursued by the Emporium's relentless agents. The city skyline stretched out before them, a breathtaking panorama of towering skyscrapers and neon lights.

Eric's mother stumbled, her breath coming in ragged gasps, as Arin caught her arm, supporting her. Eric spun, ready to face their pursuers, his eyes blazing with determination.

"Hey kids, you think this is a place you can enter and exit at will? One of the guards laughed arrogantly as they caught up to the trio.

"So you came for rescue when you head the main force is out eh..?

"Senior brother, why bother talk with them? Let's capture and hand them to the Research department, that Lady is a scientist." Another guard added.

"Yeah, Bro. Victor they could earn us more contribution points than what we have gained for this mouth."

"Hehe.. since she's a scientist and those boys too appears somehow descent, then we would be surely promoted." The guards surrounded Eric's entourage, conversing as they gazed at them as free promotion points.

The burly guard in the lead, Bro. Victor listening to all the comments of the guards laughed arrogantly while saying "brothers you don't have to flatter me, I'll surely recommend you guys when I got promoted, or take you as my team members when I become a captain."

"Yee.. senior brother then take care of us in the future"

As they were complementing each other, Eric too gazed at them with confusion.

"Why are they so weak?

Earlier because of the commotion, He dare not spread his spirit sense, but after spreading, he sensed no potent spiritual energy from these guards, including his mother and Arin. Bro. Victor's face darkened as he barked; "take them down and stomp that face of his"

The guards laughed and pounced on them.

"You insolent fools," Eric spat. "I'll crush you all."

Eric charged forward, his fists flying in a flurry of punches and kicks. his movements, lightning-fast, as crushed the thugs.

He dodged their attacks in

ease. In just a moment all the thugs were on the ground twitching.

"Eric paused and looked around, at the guards who are now on the ground then turned to the only foe standing,

"Senior brother, you'll surely receive promotion today" Eric said sarcastically as he walks towards Victor who's trembling in fear.

"You ..who are you? Said victor while stuttering.

"Ooh, now you want to know who I am? I thought we were ants in your eyes, weren't we?
