"Wally, I know you want to protect Bart, but ..."
Starfire gazed at Wally with incredibly serious eyes, "The Teen Titans shouldn't have just disappeared from the world, we've given so much and sacrificed so many people before, we have to pass on the spirit of the Titans."
"I know Bart blames himself for Donna's death, not just him but all the other kids too, but it wasn't entirely their fault."
"It's been a year and those kids haven't gotten over blaming themselves, they live with the guilt! Has Bart seen any of his friends since Donna died? It's definitely not good for them."
Starfire painstakingly explained herself to Wally.
"Only the Teen Titans can help them get out of that past because the Titans are a big family, and only by entering that family can they understand Donna's determination and will at the time, and that they can carry on Donna's legacy."
Wally sighed slightly, "You haven't been able to move on from that past either, have you?"
"..." Starfire lapsed into silence.
"Donna's death hit all of us so hard, and I've been asking myself every day for a year, why was I the one who survived? Why was I so easily beaten unconscious by that robot?" The person who spoke out was Gar.
There were many superhero teams in this world, the Justice League being the most influential and widely known one, but there were far more independent teams that were not well known than the average person would think.
Two of the lesser teams whose members are all made up of teenagers are the Teen Titans, created under the leadership of the first Robin, and the Young Justice League, co-founded by the third Robin.
Donna Troy, who is mentioned by Wally and others as Wonder Girl, is both Wonder Woman's sister and sidekick and one of the founders of the Teen Titans.
Bart, codenamed Impulse, on the other hand, is one of the founders of the Young Justice League.
A year ago, the Titans met up with the Young Justice and were accidentally attacked by a bionic robot in a battle that was incredibly gruesome, with almost everyone on both teams being injured.
Wonder Girl Donna even died on the spot, fighting the bionic robot to the death.
Since the Young Justice League was the first to discover the bionic robot and attack it, triggering the battle, they believe they killed Donna.
The incident led to the disbanding of the Titans and Young Justice League teams, which they called "Graduation Day".
Starfire wants to bring together the former members of the Young Justice League to form a new Teen Titans.
"It's not that I don't agree with Bart joining the Teen Titans, I just don't think he's ready yet, not to mention I'm not sure how much confidence I have in him." Wally said as much to Starfire.
"Perhaps you should ask him his own opinion." Starfire gestured for Wally to look behind him.
Only to see that Bart had arrived at some point and was still standing behind Wally.
"Bart? When did you come over?" Wally asked in surprise.
"I've been here the whole time." Bart waved his hand, full of disinterest.
"Okay," Wally said helplessly as he slapped his head, "Then you should have heard it all, so ... what do you want to do?"
"I think it might be time to meet Tim and Connor and the others." Bart said in an affirmative tone.
"That would be great! You can come to Titan Tower anytime you want, do you know where Titan Tower is? It's on an island within San Francisco Bay, a T-shaped building." Starfire said happily.
`I really don't know if that's good or bad ...ʼ Wally thought to himself.
"Now that things are settled, we'll be heading back to Titan Tower, goodbye Wally."
Starfire slowly flew up and Gar turned into an eagle and flew away, soon the two disappeared into the sky.
"Let's go home, Bart."
Wally said to Bart and left together.
A few days later.
Yuri's car, mirror lab.
In his Gray Matter form, Yuri tapped away on a homemade supercomputer with a large number of holographic projections beside him.
These devices were all built from parts disassembled from the robots.
In fact, under normal circumstances these parts wouldn't be enough, but given the small size of Gray Matter, a lot of the equipment could be made very small, which saved a lot of materials to make something else.
"The value of these robot soldiers is pretty much milked clean, it's time to get out of here." Yuri stepped out of the lab, transformed back into his body, and stepped into the driver's seat.
Starting up the old car, he drove towards the outskirts of the city.
Remaining in Midtown was no longer of much help to Yuri, as Yuri had already met all of the superhumans here, and it was basically hard to come up with a sample worthy of being recorded in the Omnitrix.
"Where should I go? Metropolis? Gotham? Or Coast City? It's all a bit far though...."
Yuri thought carefully. Midtown is located in the Midwest of the United States, while Metropolis Gotham and Coast City are both on the eastern coast. The city can only be reached by crossing more than half of the United States.
*Tok Tok*
Suddenly, Yuri felt two knocks on his car door, but he was travelling at sixty kilometres per hour at the moment and there were no other vehicles visible beside him.
Despite this, Yuri knew exactly who the person who did this was.
"I know it's you, Wally, get yourself up here, the passenger side lock is open."
As soon as the words left his mouth, an extra person suddenly appeared on the passenger side.
It was none other than Wally in his Kid Flash uniform.
"You just got married just a few days ago, shouldn't you be on your honeymoon time with Linda?" Yuri said as he squinted at Wally.
"Flash is away from Midtown for a while so I can't leave here easily, I have to patrol every street in Midtown and Keystone City every day, it's my responsibility and Linda understands."
"Also, I came to see you because I want to talk to you."
If it wasn't for the patrols, it wouldn't have been easy for Wally to find Yuri.
"Looking at the direction you're travelling, are you planning to leave the Twin Cities?"
Yuri nodded, "If nothing happens, I probably wouldn't be coming back."
"Where are you planning to go?" Wally asked.
"Maybe ... Gotham, I heard the average salary there is the highest in the country." Yuri said casually.
"Hahaha Yuri, you don't look like a funny person, but you really are super good at telling jokes, what kind of person in the world would want to move to Gotham?"
Wally couldn't help but laugh, and suddenly, his laughter came to a halt as he saw no response from Yuri.
"Wait, you're not serious, are you? If so, I'd advise you to put that idea to rest, maybe your shapeshifting skills will allow you to beat all the villains in Gotham, but the scariest thing about that city has never been the criminals, it's Gotham itself!" Wally warned Yuri with a serious look on his face.
Yuri gave Wally a strange look, why did this guy react so much when he heard about Gotham? Gotham in the films of his previous life was pretty dark and gloomy-looking with its signature gothic style architecture that you would see almost everywhere, but there was nothing scary about it, right?
Wally didn't continue to go deeper on the topic of Gotham, but instead turned to ask, "Yuri, if you don't have a very clear destination ...."
"Want to consider going down to San Francisco?"
