I could see the sun rise up from the horizon and I've decided that it was time for me to come back to my room before Lyonel wakes up.
I snapped my fingers and I was instantly inside of my small candle-lit room. I decided to spend the whole night scanning the entirety of the kingdom from the castle's roof and I have confirmed that it really is very small.
It's better off as a city rather than a country if not for the huge borders and the giant cliff that's literally surrounding Domhnall.
I opened up the single window in my room and looked at Lyonel. I've stripped him off of his armor and I was surprised that he has nothing underneath his upper body but a thin piece of white sleeveless undershirt. Then he has brown canvas pants and some socks underneath his the iron shoe.
He was definitely entertaining last night. His body is a delight to look at, too. It's amusing how such a big guy would be flustered around a small woman like me.
I've learned a lot more from him as he slept. I didn't even need to use that much of my power to make him talk. He's noisier and bolder when drunk and even confessed that he likes me as we go up the stairs.
I plan for him to take me to town and use shopping as an excuse to explore and meet new people. Who knows, maybe he'll finally say his feelings for me without being under the influence.
I multiplied the money that I have already saved up from the few days that I've been working in the Tavern and it's probably more than enough to call me rich in this kingdom.
I went over to Lyonel and scooted him over so he could make some small space for me on the already tiny bed. I lied down beside him and used his arm as a pillow before wrapping his other arm around my waist.
As soon as I got in place, I closed my eyes and waited for him to wake up.
It took him a few minutes to do so and at first, I felt his breath stop and then his heartbeat skyrocketed. I stopped myself from smirking at his reactions and pretended to wake up as well.
I slowly opened my eyes and his beet red face is the first thing that I see. I gently smiled at him and I hear him swallow a lump in his throat.
"Good morning." I say to him.
"G-Good morning." He replied in a shaky voice.
I sat up and he did the same, but he groaned as soon as he did so. He must be experiencing some hangover.
"Hold on, I'll get you a glass of water from downstairs." I said and went out of bed.
"Did- uh... Did you take care of me?" He asked, as if he doesn't believe in it.
I dumped you on my bed and took off your armor. If you call that being "taken care of", then maybe yes.
"Would you rather Wex or Diago take care of you?" I chuckled and he looked horrified at the thought.
"Thank you." He replied and I nodded at him before going out of my room.
I went to the kitchen and I saw Diago cooking something. He looked at me and gave me a small wave.
"Good morning to you, too." I replied.
"I hope that idiot didn't do anything." He said as he resumed cooking.
He really is just a grumpy grandpa. You'd think that he's a violent old thug but he's actually quite more gentle and more understanding than Cecilia once you get to know him.
"Don't worry, I won't let him." I smiled as I get a glass of water.
"If you say so. Breakfast will be ready in 10 minutes." He reminded and I nodded before I got out.
I returned to my room and saw Lyonel still sitting on the side of the bed.
"Thank you. I hope I wasn't much of a trouble." He nervously said as I gave him the water.
In fact, he was a tremendous help to my information gathering last night. That's hardly a troublemaker in my book.
"You weren't a bother at all." I said and patted his head, making him blush again.
He almost choked on his water, but he desperately tried to regain his composure as he cleared his throat multiple times.
I was about to burst out laughing but instead I gently patted his back.
"Are you okay?" I asked, concern lacing my voice.
"Yes. I'm sorry about that." He said in between coughs.
When he finally stopped coughing, he sighed deeply.
"I can't seem to make a good impression of myself whenever I'm with you. I bet you think that I'm just an idiot." He scratched the back of his head in embarrassment.
An idiot? A little. But he's going to be my idiot anyway, so it doesn't matter.
"Not at all. How can I think less of you when you saved me back then? You're a brave knight, Lyonel." I said as I sat beside him on the bed.
He hummed in reply, probably a loss for words. Time for me to do what I need to do.
"Since it's Sunday today, I was thinking of going for a little bit of shopping in town for new clothes. Maybe I'll ask Ilya or Wex to come with me." I said and his head snapped towards me as he heard Wex's name.
"If-If you want, I'll go with you." He immediately said and I smiled.
"Don't you have any knightly duties today? I might be a bother." I asked, lightly touching his arm. I felt goosebumps suddenly rise on his skin.
"Of course not! I'm free for the entire day!" He blurted out.
"That's great to hear. Come, Diago's already prepared our breakfast." I said and he nodded.
When we arrived downstairs, a rather lively Cecilia informed me that Ilya's already gone. She's most likely at her grandparents' house which she visits every Sunday.
Lyonel and I sat on the bar as Diago laid down our food in front of us. Cecilia then leaned over to us as we began eating.
"And what are you lovebirds planning for the day?" Her eyebrows bounced up and down as she looked at Lyonel with a large smirk.
Lyonel almost choked on his food while I calmly kept eating with a small smile on my face.
"Shopping." I answered her with a wink. Cecilia gave me a thumbs up and patted Lyonel on the back.
"Take care of my best employee!" She laughed loudly.
"Can I go instead?!" Wex asked loudly from the kitchen.
I heard a loud 'thud' followed by a quiet 'ouch'. Diago probably slapped the back of his head again.
