Lesson Three - Part 1

𝑳𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒐𝒏 𝑻𝒉𝒓𝒆𝒆: 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒕 𝒔𝒎𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒃𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒅 𝒊𝒏 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒓𝒐𝒘𝒅.

Cassandra recommended me to a friend of hers; an old woman who looks more like a very buff man named Cecilia Wilde who owns the local tavern. Even Lyonel, who's tall and well-built, looks puny compared to her height and muscle mass. She said that she needed a live-in server to help her around the place.

The Wilde Tavern is a pretty big place filled with more than 10 circular tables that could accompany 5 people each, a bar with 8 seats, a comfort room, and a kitchen that also serves as some sort of reserved area for employees. It also has a second floor with five rooms where the Cecilia and the other three workers live.

"You caught me a goddamn beauty! She'll be popular in no time!" She laughed loudly, sounding more drunk than the patrons in the bar. She heavily patted Lyonel in the back, or rather smacked him, making the smaller man cough loudly and almost stumble.

Lyonel seem to be worried about my employment. It's kind of adorable.

"Don't you have any luggage?" Cecilia asked, turning her attention towards me.

"I'm sorry, but I don't. But I'll buy some clothing as soon as I have money." I stared into her eyes so she won't press about the subject any further.

"Then it's settled! Welcome to Wilde Tavern!" She put her hands on her hips as she looms over me. I stared up at her, mildly surprised at how imposing she looks.

She storms over to the kitchen, probably to introduce the other employees to me. Lyonel took the opportunity to talk to me.

"Are you sure you'll be okay here? This isn't really a place with nice people." He said, eyes filled with concern. He's leaning over me, possibly to block me from the view of the drunk men.

"I'm sure I can manage." I chuckled at him, "After all, I have my own knight in shining armor who's willing to protect me." I tapped the tip of his nose with my index finger.

The way he blushed was simply too phenomenal. His face became so red that you'd think he has a high fever. This is so entertaining.

Lyonel cleared his throat and tried to regain his composure.

"W-Well, as a knight, it's part of my job to keep people safe from harm." He said, looking away from me.

As if on cue, Cecilia comes back with three other people; an adolescent young girl, an old bearded man wearing an apron and another young man who seems like the same age as Lyonel. They looked at me with wonder and curiosity.

"This pretty little thing here is Anaia Omni, our new server!" Cecilia introduced me to the three. I smiled and waved at them.

"I'm Ilya Farrin! Nice to meet you!" The young girl was the first one to speak. She's in high spirits and definitely has a cheerful demeanor. She seems to be a typical innocent child.

"Diago Volund." The old man said in a hoarse voice, eyeing me like how a disappointed father would look at his son's poorly chosen bride. I could tell that he doesn't like me already.

"The name's Wex Craith. It's very nice to meet you, my lovely lady." The young man suddenly snatched my hand and kissed the back of it.

I stopped myself from bursting out laughing because of how stupid he looks and instead let out a small forced smile. He doesn't look too bad. In fact, I could say that he's almost as handsome as Lyonel if not for the fact that he currently looks, and smells, like a wet dog.

I could see Lyonel in my peripheral frowning deeply, making me smirk inwardly. It seems like I've already completely captured him even without using my powers.

"It's very nice to meet all of you. I'll be in your care from now on." I said as I gently pulled my hand away from Wex.

They provided me with an apron that I needed to wear everyday whenever I'm on duty, similar to what Ilya is wearing. She and I would routinely change roles as the waitress and the server at the bar. Cecilia said that she'd recruit two more servers in the future to ease our workload.

Next, Cecilia showed me my room after she forced Lyonel to stay downstairs to watch if anyone would cause trouble while Cecilia's gone. Ilya went to serve some customers at the bar while the two other men went back to the kitchen to catch up on new orders.

My room is the last door on the small hallway on the second floor. It was a simple room with a large wooden wardrobe, a single bed, a nightstand with a lamp, a small vanity mirror and a large window with white curtains.

"The payment for your rent is the work that you do in the morning. We work for eight hours and six days a week, so you'll have Sundays all on your own." Cecilia said as she leaned on the door, watching me pace around the small space.

I personally prefer something bigger and grander with more elegant furniture, but this will do for now. At least the entire building is made of stone and not of wood. The annoying creaking would drive me insane

"Thank you. Will I start today?" I ask, facing her.

"Sure. Get yourself acquainted with the others and Ilya would tell you all you need to know." She gave me a thumbs up while grinning widely.

For the entire day, I was trained by a small girl on how to serve people and what kinds of drinks and food they have to offer. Adjusting to humans have always been easy for me, compared to the others that I know who can't do it properly, so this particular task of socializing and making friends with all kinds of beings is one of my best qualities.

Everything is coming together so smoothly. I hope a challenge comes up soon.
