Chapter 6

Natalie's POV

I tried so hard not to be affected by that person's presence, but it's so difficult to stay calm especially when I felt that person sat on the side of the bed and whispered my name on my right ear.

"Natalie."

I immediately sat up from my bed and tried to catch my breath when I felt someone hugged me.

"Oh my God! Natalie! Oh my God!" My mom screamed in fear while hugging me tightly.

When my breathing went back to normal, I saw dad and my twin brother looking at me with worried faces.

After hugging me, my mom's hands held onto my face and checked if there's still something wrong with me.

"Sweetie what happened to you? I tried to wake you up but you won't open your eyes!" My mom exclaimed while her eyes brimmed with tears.

"Are you okay? Is there anything wrong? Are you hurt? Come on, sweetie. You can tell mommy about it." She said while caressing my face.

I didn't answer, instead, I just let out a loud cry and hugged her tight which made her hugged me back and whispered some soothing words on my ear.

What kind of nightmare is that? It felt so real to the point that I got scared of wanting to sleep again.

After I have calmed down, my parents called my school and informed them about my absence.

"Are you sure you're okay? Don't you want anything else?" My mom asked but I just shook my head as an answer.

"Sweetie, remember that mom is always here for you so don't ever hesitate to call me when you need something, okay?" I nodded as a response because I'm not really in the mood to talk right now. I just want to be alone.

My mom got up from my bed and walked outside my room together with dad and my twin brother.

I lay down on the bed again and covered myself with my blanket. I closed my eyes and tried to sleep, but I just can't. The fear that I have from that nightmare is the reason why my whole consciousness is awake.

Why does it feel so real? I want to forget it, but every time I close my eyes, that nightmare is still the first thing that would come into my mind. I'm scared. I don't actually know what to do.

My eyes widened when I felt someone hugged me from my back. I was about to scream when a large hand covered my mouth and softly whispered on my right ear.

"Shh… It's okay. It's just me. There's nothing to be afraid of," my brother reassured me that made me calm down for a bit.

"I know that you're trying your best to look strong in front of our parents, and wanted to be alone, but I'm your twin. We both know that you can't hide your real feelings from me." He said that made me teared up.

"This is the time where you don't want to be alone in a dark room while trying to fight off those fear and anxiety that's building up in you."

It's true. I'm too vulnerable today to the point that I just want someone to hold me and tell me some consoling words.

"Don't worry, Natalie. Your twin will always be here with you no matter what happens and wherever you go." He whispered and kissed the back of my head.

I let out a silent cry because I could feel the sincerity of my brother's words. I can feel that he's acting as my twin right now despite of the weird actions he's been showing off lately.

I finally tried to close my eyes and after awhile, I didn't realize that I have already fallen into a deep slumber, but this time, I have slept peacefully.

The aroma of the coffee woke me up which made me sit up from lying down. I saw my brother sitting on my chair while wearing his glasses and reading a book on his left hand. He was taking a sip on his coffee with the use of his right hand.

When he caught me staring at him, he smiled at him and lay down the book that he was reading on my study table. He removed his glasses, and walked straight to my direction.

He sat at the side of my bed and took the glass of water on my bedside table.

"Good morning, babe," he greeted while letting me taking the glass on his hand.

"Good morning," I answered before drinking the water that he handed me.

"Are you fine now?" He asked which made me nod my head.

"Are you ready to go to school today?"

"Yeah," I simply answered while giving him the empty glass. He took it and placed it on my bedside table again.

"Then I'll be the one to take you to your school today."

"Don't you have any classes?" I asked while looking at him straight in the eyes.

"I do have," he answered that made me knit my brows.

"Then what are you still doing here?"

"I don't have anything to do this day since I've already took my exam in advance, so that I can take care of you especially when our parents are not around today. In case you're forgetting something, your twin is blessed with intelligence." He boastfully said that made me roll my eyes.

Oh well, he does have a point.

"Where are mom and dad?" I asked since I know that my mom would always be the one who'll wake me up every morning.

"They had some business meeting to attend to that's why they told me to be at your side today," he answered and stood up.

"I made some breakfast, where would you like to eat? Here or downstairs?"

"I'll just go down after prepping myself." I answered which made him nod his head before leaving my room.

He looks normal today. What kind of food did he eat?

I got up and fixed my bed before going to the bathroom. However, I stopped in my track when I saw my complete uniform including my underwear hanged outside my closet.

Oh my goodness! Did he just gone through my underwear drawer?

Okay, I take back what I said about him. That person is definitely not normal, and I guess he will never be.
