Chapter 20: A Maiden's Song
N A O M I
I'm still wearing exactly what I wore earlier in the election. I'm currently walking around my rest house, checking the tables and decorations. The theme for this ball is galaxy. The walls are decorated with blue, violet, pink, black, and white curtains. The tables are grouped by year.
White for freshmen, blue for sophomores, violet for juniors, and black for seniors.
The tables are formed into a half circle, making space in the middle and the stage where the musicians will be playing. All the chairs are colored pink.
"Lady Naomi, would you like to check the food?" A maid asked. I nodded and she led the way to the kitchen. The chef prepared a six-course meal and everything tastes perfect. I nodded at the chef, making him smile. He is a new chef in our company, but he is doing perfectly fine.
"Good job everyone. Sorry for making you prepare a party, out of nowhere," I said with an apologetic look.
"Don't be, Lady Naomi. We are only doing our job and hearing you praise us is enough for us," the head maid of our rest house said, the others nodded in agreement. I only smiled at them and left to go to the entrance to welcome the students. They would be here any minute now.
As if on cue, cars after cars arrived, and swarm of students walked in. I greeted them with a smile and let the maids guide them to their seats. Soon, the whole place is full of students. I even noticed some followers of Hyuna and Du Ho.
"Naomi!" I heard a familiar voice from behind. As I turned around, the whole group greeted me.
Alexa is wearing a red long sleeves dress with a slit on the right side up to her thighs. Nike sported a blue long sleeves dress that is backless, exposing her beautiful back. Thea wore a pink sleeveless dress. Julia sported a green backless and sleeveless dress. All of them are wearing a stiletto that paired their dresses.
The boys are all wearing a tuxedo that pairs the girls' dresses. My gaze stopped at Ares. He is damn hot! He is wearing an all-black suit and his hair is combed to the back, highlighting his perfectly symmetric face. Those long eyelashes, pointed nose, small lips, and that sexy jawline. Damn. He is perfectly hot. I am now asking again, how can a man be sinfully beautiful?!
Then my gaze fall to his body. The suit is perfectly fitted on his beautiful body. Damn, this is too much for me.
Ares slowly walked towards me with a smirk. That smirk just killed me. I just stared at him hopelessly. I saw many beautiful men but he is different. He is simply hot and perfect, that I forgot how to breath. Ares stopped in front of me and took my hand. He then kissed the back of it, making me blush a little.
"My queen, if you love to stare at me that much, please don't hesitate to touch me," Ares stated, making me blush more. I took my hand away from him and hid my face. Then they burst out laughing. This is so embarrassing!
"Lady Naomi? The party is about to start." A maid informed me and I tried to make myself composed.
"You should all go to our table. I have to prepare for my surprise," I said then they all nodded and went inside.
Speaking of the surprise, I am really nervous now. My heart starts to beat rapidly and my hands are shaking. I can do this. Singing and playing the piano in front of a crowd is nothing. I can do it. I kept repeating those lines in my head to calm myself.
I'm the top singer of the school, but only the council and my uncle has heard me sing. Not even my friends heard me before. I'm scared that I might disappoint them so I never sang in front of them. But as compensation, that's the only choice I have left.
I then entered the ballroom where everyone is. The chattering stopped and everyone looked at my direction as I walked towards the stage, where a grand piano is. The maid gave me a microphone and I looked at the crowd before me.
"Welcome to my celebration party. Food will be served as I show you my surprise." As I said those words, the maids and butlers distributed the food. "I hope you enjoy this little song that I will sing for you." The crowd claps as I sat on the seat. The maid fixed the position of the microphone in front of me, then I took a deep breath.
My hands are shaking, but as I press the first key, my whole system got pulled into the music. It made me forget the crowd and I only sang to my hearts' content.

After I played those last notes, the crowd burst into cheers. I stood up, and bows towards their direction. I noticed that some girls are even crying. I only smiled at everyone. Finally, I managed to sing in front of the crowd. I went to my table with the whole group and they all greeted me with smiles.
"That was amazing!" Chase exclaimed, making me laugh.
"How can you sing like that?" Julia asked, eyes squinted. I only laughed at their questions. I just feel really happy, knowing that I succeeded in my first performance.
"Hey, Naomi?" Ares called me while the others are busy chatting. I looked at him with a questioning look.
"Your voice sounds beautiful. It sounds cold, strong, and it contains thousands of emotions that it can easily make someone cry. I really love it, can you sing for me again, in the future?" Ares asked, and I just stared at him. Those beautiful blue eyes looked at me with full of sincerity that I can't stop myself from nodding. What the hell are you doing to me, Ares?
