The Fastest Cultivator?

Several hours later.

Guo Wen walked out of a clothing store with a white dress, looking a lot better than when she had to wear the dull brown set of shirt and pants. Although it had cost 8 bronze, she thought that it was worth it.

Now, she had a wealth of 12 bronze coins, so she decided to go out into the Dark Forest and complete the quest again tomorrow. For today, she decided to spend it reading about demon cores as well as this world.

While walking down the street, she heard a commotion in the street. Looking over, she saw a bunch of players from the American super guild, Lightning Rage, cheering for something while players from the other guilds looked on in envy.

Moving closer, she finally caught wind of what the players were cheering for.

"Congratulations Co-Guild Leader for being the first player to break through to Qi Condensation Stage 2!" one player from Lightning Rage exclaimed.

In front was a handsome, yet arrogant looking young American Man. This person was Lightning Dragon, one of the co-leaders of Lightning Rage and apparently the first person to break through to the 2nd stage of Qi Condensation.

Additionally, Guo Wen learned the cultivation speed of most of the other players. The majority of the other players would require at least 5 days to reach stage 2 Qi Condensation (10 exp per night of cultivation) while some would even need up to 10 days of cultivation to reach stage 2 of Qi Condensation. Only the players who spawned more talented would be able to reach Qi Condensation in 3 or 4 days.

Rounding the corner, the people of Lightning Rage disappeared around the corner and the rest of the players dispersed.

Up in the sky, Bai Lixue also observed this event. Seeing how arrogant Lightning Dragon looked, she frowned in disapproval.

'Hmph' she thought. 'Why is this Lightning Dragon guy so arrogant? He's only in the second stage of Qi Condensation and he's already this arrogant. Although he's quite talented, there are so many more talented cultivators in the Dao World. There's even someone more talented than him among the other players and he doesn't even know it.'

With this thought, she snickered at what Lightning Dragon's face would be like if he knew that another player had broken through faster than he had. Judging from his arrogance, Bai Lixue thought that he would probably blow up or something.

'Whatever, she thought. I like Winter Wind better anyways. She's much more humble and hasn't bragged to anyone else about her cultivation rank, and she's more talented too. I'm not interested in Lightning Dragon.'

After this minor occurrence, Guo Wen continued her journey to the library. Arriving there, she entered the building again and quietly made her way over to the shelves. Picking out two books, "Demon Beast Cores in Cultivation" and a large map, she made her over to a table where she began to read.

First, she read the book about utilizing Demon Beast Cores in Cultivation. She learned that normally, cultivators would have to refine the qi inside of the core to make it their own. Additionally, the same level demon beast core would gradually become less and less effective the more that were used. However, Guo Wen still wasn't really sure how she would cultivate using a demon beast core because she had a game system.

Then, she opened up the large map she had grabbed from the shelf. Apparently it was from one of the village chiefs who had gone to explore the world. According to rumor, he had reached the mighty Nascent Soul realm before dying due to old age around a century ago.

When she opened up the map, she saw a large circular landmass surrounded by water. Looking at the description, she saw that it was labeled "The Lifewood Plane." Zooming in more on where the village was located, she found that the area was called "The Desolate Plains" due to nothing of value being located there. She also noticed that they were on the far south of the landmass in the middle, close to the sea.

Moving closer to the center, she saw that there was an area labeled as "The Prosperous Zone." This area was probably where most cultivators lived. Finally, there was "The Eclipse Land" which was apparently named after the strongest sect of the Lifewood Plane, the Green Eclipse Sect.

Additionally, recorded off to the side were the different cultivation ranks. Qi Condensation, Foundation Building, Golden Core, Nascent Soul, Martial Master, Martial King, and finally, the rumored Martial Emperor. With this new information, Guo Wen now had a good understanding of the world of the game, and now knew what expect to the future.

Walking out of the library, Guo Wen stretched as she acknowledged how productive the day had been.
