“Fantastic,” Coop said softly. “Can you imagine living up here and waking to this every morning?”
I could, with him by my side. I didn’t say that, however. I only nodded, smiling when he wrapped his arms around me from behind. We stood like that, savoring the snow-covered peaks in front of us, until the cold began to take its toll.
“We’d better get back before we turn into snowmen,” Coop said. “But first…” He turned me in his arms and kissed me. It was…a sweet kiss is the best way I could describe it. Not sexual. Sensitive instead. As if he was telling me without words that I meant something special to him. I took it as it was given and returned it the same way, gently, emotionally. Trying to let him know I felt the same. I guess I succeeded because his smile was incandescent when we parted.
