What's Next? (Edited)

"Feeling better?", Dean asked after they finished hugging.

[Mmmhmm]

Kat nodded then looked around at the damages caused by Ha-eun's constant charge attack towards Dean.

The entire Student Housing Office in the 4th year building was ruined as it look like a stampede went through here and crush most of the desks along with various broken computers littering the ground.

Walls itself had human-sized holes everywhere some leading to other sections of this floor while others lead back into the hallways.

Kat chuckled a little remembering old cartoons from seeing those holes then....

.

.

....there was an awkward silence between the two for a few minutes.

Dean didn't know what to say after counseling Kat, so he searched his memories to find a topic related to her. While Kat herself needed some time to readjust her emotions...plus she did feel some shame for acting a little xenophobic against humans. Even though she apologized, it didn't feel like a complete apology to her.

[Listen....I'm really sorry about what I said-]

"So you're a streamer?"

Both talked about completely different topics at the same time causing another moment of silence.

"Umm...you go first", Dean politely nodded for Kat to continue to which she exhale and continued with a slightly different approach.

[I'm not-no what I said about your race was uncalled for. It was a very xenophobic comment that mirrors the racism that plagued human society since the dawn of history. And for that I am sorry.]

Kat stared at Dean while saying her apology to which Dean grinned a little and responded.

"I've already said it was fine, but apology accepted. And I admit I'm also guilty about..."

Dean went on his usual long explanation about doubting Kat and her race, the Paxian, ability to fully feel emotions and not simply imitating them. He even used examples from human history's use of illegal AIs and fictional AIs in media as part of his explanation. So while, Kat's apology was short and concise, Dean's apology was like an essay on why he felt that way and apologize for his behavior.

"....and that's why after seeing your emotional outburst, all my doubts cleared up. So for that, I'm sorry for doubting your species' emotional capacity", Dean finished his long spiel then pushed his glasses up acting a little proud of himself for his first apology to a friend.

Kat, on the other hand, was a little speechless on Dean's tact and almost forgot about his diligent personality. She was quickly calculating a solution to this problem, but accidentally muttered...

[You need to get laid.]

"Excuse me?"

[You're excused from ever giving an apology that lasts longer than 5 minutes.]

"Oh..."

Dean looked a little downtrodden by Kat's comment resulting in his glasses tilting slightly down.

Kat giggled seeing his reaction and reminded herself to teach Dean on giving proper apologies....and getting laid in the future.

[I've noticed you encountered survivors.]

"Oh yeah, Bob the janitor and two students."

Kat was reminded once again that Dean barely knows anyone's name outside of the top 10 despite doing group work with several of them in the past. This reminder caused her to inwardly sigh but decided to continue on and deal with this problem another time if they survive this mess.

[Let's go meet them and I'll even talk about my streaming career while we find them]

"Even reveal yourself?"

[They most likely have an idea after encountering Rae, plus I'm authorized to reveal myself in case of extreme emergencies like this.]

Kat smiled while answering Dean's question to which he nodded in reply and started walking to find the others.

Dean walked slowly as he felt Ha-eun wasn't going to return for a while.

Why?

Well he just found something that Ha-eun left behind to which he felt that it bought them some time knowing how proud and arrogant she is despite being driven insane, so she's most likely feeling humiliated and started thrashing about wherever she is currently.

Dean started asking Kat about her streaming career as she briefly mentioned it during passing time or that time she had a meltdown because....she hates jump scares.

"What's your streamer name and what do you usually do during your streams."

[On stream I go by Kitty Kat to which none of my regular human viewers know of my true origin hehe. And whenever I stream, I usually play most type of games...even h-horror games because my viewers find my reaction 'cute and funny'.]

Kat then changed her outfit to a pink onesie with pink cat ears.

"Too much pink", Dean unconsciously blurted out.

[HUH? WHAT DO YOU MEAN TOO MUCH PINK.], Kat screamed while changing the cat ears back to bunny ears.

"Oops"

[Don't 'oops' me Dean McLovin. What's wrong with too much pink?]

"..."

Dean remained quiet but Kat squinted her eyes at his lack of response, and decided to pressure him further.

[Fine if you won't answer me then I'll paint every possible digital devices pink even the hard light of your sword to pink]

Dean's face twitched at her statement and decided to budge, "It's because pink is a very bright color that overwhelms a person's senses if overused. Meaning your outfit could look better if you mix some other colors to complement pink such as teal, emerald green, or orange to name a few." He then pushed his glasses up as he finished talking.

Meanwhile, Kat's face had a look of horror, not because of what Dean said, but because he has some fashion sense....at least to know what colors mixes well together.

[H-how are you still single if your knowledge of the color scheme is this good. And it's a given you're handsome because you're an Esper. But like how?]

"Do ladies really like guys for such a simple knowledge?", Dean had a very genuine confused look as if he never knew the struggles of men for the past centuries.

Kat had a shocked look then breathed deeply to calm herself as she started to explain the social norms between men and women of the 26th century.

.

.

.

.

The duo finally found the trio of survivors after Kat gave a 'hopefully' helpful lecture on human social norms...to a clueless human.

"So bro-I mean McLovin, is....that your girlfriend? I won't judge bro but is she? Because she's kinda young?"

"Yeah bro also she kinda looks like Kitty Kat"

"These dumb kids..."

"..."

A/N: Lighthearted chapter, hopefully it didn't feel forced. But let me know your thoughts before the heavy stuff comes rolling in. :)

I've edited some past chapters but they're mostly grammar stuff like restructuring sentences to make it sound better or space certain long blocks of paragraphs.

Let me know if I should label some of those chapters as 'edited'
