One

I was back home from school for the xmas holidays just about a week ago; Home had never felt this boring and my parents were out of town as usual. I was left at home with my big sis Janice, who never stayed at home for one reason or the other. She is either at work or at an outing with her man like she calls him.

Obvously I did not plan on coming all the way from school for boredom to kill me never! I decided to take a stroll through the area because I had missed home so much. My area was not the busy type I mean, it was an estate with quite a number of boring neighbours. Most of them do not even come out of their houses for you to catch a glimpse of them smh.

I walked past our neighbour's house and heard someone calling my name before crossing over to the next house. I took a few steps backwards wondering who it could be becuase the last time I checked, the only people who knew my name in the area were two(2) friends of mine.

Suddenly my heart drops! A man in all his glory popped out of the gate and smiled at me; very tall and mascular with all the right physiques and swag.

Damn! I started sweating like a pregnant fish with my heart pounding out of my chest.

How are you pretty? he asked. I couldn't speak for a while; I was blown away by his presence & beauty!

I snapped back into reality and replied with haste. I'm fine and you?

- I'm fine too he replied with a blunt smile.

how did you know my name anyways, I asked with curiosity. But he ignored with a stern look into my eyes and invited me to come in.

I'm sorry I can't come in now, I'd like to continue with my stroll I insisted.

-No problem but can I have your number at least?

Uumm you don't need my number I said jokingly,

why!? he asked furiously.

I mean we live opposite each other so why would you need my number?

Idk who he thought he was but he must be dumb to think I give out my number to strangers so easily "I said in my head."

"Come on pretty I just wanna be your friend okay I mean no harm"

"Fine" I reached out my hand for his phone, dialed in my number and gave it back to him.

"yeah I'm Kelvin" he interrupted.

Okay Kelvin, nice meeting you! I smiled and waved him bye.

-See you later pretty! He replied.

I continued my stroll, feeling proud of myself for making a new friend in my area. All they say about me is that I am "too known" and "antisocial". It was true for the antisocial part but i never saw myself to be "too known" like they tag me. I smiled and shook my head reminiscing over these thoughts.

Finally, I reached home very exhausted from a long stroll. I quickly rushed to the bathroom for my evening bath and was out in 20mins. I put some powder on and wore my favourite "hello kitty" pyjamas together with my hair bonnet. I pounced on my bed and fell asleep before I could realise.

I knew in my heart and soul that I had fallen for Kelvin but was I dreaming?
