New World!

"Ugh!" Rex patted his butt as he stood up. He had just been sent out of the tunnel through the vortex and appeared in the air. Falling Rex didn't know whether to cry or laugh as if life was playing a sick joke, reminding him of his first time dying. But when he fell to the ground he suffered little to no damage other than mental.

Looking around Rex could see that he was sent to an abandoned campsite. Feeling a little excited Rex searched around the campsite and noticed that although it was abandoned it was left only a couple hours ago.

Walking into one of the tents Rex searched around and found a couple of things that could be useful.

First was a book in a language he didn't understand. The next was a small amount of supplies that seemed to have been hastily left behind. A backpack with some sort of beef jerky like meat and a small sack that held water.

"Hmm, all these things including the backpack looked to be somewhat advanced. I'm in a modern world?" Mumbling to himself Rex then took out the smartphone from his pocket.

He looked at the apps and clicked on the <Language Translation App>. There were a few functions on it. He clicked on the camera one.

Although no camera's could be seen on the smartphone it somehow still managed to capture the otherside. He then hovered the smartphone over the book cover and the strange words started to change on his smartphone screen.

The book was finally readable. The titled said "Guide to Picking up chicks!". As soon as Rex saw this he instantly had the thought of tearing the book apart but stopped himself.

'Maybe it has a little bit of information about this world.' Rex calmed himself with this guess.

He then turned the page and looked over on his smartphone to read it. After turning to page 30 Rex grew silent. He looked at his smartphone's battery at it was at 16%. He quickly powered it off and understood a few things.

'First of all in this world the best way to pick of a girl was to give her a special mana jewel ... Sh*t! Why did I even read this book!?!. Ahem, apparently in this world money was divided into 4 currency. Copper, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. The way they see the female gender seems to be one of worship as well and other than that my smartphone seems to lose battery faster when I use one my apps.' Thinking this Rex created some plans for his future.

Obviously he couldn't just base how the world worked with just one book. For that he also understood one other thing.

'I need to get some sp fast!'

He was losing battery too quickly and knew that he needed to get that self recharge or he would be doomed. Luckily this abandoned camp had enough supplies to last him about 2 weeks without having to go search for food or water.

Rex then thought about a small idea on how to gain sp. This small idea had to do with the Daily mission and also the Mission apps. All of them were quite expensive in terms of storage space and he knew that this meant they were quite important.

Rex took his smartphone out and opened up the Daily mission app.On the screen showed this.

[Daily Missions] (Completed: 0/5)

<Daily Mission (1): Dance for 10 minutes.>

Reward: +10 sp Condition: Uncompleted

<Daily Mission (2): Talk to yourself for 10 minutes.>

Reward: +25 sp Condition: Uncompleted

<Daily Mission (3): Strip naked and run around in a circle for 10 minutes.>

Reward: + 50 sp Condition: Uncompleted

<Daily Mission (4): Remember a sad memory to make yourself cry real tears.>

Reward: +100 sp Condition: Uncompleted

<Daily Mission (5): Experience a near death event.>

Reward: +200 sp Condition: Uncompleted

<Time Till Mission Resets: 17:44:31>

Seeing all of this on is phone's screen Rex grew bewildered of the daily missions. Looking at them he realized that the sp gained seems to double after the second daily mission all the way till the fifth one.

This was great as it allowed him to get a good amount of sp but the main problem was tasks given by these daily missions.

Along with the doubling of sp per daily mission the difficulty of completing the daily mission also seemed to increase. As the first one was just dancing for 10 minutes all the last one was to experience a near death event.

Rex sighed a bit. He realized that he wouldn't be able to complete all these missions. Even if the last daily mission reward was tempting Rex wasn't dumb enough to go through a near death experience for it.

Rex completed the first three daily missions all together. He took his clothes off and started to dance in a circle really quickly. He also spoke to himself the whole time while he did this. He was even trying to complete the fourth daily mission along with the rest of the other missions but it was harder to make oneself truly cry than the other things so he finished them in 10 minutes but he was still trying to make himself cry.

As he was putting his clothes back on he started to think about how his childhood. He looked back at the memory of the serial killer. In his eyes this person was not someone that deserved to live after what he did to his parents.

Finally remembering them small trinkets of tear drops flowed from Rex's eyes. At that moment he had completed the fourth daily mission. The smartphone sent him a notification stating he had just completed it and now he only had the last mission.

Rex didn't even think about it as he thought that 185 sp was already really good. He only needed to do this 3 or 4 more times to get the solar self recharge upgrade.

Thinking about this made Rex feel hyped up. He went into one of the tents that was holding out better than the rest and looked back at the book in his hand.

He tried to think about what he should do now. He couldn't waste anymore battery rereading this book at least not when he needed it for the daily missions. When he got the solar upgrade he would then reread this book and try to find some deeper things in it.

Although he wasn't sure what type of deep stuff could be in a pick up book. Rex also didn't waste his time doing nothing when he completed those four daily missions. He also started to train his body a bit.

He first did some basic upper body training and then lower body training. Last but not least he then did some yoga to lower the chances for his body to get injured from training.

Like that the first day went by without a hitch. Almost as if he was in easy mode he quickly woke up the next day and checked out the new daily missions. The first three daily missions were the same as before but the fourth daily mission changed and he had to do 50 push ups continuously.

Uh! it wasn't an understatement to say this day was probably the hardest Rex had ever trained in his life. With pure will power and some luck he was able to finish the 50 push ups, but the fifth mission was too crazy!.

It asked him to do 1,000 push ups continuously. He didn't even think about it. At that moment he had just done 50 push ups and his arms felt like noodles. He couldn't even lift them up by a little bit.

Rex laid on the floor for about an hour or two before he felt like he could move again. He looked around and noticed that it was getting night time. He went back to the tent he was slept in before. He looked at the starry night sky and felt a sudden amazement.

Before he didn't notice it but only now did he realize how beautiful the night sky could be. Rex had lived in the city before and with artificial lights it was almost impossible to see the countless stars in the night sky.

Now looking at them he couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement towards this new world he was in. Looking at the three moons in the sky Rex silently made a promise.

'I'm gonna enjoy this life and go on fun adventures!' Thinking this Rex went back into his tent and went to sleep ready to wake up for another day.
