Beginning of the Married Life :1

It was the third week since his so called wife slipped into coma.

Sushant made himself an instant espresso as he waited in the hospital lobby for his so called father in law to arrive.

Saxena still couldn't believe it was all reality and not a plot from one of his stupid crowd impressing romantic novel.

A pseudo marriage, the misfired bullet shot and now this vegetative wife attracting so much media attention.

Sushant sighed as he made himself comfortable in the hospital lounge.

He cursed mentantally as he sipped his coffee.

Tara Chowdhury had been a perennial irritation for the past six years but Sushant Saxena was one of those people who knew how to turn tables. This marriage was yet another example where he was ready to play all possible dirty cards to secure his own goal.

In this case, an ascent to the Minister level.

He had set his mind to a state of complete limbo when he walked in to marry the fake Miss Popular, Tara Chowdhury. She was hot and intelligent, but for Sushant she was an irksome entity, about to be used parallely as a ladder and a doormat. That day, he immensely enjoyed torturing her silently as he dragged her through the crowd or hold her close with unnecessary force. He was an inch away from getting his sought after revenge. Everything was going as he visualized.

But then a moment changed everything.

One wrong shot.

The bullet was not supposed to hit her. Its purpose was to shatter some glasses, create some controversy , give the limelight and in turn boost the vote bank for both Sushant and his father in law. Everything was calculated.

But that rogue of a woman decided to move abruptly right at the wrong moment and now Chowdhury and Saxena were busy blaming each other in private for this mess.

To make things worse, Tara was the one in lime light and the INPP core committee was debating the chances of Tara winning a seat with the help of the current public sympathy.

No one was even discussing Sushant Saxena.

To make things worse, a few of the media houses even hinted about things pretty close to reality. They didnt get the whole truth but some elements of truth was already in discussions and if public believed even 10% of what was discussed, Sushant's political career would be over even before he could sign an autograph.

That girl was the perfect example of hazardous radioactive material.

Sushant cursed mentally. Again.

" Sir, your wife is finally coming out of the coma", the voice of an attendant broke his trance.

Sushant didn't even realize he was running until he had to stop to catch his breath. He could see the hospital people rushing in and out of the room. Sushant decided to wait outside and let them complete their work.

He would have his entire life to take his sweet revenge. But now was the time for execution of Plan B since the epic Plan A was already ruined.

The man silently watched the hospital staff completing their chores and finally the time came for him to step into the room.

Tara looked dazed and pale.

Was it sympathy he felt?

Sushant was not sure.

But the girl looked blank and confused.

" Er.... hi Tara", Sushant decided to break the silence.

"Sushant", she acknowledged.

" Three weeks girl. You almost killed us with anxiety", the untruthful man blurted out smoothly.

" Not intentional, but, if that breaks the ice between us, I am happy that being in a coma made you change your attitude... "

Sushant saw the girl panting in exhaustion just after uttering a single sentence.

Sushant frowned and paused for a moment.

The girl was either too weak or too clever.

With so many eyes watching them, he needed to be careful.

Sushant pulled his mental guard higher and patted Tara's head in fake affection.

The girl smiled weakly as her eyelids started dropping .

" Sir, if I may interrupt your sweet moment.."

A nurse gave Sushant the breather he needed and he slipped out of the room as the Hospital staff started pondering over Tara.

He whistled merrily and put back his sunglasses.

"Welcome back Tara... you are going to enjoy the roller coaster ride", thought Sushant as he stepped out of the Hospital in front of a group of journalists posing a bright smile and a" V".

"Game on", thought the man as his men guided him to his car.
