“I’m Owen… Andy’s boyfriend,” Owen said, pointing towards me through the door as he extended his hand to shake Luke’s.
“Of course you are,” Luke stated dryly, not reciprocating the handshake. “I’ll let you two… catch up,” he added, backing away from the door.
Luke pushed past me, and I reached for his arm but he yanked it away.
“Surprise!” Owen sang, pulling me in for a hug as the kitchen door slammed shut at the other end of the house. “Pshh… who’s that dick?”
I pulled back and yanked Luke’s beanie off of my head. Then stared blankly, trying to wrap my mind around everything that had just happened.
Owen’s face was confused. “Err… did I interrupt something?” he asked suspiciously, noticing my disheveled state.
“No, of course not. That’s Luke. He’s… he’s a family friend of… Bill’s… err my dad’s. Come in,” I stammered, leading him into the living room.
“Why do you smell like smoke?”
“Owen, what are you doing here?” I said, flustered and confused.
