Ella only took a few steps up the stairs and could hear the butler's words.
"From immediately on, you must pay attention to your curfew, Mrs. Ella."
"What are you saying?" Ella stopped her steps, turned back to where Beatrix had been standing.
Unfortunately, the butler had disappeared, faster than Ella expected.
Ella sighed in annoyance, slightly disliking Beatrix's behavior tonight. The door to her room was visible. Ella was accelerating her pace until she could finally touch the doorknob, which was cold.
Slowly she opened the door to her room, looking at a room that was dark because of the lights she had not turned on.
"Mmmm... I feel so tired today," Ella muttered as she walked.
Usually, Ella's room was kept bright, but tonight even the window blinds were tightly shut.
Was it Beatrix who turned off the light in her room?
Ella threw her bag on the bed and took off the brown coat she had accidentally let fall on the floor.
