7. That is You

7.

Brina, Luna's best friend, who had been intently focusing on the laptop screen, jumped in surprise at the sound of the door slamming. She turned her head towards the door with bulging eyes as Luna walked in with a messy face. Her body was stiff, her short hair matted, and her face swollen, with a few strands of hair stuck to some of her cheeks.

When Luna finally got to the bed, she flopped onto her back and turned to face the ceiling. It was clear that Luna was restoring her erratic breathing pattern back to normal. Luna was crying in silence as her tears simply ran down her face due to her extreme emotions of anger and sadness.

It really looked pathetic and worrying. Brina stayed in her seat without speaking. Because she was aware that Luna had likely recently experienced a traumatic event and needed some time to collect herself, she purposefully avoided approaching her. Brina gave Luna that time.

Luna remained silent with her mind wandering, and Brina was deeply absorbed in reading some articles on his laptop.

"Has that person been found yet?"

Luna finally spoke up. Brian turned to the bed and found Luna still lying down.

"I found some people with that name. Since you don't know the surname, I sorted out a few people that I thought had potential. Do you want to see?" offered Brina.

Luna took three deep breaths, then got up and sat up lazily.

"I'll take the laptop over there, okay?" Brina offered once more.

"No need." Luna woke up from her bed and walked over to her desk. She pulled up another chair so she could sit next to Brina.

"Where are they?" Luna asked.

Brina then scrolled through several profile pictures of handsome men of varying characters. Some were so skinny, some were quite full, some were so tall, some had oval faces, and so on.

"Here he is!" yelled Luna, staring at the photo of a man on her laptop screen.

"Huh? Are you serious? This is the person you met last  night."asked Brina, the friend who had deliberately skipped class, in order to meet Luna.

"Yes, that's right. This is the person I met last night," Luna replied with confidence. Her index finger tapped enthusiastically on the laptop screen.

Then Brina, who was using a laptop, simply stopped talking and took a serious expression. She leaned slightly forward to read the entire profile of the handsome man with the trim sideburns. Meanwhile, Luna, who was previously standing next to Brina, then threw herself onto the bed.

"Isn't it true that he's a CEO? I checked last night."

"Just a moment." Brina ignored Luna and refocused on her search.

After a moment, Brina swiveled in her chair and looked at her best friend with wide eyes.

"Are you sure you're not mistaken? Did you actually meet him?"

Luna responded by nodding her head. Brina carefully scanned the man's profile as she fixed her attention on the laptop screen.

"Same name and same person. The only difference is the sideburns on his face. Last night, his face was very clean. It's impossible for me to say he's a fraud if the data exists," Luna said.

"But it's also impossible for your sister to let go of that man for Joshua. That man's wealth is far above Joshua's."

"Could it be that they had a fight and this marriage happened because Leah wanted revenge?" Luna asked, wondering to herself.

Brina laughed so much that her body shook. It was obviously a funny thought because Brina recognized Leah as a materialistic woman. Leah had no intention of readily relinquishing control of her affluent prey, regardless of how painful it might be.

As proof of that, Leah ignored her kinship with Luna and snatched her sister's lover to be her husband. It was a careless deed, yet Leah did it.

"That's impossible, dear. That kind of revenge undermines Leah's own value," said Brina.

Luna was silent. Then she got up and went back to the bed. This time, Brina followed, and the two sat on the bed, facing each other, with Luna leaning back. Brina then noticed the red mark on Luna's bottom cheek, close to her jaw.

"What's wrong with you, Luna?" Brina's hand reached out, trying to touch her best friend's cheek.

Luna winced in pain. It stung and ached a little in the molars.

"Did you fall?"

Luna shook her head weakly.

"Leah punched me," Luna replied as she recounted what had happened in the kitchen.

At first, Luna didn't cry at all. She described what had transpired with feelings of both outrage and upset. But as Luna described how her mother had shielded Leah, her defenses gave way. As soon as she started crying, Brina gave her a bear hug.

Brina offered to get a cold drink, but her best friend refused. After a while, Luna stopped crying. Brina offered to get a cold drink, but her best friend refused.

"That cheek of yours needs to be compressed. You don't want to look your worst tomorrow. I'll go downstairs to get the compress, okay?"

"No need. I'm fine," Luna refused. "There's something more serious than this wound of mine."

Brina adjusted her seat, beginning to focus on listening.

"I proposed marriage to Mama."

"What?!" Brina squealed in surprise, unable to believe what she had just heard.

"Yes, I asked for a wedding on the same day as Leah."

"That's crazy! How can a wedding happen in one night?"

"He said it can. He said that as long as I said 'yes', then he could make a much more special wedding than Leah and Joshua happen in one night."

"And you believe that?"

"You've read his profile. Does he look like he has any doubts about making that happen?"

Brina mused. With Galen's'srofile as the only son of a centimillionaire, it was certainly hard to doubt the man's ability to make things happen in such a short period of time. With just a click of his finger, Galen could do a lot.

"And did you tell your mom you were marrying a CEO?" asked the curious Brina.

"No, I didn't. I didn't mention his name either."

"Did your mom agree?" asked Brina.

"She wants to discuss it with Papa first. But I asked her not to tell Leah."

"Well, why am I getting these palpitations? You didn't tell him to get ready? Well, just in case your wish is granted."

Luna smiled, her arousal rising. The ache in her cheeks and the pain in her heart faded away. Luna was already imagining her sister's face, who would be shocked by her marriage to Galen. Revenge was ready to be launched as soon as Luna called Galen.
