Kira said nothing and silently stared at the mask in his hand. The third great shinobi war was the longest and the worst war when it came to losing lives and resources. For 4 years, the other hidden villages launched skirmishes against Konoha but as time passed, and the fights got more heated, it evolved into a full fledged war.
A war that lasted for 2 more years before the other villages were forced to sign the peace treaties. It was a war where the originally, good minded akatsuki was forced to become what it was in the anime.
Obito was crushed by a rock and was brainwashed by Madara, manipulated so well that he was sent out exactly at the time when Rin was stabbed. Turning him into one of the final villains.
And lastly, the third raikage had to face an opposing force of ten thousand shinobi of the hidden stone village single-handedly for three consecutive days and nights, in order to allow his comrades to escape to safety. Unfortunately, he died due to chakra depletion.
Kira stood silently, staring at his mask as he asked himself one question; 'Do I really have the join the anbu? I still have a few other things that I wish to do before the war moves on from minor skirmishes to full scale attacks.'
*********
Outside of Konoha, at the borders of the land of fire.
Kira leisurely walked around the town as he bought various things from the street stalls. As he munched on the food, he walked towards a small inn which had a reputation among the old men for being a gathering spot for gamblers and card game lovers.
A few months ago, Kira was given an offer to join the Anbu, but he rejected the offer after thinking about it a bit. In actuality, it was an order from "The Hokage", but since Kira was his student and didn't wish to do it, Hiruzen let him go.
After all, just the simple fact that he was trying to put a 10 year old into the anbu was a literal proof that he was breaking the rules that the second hokage had set.
'My chakra control is SSS and I'm done with improving my bugs, so now's the best time to find Tsunade and ask her to teach me her hidden technique. Though, I wonder if she'll accept it easily.' he thought as he walked into the inn.
This was the 28th place he had tried since the past few months, but luckily for him, he finally managed to see a familiar, but also unfamiliar face.
A cute girl with short black hair stood beside a door, seeming guarding it. She was a few inches taller than Kira.
As he walked towards her, she turned to look at him and just when she was about to stop him from moving closer, she saw him take out a familiar looking headband.
"Shizune right? I'm here to talk to Lady Tsunade." Kira said as he showed her his headband.
Shizune eyed the skewered meat and various different foods that Kira was carrying before she spoke, "You'll have to wait. She's busy throwing her money away..."
"Is that so... want some?" Kira asked as he had noticed her gaze and when she nodded, he gave her half of his stash before talking about medical ninjutsu.
It was basically just human anatomy, but since chakra was involved, the subject wasn't as complicated as it was on earth.
Minutes slowly trickled by and Shizune finally began talking about her medical prowess and how she'd been practising her skills.
Even in the anime, she was one of the very few who was able to become one of the top medical ninjas, only being overshadowed by Sakura because she decided to graduate from being trash.
As for Naruto, he was simply blessed by Hagoromo and was suddenly able to use the broken ability, an access to yin-yang release that allowed him to create things from nothing. Even though it was temporary, it didn't change the fact that Naruto got things easily handed out to him.
"-so by using a lot of chakra, I can create tails for the rats on which I practice my medical ninjutsu by imagining the structure of the cells. I also need to use the formulas and diagrams that Lady Tsunade gave me for assistance." she said before describing how she has to imagine a tail, the insides of a tail including the cells before she could use this technique.
Kira continued to nod, but the curiosity in his heart grew the more he discussed with her.
What would happen if she imagines the wrong cells and tries to create things? What would happen if she uses her cell creation technique on areas other than medical ninjutsu? And what would happen if she is put in a position where she has to recreate a new limb for an amputated person?
Unable to control his curiosity, he took out a kunai and looked at Shizune, "Shizune, can you recreate a finger just like you do with rat tails?" he asked as he decisively chopped his finger off even before she could respond.
Blood quickly gushed out from the artery while his pinky fell to the ground after getting chopped off his hand without any resistance. He kept his eyes on Shizune, but the only thing he saw was panic on her face.
She looked around, turning her head left and right, trying to find help even though she was a medical ninja herself.
".... stop the bleeding first. There's no need to create new cells for that, is there?"
"y- yes." she stammered as she moulded chakra together and brought it on top of her palm before submerging Kira's chopped off finger stump in the green glow. The blood flow slowly decreased and after a few minutes, a new layer of skin formed on top of it and sealed off the wound.
Kira looked a little disappointed, but it wasn't too much as he knew that she would reach the level of being able to create limbs from nothing in a decade or two. Even then, he felt depressed when he saw his pinkyless left hand.
