Rescuing the Prince in Distress

The next day, Hash was ready to get back to the court. Everything he will do must be legal, otherwise, the other princes will make a hole out of it and could cause his career or life.

But before he could go out of his mansion, two soldiers came in rushing.

"Your highness!" They saluted.

"Tell me about it, I'm in a hurry." He said, fixing his belt to make himself prince-like inside the court.

One soldier chin point the other, signaling him to break the news. The other soldier shook his head, hands on his side, standing frozen. The other turned his head and pointed his chin again.

They all know how much the prince cared for Princess Isabel.

"Your highness, L-lady, I mean Pr-princess." He swallowed, his own saliva unable to continue.

"I don't have time for this. Get out of my way."

"The Byzen men captured Princess Isabel the other night, and she was in the dungeons right now."

In Byzen. The crowned prince was curious about what the future monarch of Novalia looked like.

She looks different. She probably belonged to some race in the North. Her creamy white skin looks exotic, and she had slanted eyes, which were very unusual, but looked beautiful.

"Princess."

Prince Khalid slightly bowed his head to acknowledge her crown. But was looking at her like she's a piece of strange species.

Oh, right! this must be the first time the prince saw jeans and t-shirts, much more a woman in jeans and a t-shirt.

"Good morning, your highness." No one trained her on how a princess should act, but she acted of what a cultured young lady from the twenty-first century.

"Bring the princess her breakfast and take her to a room so she can rest."

But he was still inspecting her and her outfit, undoubtedly. And Alas! he really can't figure her out, so he subconsciously placed his hands on his chin, pondering further.

Hmm, good politics! She was an official political prisoner, but not bad.

She really was hungry and tired.

"You will be under my care for a little while until your husband will finally agree with our conditions."

He spoke, but his eyes focused on her rubber shoes.

She was thinking of political asylum.

But instead of a comfortable lounge, they brought her to a dungeon and gave her a sour bread, that she thought it's a few days stale.

But since she was so tired, she lied down sideways on the floor to sleep; she needs to restore her strength if she wanted to escape.

She unintentionally heard gossips from the guards that there are Byzen spies in the dungeons too. But because she was so exhausted, sleep took her over.

She was still in a deep slumber, suddenly she was gasping with warm water splashed on her.

"Hash! help I'm drowning."

If she's not too angry at what they did, it would have embarrassed her. She threw laser beams on those soldiers that threw water on her.

They were laughing at her distress.

"What do you do that for?" She yelled at them.

They just shrug their shoulders and left. What they just throw water randomly here?

Not a few seconds have passed since the warm water turned cold. It made her uncomfortable.

She can't sleep anymore she studied the lock, to get herself out of the dungeon.

She has no interest in prison breaking before, so she didn't study lock mechanisms. The door and the lock were iron-made. She reached her hand out and felt the lock as if it has a hole but she found none.

She can't believe she's stuck in the ancient dungeon and can't believe she couldn't think of anything.

"Damn it!" Disheartened, the smartwatch she wore light up when she hits the wall with.

Oh, how smart the watch is. It didn't even light up when the portal chuck her up in the middle of nowhere.

She blew air from her mouth and sat on the floor. She squeezed her brain to produce results, but nothing.

Her hunger added up to her problem. A palace guard brought something in a jug. She can hear the keys jingling on his waist.

She looked at the keys as if t will travel to her hand through telekinesis. Shame, she got herself into supernatural, but she couldn't move objects. That would be a cool power, though.

Come on think! she pushed herself to beyond her thinking capacity.

"Wait!" she called out to the young guard. He ignored her, but even if he didn't, she still didn't have something.

The dungeon guard took his time wherever he went to. By the time he came back, he noticed her doing a jumping jack.

"Erm, what are you doing?" Her actions looked suspicious to him.

"Oh, I was conditioning my body, you know." Come on Isabel, think harder. Her own self is bullying her already.

"Stop that." He ordered.

"Why?" She shrugged but continued jumping.

"It's not allowed." His answer was vague, she's sure he made that up.

"Says who?" she pried. The dude didn't even know who she was and why she's here.

"The prince." His voice still has traces of puberty, but he sounded arrogant.

"Okay, I'm a nobody, remember that. But I have something to tell you about the king."

She crossed her fingers, hoping he would believe her. The kid looked at her from head to toe and back. She looks pathetic as of the moment with her clothes wet.

"Believe me, come see this." She turned on her wrist cam.

"There's a mirror on my wrist, you can see yourself in her, it'll show you something."

He was curious about the mirror she was talking about. Isabel made sure she captured his face with the camera and take a shot.

"Now I had your soul inside my device." She made an evil laugh.

She showed him his photo. She made an impression that she trapped his soul inside her watch. The boy was so horrified.

"G-give me back my soul, please." He whimpered, and it was echoing inside the dungeons.

"I can if you will release me." She smiled sweetly. Like she didn't bully him a few seconds ago.

"B-but." The kid hesitated.

They heard footsteps coming she had to have the key before someone else finds it out.

"Quick! give me the key or I will destroy your soul."

He handed her the keys, and she rejoiced. She still has some tricks on her sleeves. She made a mental pat on her back.

When the footsteps arrived, it was some guard bringing in another prisoner.

"Move out of the way, you wimp!" guards larger than the boy came.

Her eyes popped up with what she saw. It was Hash!

He blinks his eyes, signaling her not to talk to him. Why was he caught? Did he fail in the battle?

That's impossible. There's only one way to find out.

"Madam, give me back my soul." The kid whispered.

"Not until I'm out of the dungeon. Meet me tonight near the city gates with a horse to escape and oh.."

Because she can't take the hunger any longer. "Bring me food, now."

With a heavy heart, the boy went away.
