Chapter 3: Status Window
Ren and Von arrived at the house. Ren rushed inside and kept calling for his mom.
"Mom! Are you home? Where are you?" Ren shouted while searching for her.
They noticed that she was sleeping in her room. They tried to wake her up, however she showed no indication of rousing from slumber.
"Why is she not waking up, Von?" Ren said with a cracking voice and worried expression.
"Mana-starved." Von said coldly.
"What? What the hell are you saying?" Ren said.
"Ren, you know what I mean. This is...due to a lack of mana. Their body or mind lacks the energy or power to regain consciousness." Von said, his frustration evident in his voice.
"What do you mean? Are you saying that what you've been dreaming about has come true? Is that it?" Ren shouted angrily.
"I wish I could say no, but you saw it, Ren. The tower...The tower that reached above the clouds." Von expressed his despair.
Ren, in tears, held his mom's hand and pleaded, "No, it can't be! Mom, please..." He clung to the desperate hope that everything happening was merely a bad dream.
"Ren, can you tell me what happened earlier when I blacked out?" Von said
Ren, wiping his tears away, turned to Von and began to explain everything that had transpired while Von was unconscious.
"It's slightly different in my dreams. I was alone when I saw the sky shine brightly and there was no trumpet but there was a humming sound made by the angels who descend" Von said.
Von was also contemplating what had happened when he was insensible. In his dream, there was no moment where he lost consciousness and then brought into the darkness.
Ren still can't believe what is happening, feeling fazed and hopeless because of his mother. He asked, " So what now? If this is somehow related to your dreams, What should I do to help my mother?"
This is the first time Von saw Ren look so miserable. Ren, who is always smiling and cheerful, it feels weird to see him like this.
"We need to be awakened. If this is like my dream, soon the angels will go down and explain about the tower. There is nothing impossible within the tower." Von said assuring Ren that there is hope for his mother to be okay.
Three days had passed since the incident occurred. Many people had attempted to approach the tower, but none could get close. It had made headlines, causing chaos and a mix of fear and excitement among the people.
Von made a concerted effort to remember what happened in his dreams and ensured he wrote them down to avoid forgetting. He wasn't yet certain if everything in his dream would come true in reality, but he did it as a precaution to verify it later.
Suddenly, Von and Ren heard a voice, compelling them to say, "status window." The command was unexpected, and they exchanged puzzled glances before cautiously complying.
"Status window," they both said in unison.

They can't believe that they can actually see their stats. This is something they thought was only possible in a video game, but it's now a part of reality.
"This is... amazing. I know I shouldn't feel this way, but isn't this exciting?" Ren said while checking his stats.
"My stats... they're the same in my dream, but the skill 'dream interpretation' and my abilities... they're different." Von said while checking his stats.
"Whoa, there is also a description about us" Ren said, while feeling amazed.

Suddenly, Von and Ren's bodies lit up, and they began to float. In the blink of an eye, they found themselves in a completely unfamiliar place, their surroundings drastically different from where they had just been, leaving them utterly bewildered and disoriented.
One, by one, people began to materialize in the unknown place. Each arrival was met with a mix of confusion and fear. As they emerged, their expressions displayed a sense of unease.
The growing crowd of individuals exchanged nervous glances and whispered among themselves, their voice a murmur of concern. With each new arrival, the mystery deepened, and questions multiplied. The unknown place concealed its secrets, leaving those who had suddenly found themselves there to wonder about the nature of their new reality and what challenges or adventures lay ahead.
"They could have warned us. This is making me feel sick." Ren said, his stomach churning with nausea.
"You must survive if you want answers." whispered a voice in Von's mind, the words echoing with a sense of urgency and mystery.
