Dissolve

As my dad, Wayne, left, the house was consumed by silence again. I was perplexed upon looking at the box, as it was eerily similar to the one Rowan had in his closet.

I rushed upstairs to go into my room. As I was going to my room, my eye turned to look at Rowan's room.

"I didn't close the closet door."

'weird'

As I was closing the door, I saw the box in Rowan's closet and took it with me.

"I wonder what these boxes are."

'I guess they are not that similar'

The box I had was grey and had blue-white-like strips around it, but Rowan's box was grey but had light blue-grey strips. It looked just like a Rubik's cube, but it wasn't a Rubik's cube.

I looked carefully at the two boxes and decided to open my box, only to find out that I couldn't. There was no way for me to open the box—no locks, clamps, or anything. It was just a cube-shaped box.

'I wonder if I can open Rowan's box'

I tried the same thing, but I was confused, so I didn't put much thought into it. I made my way into Rowan's room to keep the cube in its place. I again felt a weird feeling lingering around my back.

'I feel weird whenever I come into his room. I better keep the box and go back.

I kept the cube back in its place and left the room. I closed the closet door and left the room. As I closed the room door, the ominous feeling wasn't there anymore.

"I didn't like that feeling. I need to ask Rowan what the 'box' is."

I slowly walked over to my room and put the cube on the shelf. Then I took my phone out and called Rowan, as I wanted to ask what the cube was.

'I'm going to ask Rowan about the box. He must know, as he already has one.

I started to dial my brother's number,waiting for Rowan to pick it up.

'Hello Nova, what do you'

"I just have a question. Do you know what the box does?"

'huh?, What do you mean, box?

"Uhh, ok, it's the grey box that you have in your room."

'You went into my room? Why, what did you do with the cube? . Did you feel like someone was looking over you?

"No, the thing is, the box looks really similar to the one I just got."

'Just got? What do you mean by I just got?'

"Dad came home, and he gave me one."

'Oh, you didn't answer my question'

"What question?"

'Did you feel like someone was looking at you?'

"I don't know; I couldn't tell, but I did feel something weird."

'Hey Nova, are you ok?'

'Nova!'

Rowan was driving over to his friends house to meet up with them. He felt his phone ringing in his pocket, so he got it out, only to see that his brother was calling him. So Rowan picked up his phone.

"Hello Nova, what do you do?"

'I just have a question: do you know what the box does?'

'Wha-'

'spurt'

"Hey Nova, are you ok?"

"Nova!"

"Shit shit shit shit."

'I should have known as soon as he told me about the cube, fuck.

Rowan got more worried as Nova didn't answer, so he turned his car around and rushed back home.

'I need to tell them I can't come with them'

Rowan took his phone out and called his friends.

RING RING

After a few seconds, his friends didn't pick up, so he just messaged them that he couldn't come.

'Why did dad give him a cube even though he has no idea about soul emanation? '

'How the hell did he find my cube anyway?'

Rowan got more worried, so he stepped up the gas to reach home faster.

After 15 minutes, he reached home only to see two Nexus guards standing outside the house.

Rowans brows got closer together as he rushed towards the nexus guards.

"What are you guys doing here?"

One of the nexus guards turned around with a look of shock in his face as he looked at Rowan.

"You can see us?"

"Yes, I can see you. Why are you two here?"

"We are here because there is an Asura-level Nexus Crier in the house."

"Can you guys handle it?"

"No, because we are only high knights."

"Shit. What about backup?"

"Sir Magnus is on his way, but it will take him a day to come through the Nexus Gate."

Suddenly A huge presence spread all over the area.

'What kind of aura is this? It's very pure.

'No, I can't be. Nova'

"Gentleman, I will go inside."

"Sir, we can't allow you to go in."

As Rowan heard these words, he released his aura, which shocked the two guards.

"Shut up; it's my brother who's inside. If you dare try, stop me; the next time you open your eyes, you shall be seeing the gods."

Rowan rushed inside the house, only to be dissolved by pure evil. The amount of soul emanation was definitely higher than that of a High Knight Nexus Crier. It was definitely a high-asura-level Nexus crier.

'What is such a high-level crier doing here? Is it here for the cubes?'

"Shit"

Rowan rushed into the house, trying to overcome the evil presence by emancipating his soul.

"Nova!"

Rowan screamed at the top of his lungs, awaiting a response.

'Fuck, am I too late?'

Rowan reached Nova's room to see blood all over the floor.

Blood gushing out of my mouth, I looked down to see a hole in my chest. I was slowly losing consciousness as I turned to get a hold of my phone to tell Rowan. I was too slow, but I saw a dark figure standing near the shelf where I had kept the cube.

"Who are you?"

I asked in a low voice. The figure turned and looked dead in my eyes, which could send chills down anyone's back.

I started to breathe more slowly, only to realise again that there was a hole in my chest. I lost all hope as I slowly closed my eyes. The figure walked over, crouched down, held my hair, and started talking to me.

"You have an immense amount of soul emanation, but how did you not see me the whole time you were in the room?"

As I had no energy to talk or hear what he was saying, I didn't move a muscle and stayed quiet.

"...."

"I could have attacked you from the start, but I didn't because of the amount of soul emanation you possessed."

"Alas, I got both the cubes. I shall take my leave now."

As I tried my best to stay conscious, I caught the attention of the cube in the hand of the figure, which started to spin really fast.

'What is going on? I'm dead, aren't I?

As I thought to myself, the cube disappeared from the figures.

'Looks like he didn't notice it's spinning, or I'm just hallucinating'

But due to blood loss, I lost my consciousness and slowly got dissolved by the darkness.

It looks like it's done.

The void was endless, but a small glimmer of light shone through the void, which got closer and closer to me.

'I guess I'm going to heaven'

As I thought to myself, the light enveloped itself around me. It was just an endless white void?

Looking over the void, I saw a small cube.

'Is it the cube that just disappeared from the figure's hand?'

As I held the cube, I felt a surge of pain course throughout my body. A pain I had never felt in my life made me groan, and my body started twitching.

"Ahkk"

The cube then dissolved into my hand. The pain stopped immediately, but an infinte amount of information surged through my brain, which paralysed my body.

'What is going on? '

I thought to myself that I could move again.

The cube reappeared in my hand, but it had lost its colour.

'Why has it lost its colour?'

As I thought to myself, I heard a loud, pleasant voice echo through the void.

"Nova"

I turned around to look where the voice came from, and I saw a person who looked the same age as me.

"Who are you? Where am I?"

I asked the person.

"I am your nexus blade's soul."

"Nexus blade?"

"Right, you don't know."

He suddenly appeared in front of me and touched my forehead, and suddenly the information I gained from the cube all became clear.

'I understand now'

I was not in a void, but I was in the realm of my nexus blade.

"All of this is still a little confusing."

The person in front of me spoke

"Appears so"

"My name is Kikei Jigoku."

'Kikei jigoku??'

I thought to myself

"My name is Nova."

I replied

"I know your name, Nova."

"Of course you would. Who am I kidding?"

I was confused about where he came from, but he answered my thoughts like he could read my mind.

"I'm from the cube. Or you could say, I'm a Nexus soul."

'The cube? Nexus soul?'

Kikei Jigoku suddenly spoke.

"Anyway, you're dying right now."

"I figured"

As I spoke, I felt a surge of power take over my body.

"What is the power I'm feeling right now?"

As I asked, Kikei Jigoku spoke.

"It's soul emanation."

'soul emanation, huh'

"Ah, this was what that figure was talking about."

"They are called Nexus Criers."

Kikei answered me quite quickly.

'What a weird name'

"Ok, how do I call you, Mr. Kikei Jigoku or Sir Kikei Jigoku?"

"Just call me Kikei."

"Right, ok"

'This is so weird'

Kikei spoke again with a serious tone in his voice.

"Nova, you need to go back and save yourself from the crier."

"How do I get out of here?"

As I spoke, I returned back to my room. My hair was held by the figure, or should I say a crier?

'How am I back here?'

I thought to myself, but behind the crier, I said, Kikei is standing.

"Pour your soul emanation into the cube."

He spoke, but I didn't know where the cube was.

"It's in his hand. Pour your soul emanation through his hand, feel it, and just do it."

'Just do it? Is he stupid?'

I tried to feel the soul emanation and felt it. I felt movement around my body, and I managed to surge my soul emanation.

'It's the pure aura again'

Rowan thought to himself as he slowly turned the corner of Nova's room.

"HOW DARE YOU TOUCH MY BROTHER?"

As he screamed at the nexus crier, it slowly turned around with a grin on its face.

"Who are you?"

The crier spoke as he was looking at Rowan.

Looking at Nova, Rowan pulled his nexus blade from his palm.

A dark blue light spread through the room.

"Who am I?"

Rowan spoke as he held a gladius. He wore armour that looked similar to that of a roman

soldier

"Heh"

The crier started to giggle, but he soon felt immense pressure fall on him.

'Hmmm, interesting'

The crier thought to himself.

"Oh, are you a Nexus guard?"

'He looks strong. I better avoid this.

The crier thought to himself.

'I can't fight him. I have to run.

"Your name, Crier?"

Rowan got into an attack stance as he asked for the crier's name.

  "Konan"

  The crier spoke.

'I better take the cubes and get out of here'

  As Konan looked behind for the cubes, he said the kid named Nova with both cubes in his hands.

  'Shit'

  As he thought to himself, he saw Rowan charging towards him.
