Chapter 6 Ambush

"As you all know, all of us have gathered here to level up and pass through the Fores of Solittude back to our homes, or as I like to call it FOS" Andrew spoke as he addressed everyone

Allen and the other, total of ten people in total calmly listened, all being from the same class, there were many others that were from the other side of the city, but all were either seniors or someone they didn't know

Allen felt that it was good that Andrew didn't form a bigger group, considering the bigger a group is, the more attracted the monster will be to them

"So let's make sure that we level up and reach our homes, those that are not combat oriented will be in the middle, guarding them will be those that have gained a level or two and are long-range players"

Everyone nodded at Andrew's suggestion, Alen cast a glance around and noticed most were happy, except for maybe Hank who was bummed out

"And those that have talent that can help them tank will be on the front followed by those that have close combat attack talent, although none of us have skills yet, I believe after defeat a group or two of goblins, we will be able to level up and get a job class"

"Awesome Andrew! We knew we could count on you, let's all level up and become stronger for our world"

Everyone yelled in excitement, no longer students that were afraid of monsters, but Allen couldnt help but feel a sense of unease, these people should take things like these seriously

They only had one life, this wasn't a game, a single mistake might cost them their life, clenching his fist, he vowed to cherish his life above anything else

Andrew arranged everyone, Allen was stationed at the back along with two others whom he knew as acquaintance but never talked with

The three were in charge of the rear, while Hank, Stuart and Andrew were Vanguard, One person travelled on each side as the mom-combatants or low-level ones stood in the middle

Allen knew that as long as things went smoothly, these Non- combatants would also be able to fight, making it easier for others to fight as well

But he also knew that what really mattered was whether you had the guts or not, he had seen Andrew in battle personally, but the others were still unknown to him

After walking for a while, Allen suddenly picked up rustling nearby, he immediately pulled out his sword, and the sound of the sword being drawer alerted everyone, just when everyone thought they were being attacked

There was no attack, no ambush

"Pfft! Damn! This guy nearly scared me" one of the people laughed, causing others to chuckle as well

Alex and Nina sighed in relief,

Allen didn't let down his guard, among everyone present, his stats were the highest, and his body had heightened senses and could hear and see much clearer

"Guys! I think we are being ambushed, maybe it's an archer Goblin" he said, in hope the his words would put some sense in Hank

"Dont try and act tough for no reason, it's just a fuckin Gonli-Uhhhahhhhh!"

Hank who was about to slap some sense into Allen suddenly found himself falling to his knees, although he wanted to take credit for Hanks current state

It wasn't he, Stuart who was more aware quickly shouted

"It's an arrow, it's really an

Ambush " he yelled as he put

His guard up, The Long-range combatants pulled Hank who was wailing like a pig in the inner circle

"Cover his fucking mouth or we might die here" Allen yelled and soon the shouting stopped

"There! Andrew shoot!"

Andrew quickly shot a blast of air in the direction Allen pointed

"Got him!"

"There's more, I can't locate them, never mind!" just as Allen spoke

A group of Goblins jumped out of the trees from all around them and started attacking

One of the goblins holding a rusty sword swung at Allen who easily swung his own sword, knocking back the stunned goblin and taking its life with a stomp

Allen swiped away the notifications before he shot himself towards an Archer Goblin, kicking it so hard it flew into a tree and died

By the time took care of two goblins, the others had also taken care of their own monsters

Everyone turned around to make sure their companions were safe then their eyes fell on Hank who had fallen unconscious

"John, use your talent heal his wounds, we can't stop moving" Andrew ordered

Before long everyone started moving, the goblin's blood would no doubt attract others

Everyone silently moved through the forest. Allen who was previously at the back was moved to the front, everyone had wordlessly acknowledged his power and perception

Although Andrew was strong, his talent didn't allow him much to do without a job class while Allen was able to deal with two goblins easily. Even stop any ambush they came across

Stuart who had a danger sense or whatever his secret talent was, could only feel ashamed in front of Allen

Hank was finally awake but obediently guarded the back after a glare from Andrew and the others

As for choosing a job Class, Allen wasn't in a hurry, although he wanted to level up fast as possible, his exp was neatly stuffed away for now

He decided to first reach the so-called Novice Village, where the missions would be available to him, then he would leave for Granite City A where his supposed parents were

The Novice Village was located in the outer circle of Forest of Solitude, And Allen was currently travelling on the outer circle as well

The newbieguide.pdf had a detailed note on the outer circle and even the inner circle which was published by the Beta player, but the core was unknown to even the Beta testers

It couldn't be helped as they hadn't played the game for a long while before the tragedy happened

"Yes! The novice village is really close by, we just need to pass that stream and we will enter the Novice village" Stuart spoke in excitement

Everyone had gained something from this trip, nearly all of them had crossed level 5 by now and the idiotic goblins weren't that hard to kill with their intellect

Fortunately, they hadn't come Across any goblin above level 10 or else they might have suffered, some did get poisoned by Spiders but were able to survive because of John who was a guy with a heal-type talent

Allen had also been bitten once to his surprise, he had also grown closer to Andrew and Stuart

Both were friendly people and Allen was surprisingly approachable much to the surprise of the two

"Thats good! I am tired of dealing with those goblins"

"Yeah! I wanna rest for a while, we still have to get to the village, reach level 10 and then get some missions"

"Wouldnt it is just better to pass through, I think it's better if go back home"

"Idiot! We will have to come back sooner or later to get a job class. who knows how long it will take for the Player Association of our country to carve a path through the forest"

"Alright everyone, let's rest by the stream for half an hour, it's been a tiring journey" Andrew spoke

Even Allen the strongest among them nodded as he looked at his worn-out sword. His clothes were cut in various places

'The monsters are getting stronger! Just like the beta testers said' he thought to himself

Everyone rested by the stream, some took a fast bath and washed their faces, fighting for half a day, especially for students who never had to fight once in their life was very tiring

If it weren't for the level-ups in between that gave them the strength to carry on, they would have fallen dead along the way

The biggest reason they got to make it through was probably because of Allen, everyone had come except that, and they wondered what his Talen was, not knowing the bastard was already at the current level of Cap
