Shaman?

Lady Isis covered her son in a layer of her spiritual power. She then wrapped him in a protective layer of True Energy just to be safe. She flew to an altitude above the two young nobles clashing in the skies. She wasn't even twenty-five meters away from the clash, but Jody didn't feel anything like the shock waves of battle he expected. The most he felt was a slight wind blowing on his face.

"This. IS. AWESOME!!" screamed Jody with his fists pumped in the air.

Isis just shook her head and smiled.

Below, Jody watched as the two nobles had an even clash, then landed several meters away from each other in the air. However, instead of hovering like his mother was currently doing, it was as if they were standing. Jody noticed that there were magic circles made of light and strange symbols under their feet. These magic circles served as some disc-like vehicle of light.

"Give up, Edward, you could never reach my level," said the handsome brown-skinned noble in elegant blue clothes.

Edward's muscles were tense, his pearl skin glowing in the darkness of the night. His eyes glowed with an intensity that could rival a thousand stars, and he unleashed a powerful onslaught of punches as if a volcano had erupted from inside him. The black fire raged as his opponent casually parried his desperate strikes.

Edward's body trembled like an angry god, his pearl skin glowing with rage. He opened his mouth, and a thunderous roar exploded from his chest. His eyes burned with black fire as he hurled a dark fist forward, filled with all his power. The blazing darkness shot towards its target with lightning speed, ready to consume the brown-skinned noble in its unyielding fury!

"I'm done playing with you!" Scowled the handsome noble. He lifted his arm, condensing his mana into twelve giant wind swords.

The twelve wind swords screeched as they began to swirl and spin faster, meeting the brutal force of the flaming fist of darkness. The twelve wind swords whirled fiercely, creating a relentless storm of razor-sharp gales that smashed into the fist of inky darkness right before it could collide with its target.

The handsome noble closed his eyes and shouted a potent incantation that caused threefold arcane circles to bloom near his hands. An enraged hurricane exploded in a crescendo of sound and light, slicing through the dark tendrils while an unearthly force pushed back against the sinister energy.

The battle between light and dark had just exploded!

Jody watched in awe as the noble's spoken words turned directly into tiny red runic glyphs that gathered into the arcane circles at his hands before condensing into a massive orb of flame. The handsome noble shifted his body and assumed what Jody could only describe as an energy blast posture.

"Endless Inferno!" shouted the brown-skinned noble in blue clothes, blasting a pillar of fire from the orb with one palm and smashing a small tornado into the orb with his left.

The pillar of flame was three meters thick, blasting into the back of the twelve hurricane swords, instantly causing an explosion of fire that looked like a heavenly drill of divine fire. The grand fire drill decimated the fist imprints and crashed into the young noble Edward.

Edward was launched 200 meters away by the explosion of power! At this instant, Lady Isis erected an additional barrier made of serenity force, just in case her baby felt hot.

One could only say she was over-protective!

Meanwhile, Jody couldn't mind his mother. He was stunned and shaking. It would take longer to describe, but this happened in seconds. Jody had never witnessed anything like it. What the hell were these people made of? Fairy dust?

After the flames and smog dispersed, Jody could see that while Edward was bleeding in some places and the arm he punched with was hanging limp, he was otherwise still standing on a platform in the air. Hieroglyphs danced in the light disc, making it look mysterious and mystic. Edward stood proud after receiving a killing blow.

Albeit a little haggardly.

Still, Jody was speechless. Edward didn't die? Who could survive something like that? What a freak!

Even though Jody had the legacy of a Titan, there was a different feeling when he saw a fight in person. It was like watching a boxing match on pay-per-view versus having front-row tickets to the battle. Just watching a recording wasn't really the same experience.

"To think, you had been holding back this whole time… Kold Rondo. The negus' gift in force manipulation shines true. You are worthy of becoming the lord's medjay candidate. It is my defeat," Edward was solemn as he directly admitted defeat.

How could he defeat someone chosen to be a medjay by a future pharaoh like their leader? His ascension was only a matter of time. The resources he could afford for his retainers weren't something the common could challenge. Even as a vassal of House Trillwolf, Edward's opportunities just didn't compare.

"Haha, it was a good fight," laughed the handsome negus noble, Kold Rondo, "Hurry and breakthrough to the advanced silver rank, then we can truly compete."

Edward just nodded while descending from the sky.

"Let's go, baby," Lady Isis' eyes flashed with a discerning glint as she watched Kold Rondo leave. Her silhouette flickered, and she flew rapidly back towards Synergy, landing elegantly on Synergy's broad back in but a few seconds.

Jody was still speechless as he ruminated over the wonders he had witnessed. When would he be so strong? Flying and casting magic spells or standing on magic circles in the air! These people could fly and perform force arts; wow! How could he still be content to patiently wait for years to go by?

Being young was hard, and Jody wanted to get older.

"Where are we going now, mother?" Jody asked as he realized they still weren't headed toward the black statues in the estate's center.

As Isis' gaze fell upon Josiah, her son, she let out a light sigh. Something had awoken inside him that was both powerful and terrifying. She knew she needed to get answers quickly before they visited his father, and the only person who could possibly help was a shaman of her faction residing in a temple just ahead. But even as she thought this, a wave of fear swept through her, uncertain of what else she might discover.

"New powers have awakened within you, Josiah," Isis spoke calmly and measuredly, gently stroking her son's head. "Very terrifying powers. There are questions. I have a few of my own. We travel to see my friend. He should be able to help me."

Isis said the last sentence in a near whisper as if she feared speaking too loud would harm the outcome.

Jody's eyes widened with surprise and curiosity. New powers? Terrifying powers? Was she referring to the emerald flames he caused that ravaged the estate? His mind raced with questions, but he dared not interrupt his mother. He could see that she was deep in thought and knew she needed time to collect her thoughts.

They approached the temple within moments. Jody couldn't help but notice the change in the landscape. The air was colder, and the trees were taller and more twisted. The ground was rocky and uneven, and the sky was darker than before. It was as if they had entered a different world altogether.

"Ma, where we at?" Jody asked as he looked around in wonder.

His mother immediately rapped him on the head. Jody quickly corrected his speech.

"Mother, where are we?"

"We are in the shadow realm of the Darkwolf Shaman," Isis replied, her voice barely above a whisper.

"The realm of the shamans?" Jody repeated, his eyes widening with shock.

His father had spoken about the shaman before with heavy disdain.

"Yes, the realm of the shamans," said Isis, considering this a decent place to start her boy's understanding of the subject.

"The shamans are powerful beings who can manipulate the forces of nature," she explained further, speaking more confidently. "They can control the elements, summon spirits, and even communicate with the dead. They are the keepers of ancient knowledge and hold the key to unlocking the universe's secrets."

As they approached the temple, Jody couldn't help but feel a sense of awe. The building was unlike anything he had ever seen, with intricate carvings and elaborate decorations covering every inch of its surface. It was a massive structure made of stone, with intricately carved arches and pillars that seemed to reach up to the sky. The air around it was thick with the scent of incense, and he could hear the faint chanting of prayers coming from within.

It was more like a palace than a temple, and Jody wondered what kind of person could be powerful enough to call it home.

Isis dismounted from Synergy's back and strode confidently towards the temple entrance. The guards at the gate bowed respectfully as she passed by, and Jody followed closely behind her, feeling a sense of reverence wash over him.

Inside the temple, they were greeted by a hooded figure. The hooded figure led them down a narrow hallway to a door at the end, which opened into an even narrower chamber. A single candle flickered in the center of the room, illuminating a thin wisp of smoke that hovered around an elderly man sitting on a cushion. His weathered face was framed by a long gray beard that reached his chest, and his bright blue eyes held Jody in a deep gaze that seemed to know every thought he ever had.

"Ah, Lady Isis, it is good to see you," the shaman said, his voice deep and resonant. "And who is this young man you have brought with you?"

"This is my son, Josiah," Isis replied, placing a hand on Jody's shoulder. "There are some questions that we need answers to, and I believe you might be able to help us."

The shaman nodded knowingly and gestured for them to take a seat.

Jody felt a rush of anticipation as he sat down beside his mother. He had never met a shaman before, and he couldn't help but wonder what kind of magic he was capable of.

"Young Josiah," the shaman said, his voice echoing through the room. "You possess power that is beyond your understanding. You have tapped into the primal forces of the universe, and they have responded to your call."

Jody felt a shiver run down his spine as the shaman spoke. Who was this guy? That was pretty close to what the Twilight had said.

"What kind of powers?" Jody asked, unable to contain his curiosity any longer.

"The power of one of the hidden skies," the shaman replied. "You can control elements and harness the power of chaos. The universe's building blocks exist in chaos, and they are at your disposal."

Jody watched, transfixed, as the shaman began to chant an ancient incantation that grew louder and more intense with each passing second. The air around them seemed to crackle with energy as the room lit up in a brilliant white light. Jody felt a powerful surge of energy course through him, unlocking something that had been dormant inside him. He could feel a most magical presence surrounding him, filling him with newfound strength and confidence.
