15. A Wild Encounter

We turned on the road and went in the direction opposite from road to town. The road started to become narrower as we went forward. It was only one person wide and Cheeran walked in front with his torch. I too took out my small torch, and Balu had a bigger torch lighting up the rear of the group.

Balu said, “We do not have to wait anywhere as the boys are there in front of us. Otherwise I would find it a little difficult to find the route to the ooru in this dark. So thankful that they stayed back to take us”.

Komban said, “No, we are happy to take you with us. Also we got a chance to see the play, otherwise how do we see such things. So we should be thanking you for the reception and generosity you showed to us”.

We walked for about thirty minutes in the dark, before the moon came out and lit the sky. Moonlight filtered through the trees and gave us enough light to walk freely. I took out my camera and shot the sky and the forest night.
