Eyes of grace

The girl was first to break the gaze between them both. Moving her reddish brown eyes to look at lady Gertrude.

"Ms. Silvester. What are you doing in town today?." Gertrude's voice shook as she spoke. It was clear she wasn't expecting this noble and elegant young miss in town or anywhere near today. Lady Gertrude was a woman of high status but was still far under the family of this young and kind miss. The Silvester family didn't just have a name for being related to the noble duke of Gardenhill but also because they were in the highest of highest societies. And standing in front of them all was the family's young daughter.

Ms Vivian Silvester.

"Well i was passing by only to notice the commotion that so much caught my attention." Vivian spoke soft yet brightly. She smiled a bit staring at the townfolks."Thief you said? Is she the thief?." She asked Gertrude.

"Y..yes ms Silvester." Gertrude replied.

"What could she have possibly stolen?." Vivian tilted her head slightly at the woman she well knew.

On hearing the question she answered,"W..well my lady. This girl right here stole my ring. I wouldn't have caused a commotion but due to the fact that this ring was gifted to me i couldn't help it."

"Do you have any evidence that she stole your ring?." Vivian asked. Her tone was polite but as serious as it could be.

"Pardon?." Gertrude then bowed slightly and said. "My lady, with all due respect the town witnessed it with their very own eyes. This lowly life stole my ring and made attempt to run."

"Run?!." Vivian raised a brow. "Tch. I can say that's serious." The girl paused she then raised a finger saying out her words in a clear and polite tone. "Except with my very eyes i saw you slip the ring into her pocket."

Gertrude immediately raised her head at the young ms Silvester. Her eyes widened and she immediately spat out, "My lady how could i?! That is so absurd of you to think of even say aloud!."

The crowd that gathered already began murmuring thier opinions to each other in suprise that a woman of such high class was stooping so low as to prove herself by framing an, innocent commoner.

"And to think its even more absurd to frame someone with such a lie. Stealing is unacceptable in my uncle's noble town and so is the crime you have committed. I believe you all have seen for your self that if caught framing the innocent let alone the low lives you could be punished as long as i live." Vivian paused and stared with slight disgust at Gertrude. "I shall spare you and have my uncle say nothing. If this repeats itself then -. I shall not say. For the sake of your reputation try to keep a private life milady. That is my advice for you." Vivian finished of turning to walk away.

Gertrude clenched her fist as her head remained low. How dare she? She was humiliated and because of that good for nothing low life?! How absurd! She thought to herself. "Samuel!!. Get the Carriage! We're leaving!!." Her voice thundered as she stormed out of the place. Leaving the townfolks with word to spread as they slowly disappeared. No one know seemed to notice that Vivian was left alone with the girl in the white cloak.

Sire made attempt to stand when a hand wearing a black leather glove stretched towards her. She looked up to find the pretty lady she know knew as Vivian Silvester.

The girls eyes softened and Sire was compelled to take her hand.

"Ngh..." Her stiffened and soft groan was heard by Vivian and the girl's expression quickly switched to changed to worry.

"Are you alright?." She asked the girl.

"Mmm." Sire smiled although it wasn't visible to Vivian since her head hung low.

"Are you from around here?." Vivian asked trying her best to make out who it was. Sire only declined with a head shake.

"Oh. Well should i escort you home?." She asked and the girl immediately raised her head in alert. Unintentinally allowing Vivian's eyes to meet with hers.Vivuan immediately stiffened at what she found unexplainable. Something that struck her. It was a strange feeling that refused to shake off. Not until the girl finally spoke.

"Actually,i was here with someone. I'll get going now if you don't mind. Thank you." With a slight head bow,Sire turned to leave only for her to feel a sharp pain by her ankle.

"Ahh." A soft and almost unnoticeable scream escaped her lips. She felt herself loosing balance only for her to feel a firm and masculine hand her pull her closer to him. He stopped her from feeling the pain she had already braised herself to feel. Her eyes slowly moved from his chest to see only is strong jaw. The rest of his face was covered with the hood of that silver cloak she seemed to now recognise.

"N..Nathan?." Her voice was shallow and her words almost went unnoticed. He didn't answer her.

Not wasting anymore time she felt his grip on her wrist. He was dragging her despite her injured ankle..

Vivian's hand was left hanging in mid air. She felt herself being taking back a little. If she heard correctly then that girl had said 'Nathan'.She was probably referring to the man wasn't she?. Her heart suddenly raced skipping more than just one beat at a time.

"My lady, your chariot is ready. Shall we leave now?." Sherman, Vivian's coach man came behind her to ask since now she stood all alone. Being brought back to reality with his words she turned to him. Then noticing the chariot he had parked behind her.

"Huh?." Was her reply to him.Sherman only knitted his brows and asked,

"Are you crying my lady?."

It was then Vivian noticed. She had been crying?!She wiped her eyes with a faint smile. It was probably the thought of seeing him again. That cousin of hers.

"Oh no Sherman. Just something in my eye that's all." She gave him a reassuring smile. Noticing that the man didn't buy it she said, "Shall we?." Her smile not dying. This also forced the man to smile knowing fully well that his young ms wasn't alright.

"Right this way." He led her to the chariot opening its door for her. Vivian stepped into the chariot and settled down. Opening her window curtain, she stared out the window as they beagan riding. She felt the cool air on her skin. Pushing aside the locks of her brown hair.
