Meaning

Both Kakashi and Naruto stood on each side from Kaito´s point of view. They still were staring mostly and Kakashi didn't bother moving.

Even if he acknowledged that he would need more concentration he was still not going to spar with these kids seriously. One may call it cocky but his experience was enough to support that confidence.

Near them, Kaito placed one of his legs over the other and then leaned his head against his arm that was placed on the said former leg.

Then his pupils traveled off to the side where he saw Sasuke and Sakura still hiding in their brushes. It was rather easy for him detecting their chakra signatures.

´Now what are you two going to do?´

Just when those thoughts crossed his mind Naruto charged at Kakashi again. He looked even more confident in his move as well.

But sadly now Kakashi was not going to go easy. He blocked Naruto´s rampage easily and when an opening showed itself he crouched slightly and dived past Naruto to be behind him.

"And you still got caught off-guard from behind.", said Kakashi then and placed both his hands together.

Kaito his eye twitched seeing that outcome. Naruto was still in motion from an attack that put him airborne. ´Wait, is he going to do that anyway?´

"Damn!" Naruto cursed and tried to throw his kunai to his backside.

"Too late. Konoha Secret Ultimate Taijutsu Technique!" Kakashi went forward to pierce Naruto´s ass.

But before that happened a few Shuriken flew past Kakashi who already had canceled his action and jumped back to avoid them.

"Hey, hey. You are not supposed to interfere. You definitely won't get any food later." Kakashi looked and pointed at Kaito who was the culprit.

"I don't care. I would rather you don't do such embarrassing moves...Sensei...", answered Kaito with a somewhat annoyed voice. There was even a clear angry tick at his forehead and his smile was rather ominous.

"Hmm, the serious type, are we? Then by your rules, your brother here would be dead. So should he be the one to have no food?"

"Huh!? I still can fight! I´ll show ya!" Naruto rebuked his lost fight and executed his shadow clones. There were now 10 of himself and all charged right at Kakashi.

Kakashi only sighed and went up in smoke. Naruto was confused because only his own clones were present.

But suddenly he started beating himself up and that got a reaction out of the others.

"You are Kakashi-Sensei, right? You are only disguised!"

Each of the clones started to accused themselves and roughed each other up in a huge brawl. Shortly after getting annoyed, Naruto realized that he could release the Jutsu.

But when he did that he only looked flabbergasted because he was the only one left standing. And with all the damage accumulated through his clones, he basically let himself beat up by 10 people, gaining unnecessary exhaustion.

"Where are you!!?" Naruto started shouting and looking around and when he came close to a tree he saw one of the bells lying on the ground.

"Ha, he lost one! My luck is great, hehe!!" But coming closer to try and pick it up, he activated a trap that was placed there and was pulled upside-down. Now he was hanging from the mentioned tree by a rope.

"Baka~. Use your Jutsus carefully depending on the situation.", explained Kakashi, who was above him on the branch in the tree where the other side of the rope was tied up.

Then he jumped down and picked his lure up. "You are out. Let's see how the others are doing." With those last words, Kakashi started walking away to the direction of Sakura and Sasuke.

Naruto didn't give up yet and still threw weapons at Kakashi. Whatever that may have served as, it was intercepted easily. But this time it was Kaito who did it.

"Huh?" Naruto was obviously surprised now.

"It´s enough, brother. Let's be fair here and just keep quiet for now.", said Kaito threw the shuriken back to cut the rope.

Falling down Naruto got up rather quickly and looked at Kaito. Then after scratching his head a little, he nodded. "Alright...Damn it..."

Kakashi looked at this scene and while no one could tell, he had a smile underneath his mask. Then after he continued to walk away and deal with the other two it didn't take that much longer and all three were beaten and had to admit defeat.

Sakura was easily disabled with Genjutsu and even though Sasuke was also good in Taijutsu and even had Ninjutsu, it was still not enough.

Standing in front of the three people that looked back at Kakashi he sighed and started to evaluate them.

"Aright, you three don't need to worry about the bells.", said Kakashi while guessing their thoughts about the result.

"Does that mean!?" Naruto tried to get Kakashi to say the words but was immediately shut down after he got his hopes back up.

"Yeah, you should all quit being shinobi."

"What!!? Why! Just because we couldn't get our hands on those bells from a clearly strong opponent like you?" Naruto was furious now but couldn't do much because he was the one that was tied up as punishment.

"It is because you are just punks pretending to be shinobi."

Those last words from Kakashi triggered even the rather calm Sasuke and he tried to go melee. But just in a swift motion he placed him underneath him and held his right arm behind his back.

"See what I mean? Do you guys actually underestimate shinobi a little bit too much?" Kakashi glared at them now.

"Why do you think you are a team? Why do you think you are undergoing this training?"

"Huh? What do you want to tell us?", asked Sakura now and actually seemed to start thinking about his words.

"...You basically don't get the answer, do you? Well, let us ask our third party then. Kaito may be currently in this team but there is a reason for him not have been included in the test. Now, if my thoughts are correct...Can you explain to them what I try to say?"

All four of them looked at Kaito now who was staying quiet the whole time.

"Brother...You knew?" Naruto asked.

"Of course I knew. The answer is rather simple. You three lacked teamwork." Kaito started to explain to them their shortcomings. "I already told you before, you need to function as a team. But you obviously didn't listen when I said that yesterday."

"Naruto, you went against Kakashi-sensei with no real clue of his capabilities even after seeing his speed first hand before the test. Then your usage of Jutsu was rather counterproductive. You got yourself exhausted and injured."

"Sakura, you always worried about Sasuke who was rather unharmed at the start. All the while Naruto was the one in need of your help. Focusing too much on something and neglecting the other is not good. The team needs to trust each other to depend to get backed up when engaging enemies. Just staying there and staring while a team member is wounded is unacceptable."

"Same goes to you, Sasuke. But what is more, is that you are probably the one that hates cooperation the most. You think you can handle most things yourself. But you need to see that with the help you are more than just an individual."

"And that brings us to your task. If you had put good teamwork together then you would definitely get the bells. Even if one had to sacrifice his own happiness and swallow the bitter pill. The team comes first."

After his long explanation, Kaito looked back at Kakashi. " I guess that is about it."

"Very good." Kakashi nodded. "Kaito did mention the most important things. If a team is endangered by individuals than it can't exist."

"For example..." Kakashi took a Kunai and placed it at Sasuke´s throat. "Sakura, kill Naruto."

With that Sakura actually flinched and hesitated to say the right thing: That she would not do it.

"You see? If you are confronted with hard choices or can't rely on your team. Then you only end up dead."

Kakashi walked over to a stone monument to the side. "Look at this. Every name that is written here belongs to a shinobi that was accepted as a hero of the village."

"Really!? Then I will do my best and also add my name to that list." Naruto grinned after his proud proclamation.

"Naruto, that...." Kaito frowned slightly and wanted to tell him but Kakashi continued his words.

"These are all names of people that died on duty."

Naruto looked shocked at that moment and his gaze went downward. He really nearly forgot that one accident. His eyes traveled to his brother Kaito who still looked at Kakashi.

"This is a memorial. My best friend´s name is also carved here. As well as the name of the one he loved..."

Then Kakashi looked back at them. When he saw them all silent and thinking about it he nodded in his mind.

"I will give you one last chance. Don't waste it. Eat up and we will continue."

Noticing that Kakashi started to walk away Naruto became worried. "Hey, and what about me?"

"Didn't I say there is going to be one that gets punished? You will have to accept that it is you. Eat the sour pill with pride." Kakashi made a thumbs up.

"EEEHHHH! THAT'S NOT FAIR!!" Naruto now cried out loud because he was denied food and was already feeling his grumbling stomach.
