Chapter 16: YUHI SHINKU'S WAY OF SURVIVAL

Yuhi Shinku's words left Yuuki Yuichi speechless. Yuhi Kurenai blinked at the two of them with wide eyes, not fully understanding the gravity of the conversation, but she could tell that Yuichi was special.

Yuhi Kurenai's hand trembled slightly as she held Yuichi's. "Yuichi…"

Noticing her movement, Yuuki Yuichi turned to her. "Don't worry, Kurenai."

"Maybe this is something you need to bear if you want to become a great ninja," he said, trying to comfort her.

The sunset cast a red hue, and Yuhi shinku's words seemed to suggest that Yuichi had a heavy burden to bear.

Yuhi Shinku wanted to scold him but suppressed his frustration. "Okay, I've told you everything you need to know."

"Next," he continued, but Yuuki Yuichi interrupted.

"Uncle Shinku, do I have Uzumaki bloodline?"

Yuhi Shinku's heart skipped a beat. Although he didn't know why Yuichi was asking, he knew Yuichi's curiosity wasn't simple.

As expected, Yuuki Yuichi's question hit the mark.

"I can feel the power of the Uzumaki clan's bloodline, but I've heard Uchiha has the Sharingan. Why don't I have it?" Yuichi asked.

Yuhi Shinku sighed with relief but then realized, "It's the Sharingan, not just a Red eye!"

"The Sharingan will awaken in the future. As long as you don't act recklessly and remain honest, it will awaken."

"Really?" Yuichi asked skeptically.

"Am I, a jounin of Konoha, lying to a ninja student?" Yuhi Shinku pointed to himself and then at Yuichi Yuuki. "However, I hope you never awaken it."

As a jounin and a former companion of Uchiha, Yuhi Shinku understood that the Sharingan often required significant personal loss to awaken. He sincerely hoped Yuichi would never have to endure such pain.

Despite some higher-ups' belief that the Uchiha were inherently evil, Yuhi Shinku saw the Uchiha as reliable, especially as teammates. They were powerful and loyal, though their methods could be extreme at times.

Yuhi Shinku reminisced about his experiences with the Uchiha. He had seen firsthand the trauma involved in awakening the Sharingan, and he hoped Yuichi wouldn't have to face such hardships.

Yuuki Yuichi then asked, "Do the Uchiha clan not care about this?"

Yuhi Shinku smiled at Yuichi's question. "What do they care about you for? The Uchiha clan allows intermarriage, so people like you exist."

"It's just that you are special with the Uzumaki bloodline. As long as you don't seek them out, they won't bother with you."

Yuhi Shinku looked at Yuichi Yuuki and smiled, satisfied with him. Though he was initially wary about Yuichi's intentions with his daughter, he was relieved to leave Yuhi Kurenai in Yuichi's care.

Yuichi Yuuki recalled some information from his memories about the Uchiha clan and how they sometimes integrated with other clans.

Yuhi Shinku then asked, "Do you have any more questions?"

"No, I'm good," Yuichi Yuuki shook his head. He had received some incredible information today.

He realized that he didn't need to worry about explaining an Uchiha template in the future. The information he received today clarified much of what he needed to know.

Yuhi Shinku, seeing Yuichi's reaction, coughed slightly and said, "Since you both started school today, you can't be so idle in the future."

He looked at the two of them with a serious expression.

Yuhi Kurenai looked nervous at her father's stern demeanor, as she had rarely seen him like this.

Yuichi Yuuki was more accustomed to Yuhi Shinku's serious expressions and didn't mind.

Yuhi Shinku, seeing Yuichi's nonchalant reaction but noticing his daughter's nervousness, relaxed and stopped pretending to be stern.

"The first-year courses at Ninja School involve chakra control and basic reading. Since you've already learned these, starting tomorrow, you'll need to rush back after school. I'll personally teach you illusion techniques."

"I am the master of illusions in Konoha!" Yuhi Shinku said proudly.

Yuichi Yuuki hesitated before whispering, "Can I opt out of that?"

"Huh?!" Yuhi Shinku's eyes narrowed. "What did you say?"

Yuichi quickly backtracked, "I meant that having a powerful ninja like Uncle Shinku teach us is a great honor. Many people would consider it a blessing."

"That's right!" Yuhi Shinku agreed, pleased with Yuichi's response.
