Chapter 66 - Becoming Jonin Commander

Inside the Hokage Office, a few hours after the Uchiha Massacre or what it referred to as since more than half of the clan was wiped out. Most of whom had awakened their Sharingan or children who had a high chance were killed. While the few who were married into the clan or deemed low chance of awakening lived.

Glaring at Hiruzen who glared back with his two remaining Elders. Mira did in fact discover Danzo at the scene and a few of his Root agents trying to pick out Uchiha Clans member Sharingan. Which she made to dispose of them all for trying to steal the clan Sharingan.

"Tell us why we shouldn't have you arrested." Homura Mitokado said in a commanding tone.

Kagami turned his head and glanced at the old man before looking back at Hiruzen who let out a sigh. He just gave his old friend and advisor a glance for him to remain silent. Otherwise this delicate matter would end badly as Kagami's warning rang in Hiruzen's head.

"You two, please remain silent. There has been enough death tonight." Hiruzen said to his two remaining advisors when he noticed Koharu Utatane opening her mouth.

"They killed a village advisor and Anbu members." Koharu changed her tune.

"Very well, I shall take some time to visit your families and raid the libraries. You can't kill or touch me otherwise I will have you arrested." Mira retorted with a snort.

"You can't do that." Both Homura and Koharu nearly shouted.

"Funny how that rule comes and goes." Mira snorted before ignoring them.

"Yes, Danzo made his choice and paid the price. Now we need to determine what to do and who will take over what positions." Hiruzen said putting this topic to rest for the time being.

"We need someone to fill Danzo's spot." Koharu brought up the more important topic in her opinion.

"I will assign Shikaku to the position." Hiruzen spoke and refused to listen to their objections. "In his place will be Kagami."

Both Homura and Koharu seemed put off at his words but one look and they straightened up. However, they realized their actions will become greatly affected, as they wouldn't be able to pull wisdom of age or old friends cards. So in a moment's thought, Homura spoke up.

"Who will take over Root?"

"Mira will take them over for the time being. She will then begin cleaning up the mess Danzo left behind." Hiruzen spoke, which Kagami nodded too.

While Kagami or Mira didn't really want either of their positions, they decided to accept them. Since it was a promotion of sorts, Hiruzen was making a powerplay of sorts. He brought in new blood to the top ranks so to speak.

For the next few hours, the office changed and began planning out what to do about the Uchiha Clan. In the end, the police force that the Uchiha clan ran was pulled and formed among multiple clans. All in an attempt to keep someone taking advantage of the situation again since police don't tend to be popular among everyone.

Among the topics, it has been determined that Itachi Uchiha will be branded as a missing-nin for his part. However, he is a loose shinobi spy for the village as an apology for Danzo's part in forcing the teen to do this. However, an outsider calling himself Madara Uchiha was involved in this matter and invited Itachi to a group of missing-nin. Hence, the matter of the outside was quietly removed making Itachi the sole conspiriter of the massacre.

Time passed since that incident as the village upper ranks went through a reshuffle. Which was mainly silent for the most part as most civilians didn't really care about the others besides the Hokage. On the other hand, the shinobi found themselves with mixed emotions when learning both Kagami and Mira positions.

None of the shinobi had an issue with the two, but felt it was strange for a pair of sixteen years old holding such positions. Most of the shinobi or higher rank ones were older than them.

Now currently in his laboratory, Kagami was looking at the latest batch of clones with a smile. While the clones were a failure, however this should be the last failure as the next clone batch will be perfected. Which will allow him and Mira to achieve their Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan.

'Susanoo Asura Avatar mode isn't far away now.' Kagami thought. 'Add all those and sage mode on top, well it will look amazing.'

"Father, why are you happy? Aren't the clones a failure." Asura asked.

"Just the idea I have once the next batch is done. Then we should go out to play with Mira and have a grand sparring session. It will be interesting, won't it as we bring out the big guns in this spar?"

"So I will finally get a turn to fight?" Asura asked with hope, lacing his words.

"I don't see why not." Kagami shrugged, feeling a bit bad.

Since his creation, Kagami really didn't have a real need to bring him out. Most of the dangers he had he could handle by himself. Not to mention with the Serum, his lack of chakra was mostly taken care of and now with sage mode. Well, it can be said very few could force him to allow Asusa to flex his muscles.

"Great, when can we do this spar." Asura replied with excitement.

"In a few months. We have to wait for the clones to grow and we can get the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan. Otherwise, we would just lose our eyesight in a spar." Kagami dumps cold water on Asura fiery excitement.

"Father. Why do you get my hopes up?" Asura puffed out his cheeks.

Kagami just smiled as he disposed of the clone bodies. It wouldn't be long until this project could be considered complete. Not to mention his virtual reality is also opening up in the coming week. Which marked a complete in that project as well, leaving him debating his next project to do.
