The Brawl of Gods(2)

Zeus's words seemed to have really gotten under everyone's skin, as all of them suddenly rushed forward. Their speed was incomparable to anything Zeus had faced before, so he immediately activated Overlock to the fullest potential.

A kick came from above from Apollo, which Zeus blocked with his elbow. However, that made him stuck in a position, forced by Apollo's physical prowess. A punch landed on Zeus's stomach and he was sent hurling away, rolling against the ground.

Yet, he collided with something extremely hard. All it took was one glance back to understand that it was Ares, having already been positioned there. Ares grabbed Zeus into a chokehold, and Zeus's mind immediately turned fuzzy.

In Apollo's arms, a bow materialized out of pure light, along with a few arrows. Without hesitation, Apollo fired those arrows toward Zeus's head, aimed with incredible precision. Zeus struggled but was ultimately unable to escape from Ares's hold.

The arrows penetrated Zeus's body, some colliding with Ares's skin and sticking into his skin. Yet, that didn't even make him budge. On the other hand, Zeus, despite all those arrows, had a smile on his face. "Boom."

Suddenly, Zeus's body turned into lightning, causing an incredible explosion that shook the entire vicinity. Dust rose into the air, and Ares, completely unharmed, walked out of it barely an instant later.

"I was the one who gave you a bow. How dare you raise it against me?" Zeus's voice resounded and echoed in everyone's ears as lightning arrows suddenly fell from the sky, aimed towards Apollo. He dodged each of them with grace. However, soon, they started exploding, causing even more dust to flow into the air. Soon, the entire battlefield was hidden beneath the dust.

Apollo, Ares, and Hera found each other in the dust, as their eyes made contact. Apollo raised his head into the air. "From above."

Ares took a step forward, his veins bulging all over his body, as green light suddenly shrouded his hand. That light continued to grow bigger until a huge hand formed in Ares's hand. He punched into the sky, and his hand suddenly collided with Zeus's one, creating a shockwave that sent all the dust away, revealing two humongous hands colliding with one another.

"So weak..." Ares mumbled, almost out of wonder to himself. Back in Heaven, Ares wouldn't have even wished to last a few seconds with Zeus, yet now he was actually pushing him back.

Apollo smirked at Ares's comment, as he tugged another arrow, sending it flying south, where Zeus was standing on top of a building. The arrow flew at an incomprehensible speed, forcing Zeus to quickly form a shield in front, so as not to dispel the God's Punch.

Yet, just an instance before colliding with the shield, the arrows suddenly disintegrated into light, reforming back into its former state after passing the shield. With no escape, Zeus couldn't even change his body direction to cause less injury.

The arrow stuck deeply into Zeus's stomach, causing him to stumble over and dismiss the jutsu. He promptly took out the arrow and threw it away, feeling hellish burns all over his stomach. Gritting his teeth, Zeus pushed even more natural energy into his body, slowly but surely healing his internal injuries.

Yet, once he looked down, there were only two figures looking up at him. A sense of danger enveloped him, and Zeus promptly turned around, where he saw Ares standing with a fearsome spear in his hand. Ares didn't waste any time and rushed forward.

Knowing that his physical strength was inferior in every way, Zeus dodged the first punch. And that was his mistake. At that moment, Ares's face suddenly transformed, and Hera's delicate expression took over. Her being much more mobile, she swiped with her free hand, sticking her long nails into Zeus's body.

'She is trying to get into my mind.' Zeus cursed internally, feeling something invading his mind. However, even if his body and strength had changed, his willpower remained, and Zeus promptly shrugged it off. However, that moment of hesitance was enough for two other gods to appear beside him.

A spear stuck right through his chest, causing blood to splutter all over his chest. Anger clouded his mind, as Zeus bit his lip. "Get the fuck away from me, fuckers." Zeus roared, materializing a lightning force around him that traveled all over him, causing all the gods that surrounded him to hurdle away.

Hera was sent off the building alongside Apollo. Yet, Ares didn't budge. His skin sizzled from the lightning, revealing his huge bones. Despite that, Ares didn't even say anything, instead slowly continuing to move towards the force surrounding Zeus. Ares's skin was regenerating faster than it was being destroyed.

A whip formed in Zeus's hands as he latched it towards Ares's leg, curling it around it. Then, Zeus started striking him with volts of unimaginable intensity, causing Ares to stop moving. Zeus used that moment to come closer, performing a kick to the man's head that sent him hurling down the building, where both Hera and Apollo awaited.

"Pitiful tricks." Ares stood back up immediately, his body already regenerated. "You have become even more disgusting. The only reason I respected you was because of your strength, yet now you resort to tricks that hide the fact that you are just a powerless mortal."

Zeus ignored Ares's words. "What has happened to Heaven? Have you abandoned it to simply make sure that I no longer come back as a ruler?"

"What is happening there is none of your concern," Hera answered bluntly. Zeus sighed. There was no use in talking. However, Zeus didn't have any confidence to win. Once a god decided to descend on a mortal world, their power adjusted accordingly in order to not break the world's balance.

Yet, that didn't mean that their divine powers disappeared. Ares was basically immortal with his regeneration, and Zeus didn't have enough divine energy to cause soul attacks yet. Hera's control and influence on people were absolute in this world, while Apollo could probably defeat him alone.

This was an unwinnable battle.

Yet, Zeus didn't run.

Let them come.

The situation didn't look great right now, but he could quickly turn that around. Screw their overflowing divinity. He had two working hands and legs.
