Ch 20 : Sepparation

After waiting for some time, the Third Kazekage eventually finished doing his work, and now he was ready to speak with Chisaki.

"Listen, Chisaki, I invited you for two things. First, you performed well as a Sunagakure citizen. You have helped to improve Suna's economy by revitalizing our lands, and adding that to your strength, the village has decided to promote you to the rank of Chunin!"

"Thank you, Kazekage Sama! I'm just doing my duty" No one gets upset when getting a promotion and a raise. Chisaki was no exception.

Even if he was rich, he still valued the promotion that the Third Kazekage gave to him.

"Second: Chisaki, as the Kazekage, I hereby assign you to a special team that will go to support our troops to engage Konoha. Here, please check this out." With those words, the 3rd handed the appointment letter to Chisaki.

The 3rd appointment was completely different from what Chisaki had imagined. He never thought that he would be sent to the battlefield so soon. Still, this went perfectly like he wanted as this means that he was closer to revenge.

It was subtle, but the Third could see the great desire for revenge in Chisaki and could only sigh inwardly.

He waited for Chisaki to finish reading the letter before he continued:

" Well, that's basically everything. Your teammate should be arriving by now, and after this, you will learn the details from them!"

Chisaki nodded as he waited for his teammates to come.

Not long after, the door opened, and two figures revealed themself.

" Kazekage-Sama!" x2

" Good, Karura, Sasori, meet Chisaki! He will be your teammate in this special team!"

With the Kazekage to introduce them, the first meeting between Chisaki and his teammate went pretty well.

Chisaki looked pretty indifferent outside, but actually, he was trying his best to hold back his excitement inside.

Karura and Sasori, for them to be his teammate, it was the best possible teammate combination that Chisaki could hope for right now.

Let's not mention Sasori, who would soon turn into a Kage-level powerhouse, Karura, who later would be Rasa's wife was an elite Jonin herself.

Furthermore, based on the anime, Chisaki could see that Karura had a kind and good nature, which made him doing the mission with Karura a lot safer as he wouldn't necessarily afraid to be backstabbed.

This way, the team of three left Kazekage's office and went with Karura to a training ground to discuss their mission.

The first thing that Karura, the leader of the team, did was to explain the content of the mission that she had gotten to the two little kids. But of course, she would still need to hide the fact that she was actually just a bodyguard for the two so they could grow safely.

In the third training ground, the group sat across from each other as they started to chat. As they were going to be a team, they needed to have some understanding with each other, and some little chat between them would be a nice way to start it.

After a brief chat, Karura started assessing the levels of the two kids. She was surprised by how the two kids were actually far beyond her expectations.

" Sasori, Chisaki.. you two are genius..."

Karura finished her assessment and asked the two to go home as they would proceed with their mission tomorrow. She asked them to prepare their belonging, as well as said goodbye to their family member as it wasn't clear when they would be able to go back to Suna again.

- Later that night -

Chisaki finally finished preparing his belonging.

He was about to go to bed to sleep as it was already pretty late, but then a small figure was embracing her from behind.

" Are you going tomorrow?"

Konan said with teary eyes as it would be the first time they separated for a long time.

Chisaki looked at the small figure behind him and sighed.

If he could, he wanted to stay here and wait for Konan.

However, this war was also a good chance for him to improve himself.

After all the training with the Third Kazekage, Chisaki recently felt that he had reached a wall in his progress, and only with some real battle would he be able to grow anymore.

Chisaki turned around as he returned the embrace of Konan.

" I will, but don't worry, I will return for you." Sais Chisaki as he planted a kiss on Konan's forehead.

All the years they have been together, Konan was like a little sister for Chisaki, and even though he had prepared his mind, he also felt a bit saddened by this separation.

" Then.. can you sleep with hugging me tonight?" Asked Konan with a blushing face.

She looked at Chisaki with red eyes, to which Chisaki eventually responded with a nod.

" Of course, if it is for you, then I will do everything!"

The two then went to their bedroom, where they spent the rest of the night talking and embracing each other.

It took a lot of promises from Chisaki before Konan eventually fell asleep.
