Naruto Online: The Strongest Shinobi

Michael, living in a dystopian world devastated by nuclear warfare, discovers a new VRMMORPG game called 'Elemental Nations.' Excited by the opportunity to escape his harsh reality, he purchases the Tier 1 headset and prepares to embark on an adventure. In his cramped living space, surrounded by the remnants of his previous life, Michael contemplates the hardships he and his family endure. The scarcity of resources and the confined conditions serve as constant reminders of the post-apocalyptic world they inhabit. As Michael watches the game's trailer, he recognizes familiar elements from the anime series Naruto. His passion for the show in his previous world fuels his excitement to explore this virtual rendition of the Naruto universe. However, in this new world, anime is not as popular, with people favoring slice-of-life stories over war-torn narratives. Equipped with the VR gear, Michael eagerly enters the game, expecting to unleash his knowledge of the Naruto world to become a powerful shinobi. The game's mechanics limit the number of players who can join as shinobi from the five great villages, adding a sense of exclusivity and competition to the experience. With the promise of potentially earning money through the game, Michael sees an opportunity to contribute to his family's welfare. Unemployment and limited opportunities in the real world have left him longing for a chance to make a difference. As the game servers go online, Michael finds himself transported to a new location, ready to embark on an extraordinary journey within the virtual world of Elemental Nations. Little does he know that this adventure will hold secrets, challenges, and the potential for him to become the hero he aspires to be.

Chapter 12: Preparations

Chapter 12: Preparations

That was my first time meeting team 7. It went relatively decently, and I seemed to have made a good impression on all of them. Well, as much as I could with Sakura's attention on Sasuke and Mr Emo Boys being on his food.

He seemed to have let it go into his mind that no one from his year would be a worthy challenge to fight him, thus he just ignored me.

I didn't know if I could take him on right now, to be fair. I might be able to beat him, but I didn't have any destructive level Ninjutsu yet.

My status looked like this.

When the Body Flicker Jutsu and the Shadow Possession Jutsu had reached 150 and 250 respectively, I dumped 50 points into both of them, effectively maxing out.

I was also contemplating on if I should go to the Chunin-Level right now.

I could make the points back in a couple of missions anyway.

But I decided to wait for my Physique to catch up to my Chakra, so I could use 10 points each on it.

This morning, we did another mission bringing my EXP points to 920.

I was confident that with my current skills, I might be able to fight most low leveled Chunin. However if I went into the Chunin exams arc like this, Gara would sneeze and his sand would kill me.

I was not prepared whatsoever.

After our mission and training, the team was about to go our separate ways like usual, but Naido sensei stopped us.

"Squad. I wanted to let you know that the Jounin of Team 7, Kakashi Hatake recently met Shikomu and was curious about our squads progress. He wants our genin to spar and I agreed. As you must know I am not one to back down from a challenge." He said with a smirk.

However I couldn't help but inwardly shake my head. We barely knew anything about our sensei. He for some reason didn't want to bond with us at all.

"So, be back in 1 hour after some rest." He said before disappearing.

Ayumi then just nodded at us and left, but Kazuto walked along with me.

"Shikomu, how have you met Kakashi Hatake? Have you by any chance talked with Sasuke Uchiha?" He asked me.

As he asked me that, alarm bells began to ring inside of my head. How the hell did he know the names of these 2?

"No. I met them by chance. I am friends with this character called Naruto…"

"You mean the demon child?"

As he said that, something confirmed inside of my mind. I had been racking my brain about what Kazuto had been doing.

I hypothesized he was meeting with his other friends inside of the village, but it seemed like I missed an obvious connection.

His name had an Uchiha clan name inside of it. He would naturally try to find out more about it. It wasn't a secret to any senior ninja that the Uchiha had Sharingan, and Kakashi was known as the 'Copy Ninja,' Kakashi of the Sharingan.

He probably wanted to now use me to meet Sasuke and learn more first hand about the Sharingan.

"Demon Child? I don't know about that. I just thought about talking to some ... .NPC's would let me get a quest. But eventually I just liked his character so I became friends with him." I tried playing off my friendship.

While I didn't have direct control over major guilds of the outside world moving, I could control the relationship of the main character.

I am sure that most clan future heads like Ino, Kiba and Hinata were approached by players.

Naruto was the only one left out due to the villagers' hate towards him. I didn't need attention towards him, as sad as it was to Naruto that I was cucking him from making more 'friends.'

"So you haven't met them huh…never mind." He said, as he left from the location. Seeing him moving without body-flicker, I couldn't help but shake my head.

He was focusing too much on the unnecessary.

I flickered back to the Nara compound. I had a spar to prepare for.

As I sat inside of the compound, after collecting a lot of Ninja tools, plenty of new weapons and some storage seals with more necessities, I rechecked my status page.

I spent 29 points to become a Chunin ranked Shinobi and make my overall EXP become 881.

For me to become a Jounin, I had to spend 300 more EXP now.

My chakra control amount had dropped, due to my sudden increase in Chakra.

I didn't think it would take a long time for me to train it back to normal.

I also moved around a little to get used to my new character. I felt lighter, yet I could clearly feel my punches hit more heavily.

For some reason, confidence was also brimming for me.

Sasuke still had a week to awaken his Sharingan, which meant he wouldn't be able to keep up with me or my Chakra-wires.

I also decided that after this spar I should focus on forming a new destructive jutsu for my offensive. For now, probably being the Rasengan. However, Chunin level chakra wouldn't be enough for me to use shadow clones, shadow possession and the Rasengan, a chakra heavy jutsu. I probably need to become a Jounin for that.

I need to check my Elemental nature.

(With Team 7)

"Awesome! I get to see how strong Shikomu is with this!" Naruto exclaimed.

Sakura also took this as a chance to impress Sasuke, and was fired up.

"Why do we have to waste our time with this? I much rather train by myself." Sasuke mentioned Kakashi.

"I believe this would be a good training exercise for you guys. It is 1 on 1 combat and not a team fight. If it was a team fight…"

"CHA, if it was a team fight. WE WOULD DESTROY THEM!" Sakura exclaimed.

"No…I think even academy students have better teamwork than you guys…Individual fights though. From what I have seen and heard, we should be able to win 2 of the fights." Kakashi told his squad.

As he said that, all 4 of them started nodding for different reasons.

'Sakura would lose to even 8 year old Academy students. She passed through academics thus far…' Kakshi thought.

'Obviously Naruto will lose. He is dead last after all. I have to defeat the opponent Kunoichi, CHA!' Sakura thought.

'Sakura is going to lose.' Sasuke thought. He didn't even think to praise Naruto for his potential victory. Yet he didn't doubt his capability to win as well. He had seen Naruto create multiple clones. Hundreds would be a problem for anyone.

It's obviously Sasuke Kakshi sensei is talking about. Who else can it be?' Naruto thought, while shaking his head up and down.
