CH07 : Academy(3)

Exams were divided into 2 parts, perception and accuracy, and physical strength and endurance. Half of the groups were going through physical strength and endurance whereas the rest the other thing. 

Yuichi was doing a physical strength and endurance test first. It begins with 10 laps of 400m race track after which obstacle race, and power punching and kicking came, all of the test was time consuming and greatly exhausting thus 15 minutes break were provided in between. 

On the other hand on perception and accuracy tests, leaf concentration, weapon throw and projectile dodging were all of it. 

There were already limits on each test which when one achieved the instructor can know that the specific student has reached genin level or above. 

It varied for each exam, for example in leaf concentration the limit was 60 min of leaf holding and similarly for 10 laps of 400 m it was 30 minutes. 

Yuichi didn't give his best in everything but it doesn't mean he took everything lightly. His goal was to find his limits without letting everyone know. 

He just wanted to show only 70% of his all over strength keeping his full limits in darkness for everyone. Thus he did everything at his average level. He didn't remove his weights that he wore and on top of that just spiked them 1kg, which overall increased 5 kg on his body. 

But he made sure to hide them in a way that no one would catch him. Thus although he was giving his best as much as he could but in reality he was doing just okay. 

As for the precision and accuracy tests he made sure to concentrate on the pebbles attached to his chest through chakra while doing everything. 

There were 5 pebbles in the beginning but after going over leaf concentration after exhausting himself just to touch 60 min, he reduced the number to 3 which still greatly dipped his performance. 

All in all Yuichi managed to perform above average and reach the top 30 ranks, which itself was a great shock for everyone. Even his class teacher came and praised him for his growth. 

Reaching top 30 was special because both girls and boys who reached top 30 in their respective categories fought 1v1 among them to decide who took the first position in physical examination. 

Yuichi was also happy with this after all this was a chance for him to test his real combat skill. But he was still making sure to limit himself by spiking his overall weights to 5 kg to 7.5 kg. 

Now in total the amount of weight he was carrying all over his body was 27.5 kg which was massive and more than half of his own weight. 

Yuichi has a height of 5.6 feet whereas his weight was around 53 kg but now his body weight was around 80 kg. Thus while resting before sparring he was continuously moving his chakra to assist with the weight so that he wouldn't get tired till his turn came. 

Because more than 4 instructors were watching every test, they were making sure no child used chakra to enhance their capabilities except during precision and accuracy tests. 

So it was clear that he had to endure this weight while sparring, although reducing the weight was always an option but his inner fighter self wanted to take on this challenge.

"Hey Yuichi are you meditating?"

Yuichi opened his eyes and saw Jiraiya in front of him. 

Yuichi stood up and gave Jiraiya a high-five. 

"Yeah man, just conserving some energy before 1v1 battles, it's my first time after all"

"Ohh it's your first time! Don't be so nervous man, it's easy-"

"Ahmm" A throat clearing voice came from behind as the person was waiting to be introduced.

"Yuichi here is my friend Orochimaru, apparently he is a genius but nothing in comparison to me."

Jiraiya gave a cheeky smile which annoyed orochimaru a little but he kept his composure for what he was well known for. 

"Hello, i am Yuichi Ensho from class 3, i heard a lot about you Orochimaru" Yuichi gave his introduction but kept it short. 

"You have good chakra control Ensho-san, i saw you during the chakra control test and even now you chakra pool and chakra control is very good" 

Orochimaru politely complimented Yuichi on things that he found very good about him. The curious personality that he carried couldn't be seen from the beginning and the high sensory perception that he had added cherry on top of it.

"ha..ha..ha.. It's my first time getting complimented by someone my age, Thanks orochimaru. Also drop the honorific if you felt comfortable and just call me Yuichi"

Yuichi took things lightly as he was quite shocked by the revelation that orochimaru was a sensory type. 

"Ensho Yuichi" 

Although Yuichi wanted to talk a little more with them but instructor called him for his 1v1 match, thus he had no other option than leaving. 

"Let's meet later, it's my fight. Also let's go to eat something after the physical examination. The bill is on me, consider it a party for me reaching top 30"

Yuichi went to the arena where his match was, Jiraiya and orochimaru also followed him a little slowly to watch Yuichi's match. 

"Hey Jiraiya, your friend is quite strong so why is he in class 3?" Orochimaru asked Jiraiya a question that he was curious about after observing Yuichi. His body was very well built and there were many minor injuries that were fresh all over his hands, showing the amount of hardwork the said person was putting everyday. 

"Yeah I know that too, but apparently he just started training himself without slacking off only a few months ago. He will probably join us in the next year class" 

Jiraiya explained the reason that he got from Yuichi when he asked him the same question. 

"You should follow his footsteps, you too are very poor in your studies, just put in some hard work there."

Orochimaru gave Jiraiya advice but the faint smile on his face clearly shows that this was his way of teasing his friend.

"Heyy i always worked hard it's just that-"

"Apparently the lord third was gonna take a few children from next year's early graduates as his disciple. If you want to be one of them you should have to work hard and give next year's early graduation test that is gonna be held in 5 months from now" 

Orochimaru gave Jiraiya a little information that he got from Hiruzen itself as he was his guardian.

"You are giving it ?" 

Jiraiya asked in a serious tone as he looked at orochimaru. In response, Orochimaru just nodded after making eye contact.

*sigh*

"It looks like the tale of greatest ninja of konoha will also began a little early" 

Jiraiya laughed out loudly. 

"Thanks, I will make sure to become the best ninja." Orochimaru interrupted Jiraiya and sincerely thanked him, hiding his faint smile. 

"I am not talking about you BASTARD"
